  1. just listened to the manager on radio lancs and he spoke tremendously well, seems to be very upbeat and positive, and did not sound like a man under pressure.
  2. get him back and in the team saturday
  3. 5 games under souness 2 points 5 games under hughes 4 points neither have good records but to say sack him after 5 games is a tad harsh, but a understandable knee jerk reaction after another pasting. what we do now is more important,do we flood the team with young players ie taylor-mceveley-bruce-fitzgerald-donnely - gally- peters-garner -johnson or do we stick with the dross. i think i would rather go and watch a team of home grown youngsters giving there all, than a set off never beens just going through the motions.till january we have to fight for every point,it is up to mark hughes to decide the way we go about it.
  4. fixtures till jan liverpoo 1point norwich 3pts man city 0points brum 3points fulham 0points spurs 1pt palace 3pts everton 0pts newcastle 3pts bolton 1pt that will give us 21points from 20 games, there is hope
  5. though the match was on in the pub 5 minutes from me,i could not bear to go and watch,i expected a drubbing and we got one. i have to say the pro souness brigade are now after sparky's blood, well it was your messiah who left us with this dross.the summer signings were pathetic, plus the renewal off short and tugay contracts. mark hughes appointment was a gamble, souness should have walked in the summer-he was never in any danger off the sack if our financial plight is true.instead off having the close season to make signings and assess players he has to do it in january.a point a game till then will give us a fighting chance, all is not lost
  6. chelsea 4 v 1 rovers
  7. quite a few teams bring there own stewards, utd and arsenal definatley have this season,as my dad who has to buy a parking space on the darwen end car park due to ill health, has had his parking space nicked on these said games by visiting stewards. i think he pays about £150 a season to park close by,poor do really
  8. dissapointed bobby bobby bobby HOY HOY HOY was not on the list voted for dougie
  9. i sit right next to the away fans, bottom corner off the jw stand and i would say boro fans in the main were mainly seated in the 1st half except for the odd song or two, however in the 2nd half the majority were stood as they looked like scoring everytime they attacked. back to the problems in the blackburn end,the only sure fire way off avioding trouble is sitting down, but as any footie fan knows not a easy thing todo.i have always thought all seater stadia offer death traps if it kicked off big style on the terraces, and some fans will be hell bent on this if we are being stuffed by the scousers, and the police -stewards are evicting rovers fans rightly or wrongly.
  10. don't do it tris
  11. most people seem to forget we had ten men for a hour on saturday,we were cut to peices in the 2nd half due to this.this match is better forgotten but the yearning lesson from it is that the whole defence needs replaceing. the 1st goal gray was not turned inside out once but twice by jfh,the 2nd ammo gave the ball away and then watched as that prolific scorer boatang scored, the 3rd niell did actually try and cover jfh whilst the men who should be doing the job marked thin air.by the time the 4th went in i was watching the crowd leave in droves
  12. the real mark hughes era starts from today, before wednesday night he was wearing 2 hats, the welsh job and ours.in the last 2 weeks he most probably had only a couple off days with the squad. i can now see many members point off view, were they stated hughes lack off experince, yesterday he made some clangers with team selection and then with formation after the dismissal.they were almost sounessesque. i have stated before we need a point a game till the transfer window, then we need the board to back there man.money is tight so players from the lower leagues will have to be brought in.gabbidon-ashton-chaplow-pugh may all be able to do a job for us.
  13. funny thing is when souness signed these players everyone was positive
  14. before tugay got himself sent off,we were in for 3 points this afternoon, neither side had worried the keepers, but we were looking the better off 2 poor sides. after the dismissal we were still in the hunt,at half time boro made a good substitution we did not, surely bringing short on should have happened at the break.jfh finishing showed us all what a good player he is,still i remenber getting slagged off when i said we should have gone for him in the summer. still apart from the top 3 in the premiership i do not think any side can play for a hour a man down and still get a result, tugay let us down today, and i will be suprised if he represents the club again. we need to take a point a game till the transfer window opens, this will be difficult but possible even with the dross sourness has left us with.paul gallagher needs to be brought into the team, thommo needs to reappear, and hopefully short and todd can stay match fit. i want to see some fight in the team, not the best attack happening on the terraces,we were left in the mire by sourness but mark hughes will do his upmost to stop this rot.
  15. i thought the fan who tried to help his mate, when he was being thrown out was rovers best attack all day
  16. if arsenal gates are down 2% it's because they have played both rovers and bolton at home and neither team sold there allocation
  17. i'm sure in the early days off the premier, dave whelan had a box at ewood,he was always doing draws and raffles on the pitch.maybe the urge to be a premier league chairman might outweigh his love off wigan
  18. i wonder if wigan's promotion bid fails this year, could dave whelan be talked into taking over at ewood.im sure i read somewhere he is selling jjb,and he has connection's with ewood
  19. surely it is the job off the clubs loyal supporters to spread the news off things changing for the better under hughes.i took along a polish work colleague on saturday, and he loved every minute.him and his mate want to go to the liverpool game now,we must try every avenue to help boost the gates.we all know someone who has given up the ghost,or a season ticket, just badger them into getting back into the ewood way. even in the 1st division last time our lowest gate was 15k+ against palace, the way the gates are declining we may have lower than that this season
  20. do people realise unless we unearth some alien hughes will not be able to sign anyone till january, there aint 100's of youri about.i think over the last 2 games we have started to play football,if we can manage a point a game till xmas all is not lost. the problem at ewood was sourness and his staff,he has flown the nest,i reckon hughes and co will turn it around. all managers are as good as there workers, says it all
  21. i would have thought any off the 6 attacking places in the team!!! the guy has always been class, but signing someone so late in there career is taking a chance.but as i said in another thread we are at the bare bones and the only way to sign players between now and january is contract free players. any other decent non-contract players about
  22. sat at home last night and watched the game, thought we tried to play football, and sometimes in the wrong areas.i was not a fan off souness in the last 12 months and made this known, but at the moment hughes is left with a squad which is at best down to the bare bones. i thought hughesy made one mistake last night the substitution's,stead is our best striker and should be on the pitch for 90 minutes,i would like to see him and gally given a run. dickov has played very well in all games he has played this season, but for all his running and harrying offers very little threat to the goal. the only player i cursed last night was gray,i thought his distribution was poor, and he wasted a large percentage of his possesion. if last night is anything to go by,we are on a par with charlton, who will be a top ten team.we need mark and his staff to instill there footballing believes on our team and from what i saw last night the future is a dam sight brighter than before souness left.
