  1. Result!! ... I've got DSF in the house. Well chuffed.
  2. Or £2.25 if you believe the LET. Don't think anybody really knows except for the 2 clubs. My gues would be closer to 2 than 3. Especially considering Wigan's first bid for savage was reported at Roberts plus £1m. Then their second (improved) offer was £3m.
  3. There's still a 3rd/4th place playoff though at 4pm today ... if he plays in that it's doubtful that he'll feature against us. If Beattie is out, they'll have virtually no strikers available.
  4. I made sure and got mine early ... Goodison can be a nightmare if you're at the back of the lower teir in the Bullens road stand (due to the pillars)... thankfully I'm near the front.
  5. Encouraging news on Pongolle in this article on the LET site: http://www.thisislancashire.co.uk/lancashi...rt/ROVERS0.html "I was ill last week but I've got myself fit. Now it's up to the manager to decide," said Pongolle. Let's unleash the predator lookalike on the toffees
  6. Scorers: Emerton 1 Dickov (not sure ... first half I think) Pedersen 58 Bellamy 89 EDIT: You're right btw .. it was 4-1 ... Hughes (35) for them
  7. That's right .. it was on sky ... I had to buy my flights twice as I'd booked them when it was supposed to be a saturday and had to buy again after it was rearranged.
  8. Have to be positive about his one as I'm making the trip over the pond for it. 1-0 or 2-1 in favour of Rovers ... but it will be tough. Any idea how many tickets we've sold? I was over for this one last season ... brilliant result, poor away following though.
  9. Cheers, It works through Internet explorer but not through mozilla for some reason. Home shirts are only £10. Only x-large and above left though.
  10. Teamtalk reporting that Savage is struggling to be fit (ankle) after Rio's challenge, contrary to earlier reports. It also says that Pongolle is struggling with flu and that Bellamy is 'close' to a return. http://www.teamtalk.com/teamtalk/News/Stor..._995466,00.html I reckon Sav will make it and it'll be Bentley and Kuqi up top again.
  11. Really? I've been trying loads recently but I'm still getting the usual error message. Is the online shop working for anyone else?
  12. The toon army certainly were on their way down under Souness, but you've got to admit ... whoever takes over now will have one hell of a squad once all the injured players return. Although there are some questiuons that must be asked: 1. Is there any cash left for the defender or 2 they need to sort out the defence. 2. Will Owen be there next season 3. Can Shearer play on / can an adequate Shearer replacement be found. Be interesting to see what happens.
  13. Don't know, although what also alarmed me last night was the commentator's comment on match of the day. He said that there was a question mark over Pongolle's fitness and seemed to suggest that he wouldn't have played against MU even if he had been registered in time. Anybody heard if he's carrying an injury?
  14. Agreed ... although I'm sure it will be tailored to fit in with the shirt design. I've really taken to the Lonsdale logo across the middle of the shirt... It's my favourite since McEwans Lager. Although I'm sure the Bet24.com deal will mean more £$ than our current deal ... and that's what it's all about I suppose. Nothing could spoil my mood today!! I've got 2 more floors of MANUre fans to visit before lunch
  15. Is that due to Kanu's late return from the Africa Nations cup?
  16. Some sites say Smith is out, others don't. I really hope he is .... the more unavailable to them the better. A midfield of: Fletcher Giggs Richardson A N Other doesn't exactly strike fear in the hearts of the opposition. Also, no articles confirming Bellamy's absenteeism ... maybe no news is good news. Let's hope so.
  17. What's the chances of the Rooney situation being resolved and having his possible ban active for the second leg? Ronaldo definitley banned for the second leg ... If we can get those two out of the picture that's a start at least.
  18. Terrible news as this is, it may be a blessing in disguise as it will further highlight the need for a Benni McCarthy type figure's arrival at Ewood in January. Actually it's not a blessing in disguise ... it's more of a massive black cloud with the faintest possibilty of a silver lining.
  19. RIP Bestie. An absolute legend in our wee country. Gone but not forgotten.
  20. I may be wrong, but does a straight red not mean a 3 game ban?? Why am I reading everywhere that if Zurab's appeal is unsuccessful he will have a one game ban? Didn't Dickov get three for his red at west ham? cheers.
  21. Update on the Bellamy injury from the Mirror (pinch of salt at the ready) http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/tm_...-name_page.html A scan has revelaed no serious ligament damage, although a second scan is scheduled for when the swelling subsides. Fingers crossed.
  22. Great result ... Had we not won on saturday it would have turned all the positivity from old trafford on it's head. " goals will be great for the big man's confidence too, and just in time if Bellers is to miss a few more games. I can understand Bellamy's frustration ... I was injured myself all summer and missed pre-season, then got back for 2 weeks, played 1 match and torn ligaments. I was inconsolable. Now when I watch my team play, and win, I'm unable to be overjoyed as I'm thinking ... 'Damn!! that should be me out there!' I think Bellamy's enjoying his time at Rovers working with Hughes, Eddie and Bowen... and as a result, gutted that he's going to miss some more games. Was reading the Sunday World yesterday and Rovers had 4 players in the team of the week, although reading some reviews of the match I don't think most of you would agree: Tugay MGP Reid Kuqi
  23. I've never sided with the Savage out brigade, but at the same time I've never been entirely convinced that he's played his best stuff for Rovers... ... Although, the fact that I'm struggling to pick someone to adequately replace him tomorrow must mean he's doing something right. The candidates: (to partner Tugay) Mokoena: Can break things up in midfield and is good protection for the back 4, although is nowhere near as mobile as Savage who seems to get everywhere. Yes, Savage's range of passing is questionable but when Mokoena is about to try a square ball across the midfield I shudder with fear at the thought of it being intercepted. I actually prefer him to launch it into the far corner. Bentley: I rate Bentley, although only playing alongside Savage, not with Toogs, he doesn't have the necessary defensive skills to play in a line up without Savage/Mokoena except perhaps if played wide on the right. Reid: After a brilliant pre-season we've not really seen the best of Reid recently... Mostly played in a wide or central attacking midfield role, but I do think he has the defensive capabilities (played RB a few times) to protect the back 4, allowing Tugay to venture further forward and supply Bellamy with the service he needs... the Tugay/Bellamy partnership showed glimpses of being very effective in the first half at OT last week. Some folk have mentioned trying Emerton in the middle. NO! I'd be very surprised if Filtcroft forced his way back in, although the fact that he's played alongside Tugay many times and knows exactly what's required of him in that partnership means it may be no bad thing. Zurab has played that position for Rangers a good few times too. I say play the same team as last week, except Savage and let Sparky decide who replaces him. 2-0 Rovers Bellamy 17 Savage replacement 81 Att. 21,046
