  1. very tough one to forecast my heart says the rovers-my head says charlton. charlton 1 v 1 rovers
  2. before i start ,I DID NOT ATTEND LAST NIGHT. but i saw highlights on tv which were pretty entertianing,i for one believe this season was always going to be a slog, with souness or without him. hughes had 5 days with the squad before last night,he cannot replace any until january-so he made the decision to play players who did not get a chance on saturday. no matter how good a manager you are you have to see your players in match action, not just trianing session's.it will be a lot clearer in his mind that he has a MASSIVE JOB to keep us in the premier league, better he learnt the harsh lesson last night and not in a premier league game. the legacy of sourness will be with us for a long time
  3. i am one who has written matty off,but could he be another that has been harshly treated by sourness for whatever reason. lets hope that is the case,we have had these false dawns before the 2 goals at villa and the goal agianst liverpool, there will be no one happier than me if matty returns to be a international class player agian.
  4. whilst i have read this thread over the last few days,i would like to ask a few question's. what ever happened to the police officer who was in court over the incident with the taxi driver?i seem to remenber the telegraph reported on the 1st day off the trial but then it was brushed under the carpet. secondly and most worrying was the storming off the jubilee public house,by lancashire's finest after a burnley game, were members off staff and public were assulted, this seems to have also been forgotten.
  5. i first mooted the name off mark hughes last october when i had enough off sourness's antic's,i am happy and i have every faith in him, welcome back hughesy
  6. i would like to see either hughes or strachan in the job,but why oh why or we waiting till next week.we have a crunch game on saturday, even at this stage of the season a must win game.we must make the appiontment quickly
  7. just heard a radio interview with sourness and he was going on about how he needed 3 more players and how young the squad was. que the signing of 3 over 30year old players, for some reason newcastle come a close second to the dingles in my distian. but much worse is the squad he has left behind,i had a gut feeling souness would walk out in the summer, spurs were struggling to find a man,and i thought sourness would fit the bill. the summer signing's were pitifull, dickov i grant has been better than i expected but matador and goped are hopeless.was sourness getting a cut off the signing on fees? i also heard last night in the pub that souness had given his great ally john williams a verbal blast at brockhall,no wonder jw was smiling when he announced he was leaving. if we appoint the right man stachan or hughes we have time to turn this season around, but either man has to make do with the dross sourness has left till january, tough times are ahead
  8. to me the season starts today,we have got rid off the master tactician and parkes will play players in there true position's,i for one expect douglas to play today. not over confident we will get a result but a fine display will do. newcastle 2 v 1 rovers
  9. well in the end i got my way,all round souness resigning has been a god send for the club. the number off times i got slated on this board for asking for sourness's head and then he gives it us on a platter,i am still not uptodate with the going on's off this week. from last summer onwards i thought souness was losing the plot, the sales his buys were baffling.but before that he had been a breath of fresh air to the club. he took us from the depths off division 1 to the highs off the premier league,i thank him for that.it just went wrong somewhere along the line. i won't wish him well at newcastle because they are a team i despise, but i think the souness of the last 18 month's and the mighty magpies will go hand in hand.
  10. just back from poland and austria and heard the news at 3pm in the czech republic monday, fanbloodytastic if a club deserves souness its newcastle.
  11. i would have thought rovers could have cancelled matt's contract at any time since his accident,we were denied a pay out on him because he broke the rules 'riding a scotter in roma'. all rovers have done is back an emloyee,a very good employee at that.
  12. thanks for clearing that up ricky,i knew there was a bust up just could not remenber the incident clearly
  13. i would have took cain dingle as yorkes replacement, this boothroyd guy got a whole article in 442 last year.i can remenber he left arsenal under a cloud, after being a star off the gunners youth team.not sure what he did,but he might rival andy todd
  14. i'm really getting worried now, junior has given up his ticket for saturday, and decided to go to blackpool for the weekend i do not know how the tickets are going for saturday, but the gate may concern the board.anything below 28,000 shows the blackburn public are voting with there feet.
  15. voted for sir roger, but we have had so many decent keepers, jim arnold was magnificent when he played in the kendall era,i can actually remenber sir roger jones making a mistake at ewood al. it was when he played for stoke and he gifted paul round 2 goals,i was stood at the front off the blackburn end, singing his name with the rest off the blackburn end, when he came running out for the 2nd half,i'm sure we were 1-0 down and then sir roger gifted us 2 goals . what a guy
  16. do you have fulham at home 1977
  17. i've heard that once matty's court case with the taxi driver ,who run him over has finished,he and rovers will part company. it is a tragic waste off a career, one bad idea 'zooming round rome on a scooter' cut short what certianley would have led to england caps. to be injured like he was,he has done fantastic to come so far.
  18. i thought leeds went down because they played to many youngsters toodle pip
