  1. Why is it there seems to be this North Vs South thing in this country? I mean, being a southerner myself, I naturally dont give a damn about it, but why is it that people up North do (generalisation, obviosly)? The reason for that, mate, is a question of identity..... just who are you........... Most southerners have very little sense of identity in relation to their location due to the fact that most of them live in places of large influx and rarely stay in the same area themselves. Much of "the south" is an homogenized area anyhow. Most of "T'North is populated by folk who have stayed put and feel rooted where they are - for good or for bad. Those of us who do move are often the more adaptable elite. As it happens before spending seven years in R lovely capital city I spent three years amongst the townies of your fair city. Delightful place - shame about t'locals........ Glad to be back Ooooopp North where god resides. The reason you have no civic pride is that you live surrounded by "foreigners".... ........Ooops - just like Blackburn then...... ( cue B.Phillip 'n' Tnr...)
  2. We are no longer a top club able to sign the fancy dans. If I could play for Rovers against the Big Boys like Manure, Chelski and T'Arse then I would love to charge about the pitch kicking lumps out of all the soft southern fleurklers....... ..........Robbie Savage does that for me........ ..........he is my Rovers wet dream........ Stick to your t'rific daft celeritic sad songs soft lad.........
  3. Was in a really good mood until I read the comments on this thread by those posting during the game...... ............G...U...Y...S Y...O...U... K...N...O...W... F...L...E...U...R...K... A...L...L... A...B...O...U...T F...O...O...T...B...A...L...L............. STOP POSTING. 'NUFF SAID. To the real game. The most I have enjoyed a game at Ewood when we have lost and not scored. Made me feel proud again. Brad - could've done better with their goal but unlucky as the ball dipped. Otherwise little to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Todd and Nelsen were brilliant. Matteo and Neill - o.k. at defending. Rubbish going forward. On balance that is why they make a team fighting relegation. Mokoena - worked very hard and is learning fast. Good raw material and gave his all. Still very naive but I think he can make it. Thompson - worked hard but I am not sure his first touch is good enough for a central midfield role. Gamst Pedersen - deserved man of the match. Well done. Making him wait and getting him to develop himself is playing dividends. Might just become a star that outgrows our team. HURRAH....10 out of ten Rovers management and 0 out of ten to cwuiciuodaddyofgmp or whatever he called himself... Emerton - worked hard and on another day his efforts would have given better rewards. Savage - love the guy ( especially his flowing blonde locks ). One word for him. ZDOGSBALLORKS. That's what he gives us. Dickov - ditto. Didn't look 100% fit but gave his all despite his lack of natural class. Did a better job in a 4:1:4:1 than I thought he could. Reid coming on - did nothing. What was that about?? I wanted to see fresh legs up front. No points therefore theoretically of no use to us. Saints and Norwich lost. A barnstorming performance by our lads against the best team in Europe. Brought a smile back to my face
  4. Perhaps this is the answer. Sell kids tickets for £1 for EVERY game in ALL areas at the turnstiles for ANY unsold seats. First come, first serve on the day of the match. ALL kids tickets £3 if bought in advance ( for those of us who want to book ahead and ensure where our kids sit when we have season tickets ). OR allow adult season ticket holders to bring a child FOR FREE to ANY game by 'phoning or attending the ticket office the day before the game ( to allow adult price sales ) and collecting the ticket at the ground ( again first come, first served ). We need to turn the disgraceful embarrassment of empty seats into an opportunity. IF WE CANNOT FILL SEATS GIVE THEM AWAY TO KIDS.
  5. It's not rocket science. Blackburn has too small a population to support premiership football in the long term without significant subsidy. We therefore need another Jack Walker or fans from elsewhere. Folk here are being obtuse about the Lancashire United bit. No one can seriously advocate a change of name. We will ALWAYS be Blackburn Rovers and play in Blue 'n' White halves, hopefully with the red rose proudly prominent. We need to become the team that a large proportion of Lancashire supports. Not all need to attend but we need an increase in fans to be the base of the pyramid of those that attend. Manchester United are not called England United are they?? GEDDITT. Our crowds drop so rapidly because we have no fans to replace those who have become disenchanted, unlike the big City clubs. Anyone see the Sky feature on the coaches sent out from Charlton to bus in fans from miles away. They were accused by many lower division teams of poaching their fans. That is the way we must go to stay where we are. I admit that this will be very difficult to achieve and efforts to date have failed. The traditional so called working class fans will stick with what they know ( yes - the loyal hard core ) but the middle class who even in this area are now a large majority which is steadily growing are not so loyal. It is these fans we need to attract. YES I know that many on this board would rather watch us play a couple of divisions below where we are now with other like minded loyalists. I suspect you are going to get what you crave. The point about exciting football is a load of rubbish. People will NOT NOT NOT attend to watch us if we play with ten Okochas but lose all the time. Too many of you are also confusing what you want with what we must do to attract new fans and get the so called part timers back. You do not count as much as you will mostly continue to attend whatever. You want to see the shirt worn by those that would die for the cause and have always dreamed of doing so as you always have. Get real. If you really believe this you are watching the wrong players. Stick to primary school football. The wages bit is also irrelevent to attracting new fans. Generally the higher the wage bill the higher the league position as you get the best players ( and guess what?? NONE of them are loyal ). I do not expect the hard core loyalists to agree but the game has moved on. Chelsea and Man U are supported both from near and far by millions of affluent fans. Can we ever compete? Will we even try? Would we be better off by being relegated a division or two and supporting so called honest sloggers? Be honest - how many of you would actually prefer that?? Rugby League anyone.............
  6. I have a car to sell. It keeps breaking down and is on the small side but when it is running it handles well, is fairly nippy and does the job. I am going abroad on tuesday and have to sell it by then, otherwise it will sit on my drive rusting and I will not get much for it when I return in the summer. My wife could drive it when I am away but I will not let her as I am in a strop with her. Frankly if I do not get an offer for it I will send it to the scrapyard. The previous owner holds it in sentimental value as he lost his virginity in it. He has offered me £4,500 to save it from the scrapyard but his is a rude knobbler and I will not let him have it. To be honest if any of you were to come round here I would let you take it for nothing, but don't tell anyone that as it will ruin my chances of selling it. I am in a quandary. Will anyone offer me £6,000 for it??
  7. I really cannot understand this view held by many of our fans. Explain what?? That he is desperate to return to his beloved DeRangers?? It would be utterly insane for him to do other than keep quiet. If the move takes place THEN he will talk. If he stays put then all he could achieve by talking now is to ensure he could never play for us again if the move breaks down if he is let down by the big talking small knobbed Jocklers. There are only two outcomes that we could possibly accept - either a decent cash payment OR to keep a player that will continue to play well for us in a midfield that will now free him up to show us what he can do thanks to our new hod-carrying-spear-chuckler. Those of you who think he should rot in the reserves if he stays are either deluded as to our status in the premiership or dingles in disguise. It seems to me that Ferguson is trying to keep all his options open and only by keeping very quiet until all is resolved can he possibly do so. I would also like to congratulate our club who have handled a very difficult situation as well as possible
  8. Just back... ....one moment of "quality" and it won the three points... We need to wise up... Cheats prosper.......If you can't beat 'em, join 'em............... .......Spit the blackdog has a talent beyond us....... Savage will be a Rovers legend...... ......pity he signed a few years after a certain messageboard poster recommended him......... MGP is starting to shape up ......... YEEHHHH!!!!............ I don't like him much but just how much do we miss El Dikler!!!!!!!!! Sign a really big thug up front and we will be sussed. Andy Todd - Rovers legend and the obvious choice for the club captain that the fans deserve........... Monday 24th Jan.........The most miserable day of the year.
  9. Fleurkerlin' what the Holy Fleurk..... First post in several weeks that transcends intestinal flatus. DELETE IT NOW !!
  10. "Screened the defence?" Sounds like footballese for Flitcroft's usual trick of standing around doing bugger all. Still, what do I know? There's only Scotty on this board sufficiently qualified to pass judgement on a player's ability!. I just tell it like I saw it Rev. Unlike others who seem to make their mind up before the game. Revidge is king, are you listening On the pitch, snow is glistening A beautiful sight At Ewood tonight Walking in a Scotty wonderland. Gone away is the BLUE bird Here to stay is a new bird He sings us a song As we go along Walking in a Scotty wonderland. On the board we can build a spokesman Then pretend that he is not a clown He'll say: Are you worried? We'll say: No man But you can be the job When you're in town. Later on, we'll conspire As we dream by the fire To face unafraid The games that we've played Walking in a Scotty wonderland. On the board we can build a spokesman And pretend that he is not a clown We'll have lots of fun with mister spokesman Until the agitators knock him down. When it snows, ain't it thrilling Though your prose gets a grilling We'll frolic and play, the Rovers way Walking in a Scotty wonderland. Walking in a Scotty wonderland Walking in a Scotty wonderland.
  11. Don't worry. Still LOWER tier tickets on sale today despite the notices to the contrary. It will be fun going to the breezeblock as the underdogs. Don't leave early
  12. 14 points out of 18.... That is easily premiership winning form. If we do that then we will qualify for Europe never mind stay up. We have 14 points with 21 games left. 37 points will probably be enough to stay up this season. We therefore need another 23 points ( 5 more wins, 8 draws and 8 losses ) That means that if we get the 14 points from 6 games that you say we must get then we will only need another 9 points from the remaining 15 games. Things are indeed bad, but nothing like as bad as you assume...
  13. Gamst Pedersen ?? ..........Isn't that a duck?
  14. NEJ is not a left back... Tugay and Ferguson mustn't play together in a 4:4:2... Gally is not yet ready to start games... Dickov is the heartbeat of our team but lacks premiership class... We lack height and pace throughout the side... Thompson needs to focus his talent and stop taking the wrong option at times... Matteo is at best a barely adequate central defensive reserve... The difference between the sides was the superb King and the occasional touches of class by the mainly ineffective Spurs side when going forwards... Must say I thing the way many posters here vary their opinions from game to game with the subtlety of a large seesaw with an obese Hippo at each end scarcely does the footballing knowledge creditability of this board much good... It's a marathon not a sprint... We will stay up. We all live in a yellow submarine.
  15. My kind o' poster you are buddy There again I'm a rabid racist bully-boy... Nice to see another intolerant fascist join us here... You take the Yids and I'll deal with the Coons... WELCOME................... @#/? Yes, well done. You have translated my entire post with one word and got it 100% correct. HURRAH
  16. My kind o' poster you are buddy There again I'm a rabid racist bully-boy... Nice to see another intolerant fascist join us here... You take the Yids and I'll deal with the Coons... WELCOME...................
  17. I note how there is very little press about the missiles thrown at Millwall players by West Ham fans on Sunday. I do not condone moronic racists but I seriously feel the media reaction has been hysterical and we have been branded in a way that reminds me of the methods used by the odious B.N.P. Would we have got less coverage and criticism if several of us had thrown objects at Dwight ? Sticks and stones obviously do not hurt anymore.
  18. I have only one thing to say to you Tnr after that last post.... ........and that word is BOVRIL .......
  19. Some folk didn't go to the game.... Some folk don't rate Emerton......
  20. That solves the mystery then. It was you mouthing off at Dwight Yorke. It was the scum what won it
  21. This is all about the P.C. nature of Bleur Britain... .......most people in Blackburn vote Labour... ........as you sow so shall you reap ...... To anyone who voted for the red scumblers... IT'S ALL YOUR FLEURKLIN' FAULT........
  22. is it cos we is blackburn ? ...... AYE !!
  23. Defence bloody awful. Bring back Gray. Short fit soon? and even Amo?? Tugay and Ferguson cannot play together. Central mid with Ferg before signings? At least Thommo looked good. Is there a role for Douglass?? And don't we need a target man up front... ......4:5:1 anyone? Emerton now a huge star. Reid very good today. Hughes changed things and they worked. I like the cut of his jib ......
