The £2m fee isn't official is it? Delighted with this signing, seems smart to make it just two years too - his age considered - and it probably won't be impossible to extend it if he's still up for it by then, at 34. Right back, centreback (is it centre or center btw?) - good choice to buy utility players like that. -

It's not about the drivel, you'll just have to get used to that here. It can get heated now and then, but most of us manage to keep it civil regardless - which I am sure the mods will tell you unless you calm down a bit. That being said, welcome (back?) to the board. -

His "efforts" for Rovers has probably made him somewhat of a cult hero in Burnley by now.. -

De Stjil, White Blood Cells and Elephant - all good albums - but the latest album was a major disappointment. Anyone managed to grasp that one? -

Watched bits of the match on the net, he showed some decent touches and some neat passing from what I saw. Nugent looked good! -

My all time favourite thread, to be honest - how sad is that? edit: Obviously beaten by Lofty's rants, but I came in a few hours too late for that one.. -

Still think Beckham has enough class to warrant a place in the first eleven, never mind team, but I agree that both Terry and Gerrard are more suitable captains - and I also think McClaren is doing the right thing in trying to start the change of generation - no more Sol Campbell, give room for younger players like Dawson, King. He wanted to bring back Scholes though.. The exclusion of Beckham is perhaps also a sign that McClaren wants to play more direct football? Beckham on his day can do that too, but he has changed since leaving for Spain in my opinion, he is more aquainted with the Spanish style now, and as said - he can't beat a man like the good old British winger type. Hmm, possibly Bellamy. Will have to see it again to judge whether he waited out van der Sar or just got lucky.

"The coolest man on the pitch" - some commentator when Lucas sent Australia to the WC with his penalty. Quality pen. against Manure by the way..

If the rumours about dropping Beckham permanently is true, I don't know what to say to be honest. His work rate, his overall class, his technique and obviously set pieces and passing will be missed - the World Cup showed the techniqual gap between the English players and other so called "world class players" like Pirlo, Totti, a lot of the Germans and so on - in my opinion Beckham and Joe Cole were two out of around twenty to qualify in that contest. -

Add "Brant Bjork" to that search queue. -
If he stays, Lucas Neill should be the first choice, unless McCarthy or Roberts are known for taking penalties? Robbie Savage or MGP could also be candidates methinks, but Lucas is my first choice.

Martin Andresen has probably been the best midfielder in Norway this season, as captain and undisputed boss of the Brann midfield. Bjørnebye with a flying start to his coaching in Start, winning the two first matches against solid opposition. Will be up against Andresen and the two Scots Charlie Miller and Robbie Winters tonight though, Start - Brann Oh, and sporting director Lars Bohinen saw Vålerenga lose 3-2 to Rosenborg last night End of Norwegian update! -

Always thought Lennon was a solid midfielder, getting on a bit now though perhaps? Will be interesting to see how O'Neill performs, he's got some work to do, and it won't be easy under Deadly Doug. -

Fair enough. They would still have a strong enough team to achieve promotion though, with Mutu, Del Piero, Buffon, Tudor, Nedved, Zebina etc.. -

A bit naive, I think they would be able to hold on to a few players regardless. I don't have full economical insight in Turin, but as far as I know they still have powerful people behind the scenes, I'm sure they could afford a solid loss for two seasons if it meant Serie A and Champions League football in three years.
