  1. It was me gov. I like a bit of banter.... And I've also always like the joie de vie that Dwight exudes. Black humour - I think not.... Seriously I despise what went on in Spain and was shouting at the England players to leave the pitch. I do not know what happened to Yorke but I heard nothing. If some evil little working class scumbler went over the top then that is bad..... .......But on a par with some wankler cutting you up in traffic.... Making a meal of it?? Like some other dubious posters hereabouts?? No-one else here ever been a subject of abuse?? I AM OFFENDED BY THE RACIAL SLURRING FROM A MULTI MILLIONAIRE PLAYBOY AND I CARE NOTHING FOR THE COLOUR OF HIS UNDERPANTS....
  2. 'Nuff said.....spot on ( apart from I would've given Emerton 8 )
  3. Good post Tris. In my 20's I followed rugby union at club and international level as that was the game I played. In my 30's I followed rugby league after moving back ooopp north... In both codes if there was any trouble by loud mouth young fleurklers rather large "lads" in their 40's would ask them ever so politely to "shut the fleurk up". And if they didn't...... Now is the time to join the campaign to allow the decent majority to do whatever it takes to defend their "home areas" against burglers. Let's put our beer bellies to use for once.... Next game that moronic roveryobboyahoos step out of line let the balding fat middle aged righteous amongst us bounce them out of our ranks once and for all......
  4. Unfortunately in that time the referee, Steve Dunn, books 5 Rovers' players for kicking out at the "small fella" as he makes darting runs into our penalty area and, with the sort of refereeing inconsistency we're becoming so used to lately, penalty appeals are waved away and the "small fella" escapes any punishment, as he blatently trips Dickov when clean through on goal. Norwich 1 - 2 Rovers Fleurklin' hilarious that lads
  5. We will learn alot about the management style of Hughes on saturday - do we keep things tight and hit on the break or press forward to try and dominate poor opposition even though we are away. I note Thompson and Pedersen are playing for the reserves tonight and hope they play themselves into the squad. Of most importance I hope the same eleven start as against Liverpool. We need to build on what was a decent performance for us and try to build team understanding in what is often a poorly balanced side who are not working coherently.
  6. We restored a bit of pride tonight. The players and the crowd actually seemed to care about our Premiership survival. Special mention for Brett who was superb. It will still be a long winter but the darkness has lifted a little. lets start seeing this season for what it has become - a battle for Premiership survival. Staying up is the be all and end all. WE ARE STAYING UP..... THE GREAT ESCAPE..... etc....etc..... Make Ewood rock as we roll up the division.
  7. I am utterly intrigued by that Tris, mate... I now HAVE to know what c****s stands for as I am a connoisseur in bizarre sexual practises and I am struggling with that one ( phnarr!! phnarr!! ) "Colins" is the best I can come up with, but why the liberal messageboard pedant should be sliding down a greasy pole I have no idea. Hope it wasn't Jerzy Dudek as I feel that even he doesn't deserve that.....
  8. Probably the most important thing that Hughes has to decide on. It should be the defence but as there is next to no choice then it is not. But how on earth can you suggest we play the non tackling frenchman behind a front two?? This would leave a single central midfielder to protect our pathetic defence and seeing as you think Flitty is beyond the pale ( I agree ) then we only have Douglas who could possibly play the role as Ferguson is not exactly a ball winner. Plainly we are simply not good enough to have the luxury of what would be a 4:3:3 unless we did without any wingers and as Emerton has been one of only a few decent performers this season then we surely must play him. Maybe three at the back to enable a 3:5:2 - yeh! right!! - we cannot defend with a back four!! We must stick with a 4:4:2 This surely excludes playing Djorky behind a front two unless you know something that would refute everything we have seen this season. So what should we do?? Play without Djork? As he is the best we have to open up defenses I would say it is essential to start with him - at least for home games. And this also is why we cannot afford to play MGP until we sign the likes of Savage or play without Emerton, who at least can defend a little bit. I would therefore play a 4:4:2 at home ( but probably 4:5:1 away ) with Djorkaeff playing behind a front man who runs themselves ragged before being subbed - Dickov/Matty/Stead/Bothroyd - who the hell knows? ........After reading my post so far I have realised that non of the above four strikers are good enough to play up front on their own. This means that we cannot afford to play Djorkaeff behind one after all and as it would be suicidal to play him behind two strikers for the reasons above then if he is to play in a side with two other strikers then he must fit into a wide midfield role. Not ideal I agree - but we are in desperate straits at least until we can bring in new players ( if it is already not too late ) in January. So against Liverpool at home next week I would start with - Brad Neill Short Todd Gray Emerton Ferguson Douglas Djorky Dickov Matty .....although I feel that when Thommo is fit then he may be the best for the midfield terrier role. The whole exercise has made me realise what a poorly balanced squad we have and for this we can only blame Souness. He would've motivated us better than Hughes recently and we wouldn't have lost as heavily in our last two games but he alone is responsible for our present squad and the fact that we have such a slow aged defense and lack the only premiership level striker we have had in recent years. HOW WE MISS ANDY COLE. HOW STUPID WERE THOSE HERE THAT SLAGGED HIM OFF. As a wise poster has already pointed out the best we can hope for is to pick up an average point a game for the rest of the year and then to balance the squad with the likes of Henchoz, Hartson, Gabby etc... If we do not stay up then we will be on a par with the dingles within two years and will look back on the glory years when we had the likes of Matteo, Amoruso, Dickov and De Pedro on our books.......
  9. The stands at Ewood Park... They had twenty thousand men... And some stood up for a bit of a thrill... Before sitting down again. When they stood up, they stood up... And when they sat down, they sat down... And when they were only halfway up... They were arrested.........
  10. Anyone who smokes should be shot. This would prevent many avoidable diseases.... .....and help solve the pensions crisis.
  11. Is your name an anagram of Rulox by accident or design??
  12. Fantastic article.......we can but hope. I'm off to sleep, perchance to dream.
  13. That's it Matthew. Get to bed immediately. Sorry about that Folks! Just because he is twelve now he thinks he knows it all. I've told his Mum and she will take his mobile away if he comes on here showing off again. I blame myself for this
  14. Brilliant!! Everyone of you fleurklers misses the fleurkin' point!! No wonder we are fleurked.....
  15. A merger is a non starter. For us to remain as a Premiership side Blackburn Rovers in their world famous Blue and White halves must become as well supported in Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster etc.....as Manure are. The whole country provides the fan base to keep them the top club side in England. Lancashire must do the same for us or we are going to be Premiership history. I'm not holding my breathe...........
  16. Entertaining game - draw a fair result. Good ref. Emerton was superb but needs to learn to cross the ball to become the top player he could be. Ferguson had a good game but should not be playing at the same time as Tugay. Jansen is NOT a wide left midfielder!! We do not have a single threatening striker. Hard work is not enough. Dickov could not have tried harder but his passing is often awful. Friedel has lost his authority and cannot kick properly ( ? leg still injured ) - still made one brilliant save, though. Both full backs were adequate but our centre backs couldn't defend set pieces to save their lives. Villa looked likely to score from every corner and attacking free kick. Big, big problem. Biggest problem is the old chestnut of the crowd numbers. LET KIDS IN FREE WITH A PAYING ADULT....GIVE HALF PRICE TICKETS TO SEASON TICKET HOLDERS TO PASS ON AS THEY SEE FIT.....ENCOURAGE AND FACILITATE WALK ON SUPPORT....ABOLISH THE PREVIOUS ATTENDANCE REGISTERS AND LET ANYONE WHO WILL BUT A TICKET ATTEND ANY GAME.... We have ranted on about this for too long. Something needs doing last season....
  17. Ferguson is more in the mode of Tugay - not a ball winner or physical presence but able to control the ball and distribute long and short passes. He can also get into the box to finish well - at least that is the theory. Not sure about his captaincy potential - as I posted I think Amoruso would've been a better choice. To perform this role it is essential that he has the right midfield partner. A young Flitty would fit the bill - the present one is well past his sell-by date. That man could well be Savage who would do the ball winning physical stuff for the wee laddie. I think you will find I was the first to suggest Wendy on this board when we were promoted. Interesting signing today - Djorkaeff has more ability to open up defences than the rest of our side put together now Tugay has lost his way. Where to play him though? Behind a single striker like at notlob?
  18. Reading the above posts made me wonder if we were all watching the same game....and just shows the size of the task for Hughes. Apart from Brad there doesn't seem to be a single player that a sizeable majority here would agree should start for us. That is a huge problem and shows that we have a moderate sized squad of adequate players, but no stars on present form. The first thing Hughes must do is build a spine for the team of 'keeper, dominant central defender, ball controlling centre midfielder and goal threatening centre forward. For what it is worth I would build the defence around Amoruso as, clumsy though he can be, he has a big heart and never tries to hide. Perhaps he should've been made captain. When fit Short should play with him. Nissa is not good enough at this level. I still feel we must stick with Ferguson in midfield as he at least has the potential to become a good player at this level. The more games he plays, the more he will improve. I would also like to see what Thommo can do in centre-mid when he returns as we need more enthusiasm and attitude here. Upfront our only class player has gone and left us with a massive ©hole to fill. I suppose the only first choice is Dickov as at least he never knows when to quit. However, he lacks the attributes to open up defences on his own. It could be any two out of five to play as far as I am concerned. If Hughes can get a pairing that plays well together and start scoring regularly we will not flirt with relegation. Otherwise we will have a long depressing winter ahead of us.
  19. Pi55ed again Tash? Maybe... but I could solve this with alcohol-free beer
  20. Cracking idea this.... And I would like to propose that we have standing only areas in women's toilets and, of course, sitting only areas on men's urinals.... We could solve the problem of speed cameras by having pedalling only areas on our highways.... The hunting dilemma can be settled by having vegetarian only foxhounds.... The war on terror can be resolved by replacing all muslims with buddhist fundamentalists.... And in fact all the problems in the world can be remedied by replacing god with kermit the frog.... Well done Amanda love.....you are indeed the devine holy nymph Rebecca the Great
  21. If you all remember Woy Odson came in and introduced a new fitness regime and at first we flew up to a lead in the Premiership before injuries ( mainly hamstrings from " over-training " ) took their toll. Having said that one of the few major errors by Souness has been his belief that " top players " should be left mainly to their own devices when it comes to tactics and training. Problem is we have very few " top players ". Hopefully his tactics will work at Newcastle It is plain to see that many of our players are in poor physical condition compared to other Premiership sides. Has the fact that our club doctor Fatty Batty is a bit of a lard got anything to do with this
  22. "Souness" ....."Hughes"..... .......sounds the same doesn't it
