  1. Henning Berg says: Jonathan has a lot of pace and a fine left foot. He makes good runs and has the right attitude. He trains well, and can develop into a good player if he continues to do so. He's a student on year two on NTG (Norway's school for top athletes) and is described as a very quick striker - but he can play in many different positions. He hails from the northwestern part of Norway, the same area as J.A Riise, but lives in Oslo and has played for several clubs here before joining Lyn. As said above, I haven't seen him play, would surprise me if Rovers were to give him a contract - but a trial to "get him into the system" is probably not a bad idea.
  2. City wants Koren This guy has been a class act all season in Norway, a great creative midfielder. Wouldn't say the EPL is the league that fits him the best, but for free he's a good signing in my opinion.
  3. Norwegian media reports that Gamst Pedersen has broken a rib.
  4. I was mainly talking about the 2nd half, where he dominated by running into good positions to receive a pass, and then spread it wide or nick it through. (e.g. when Benni fell in the penalty area from an offside position, a great through ball) He worked hard, and actually put in a few good tackles and blocks too. Friedel - 7 (did well, but the rebound on Saha's shot - why not push it out for a corner?) Neill - 4 Zura - 7 Ooijer - 7 Emerton - 6 Gamst Pedersen - 5 Tugay - 8 Mokoena - 6 Bentley - 5 Benni - 6 Nonda - 5 Off to bed now, let's try to forget this match as soon as possible. Incidentally, are there any decent central midfielders in our reserves atm? Where the hell is Ciaran Donnelly and Jon Douglas when you need them, eh? Or Flitty for that matter..
  5. My account has been 'tapped' too - never thought I'd say this - but I'm delighted! If you do call, Ozzie, please let me know the answer - will certainly be checking my mailbox the next two weeks..
  6. Incredibly stupid yellow card and no real addition when coming on today. Must disagree btw, 1864, if that's a real interview (looks fake?) he's a total knob.
  7. http://www.crewealex.premiumtv.co.uk/page/...~925609,00.html So Taylor wasn't allowed to play in the FA Cup for Crewe, surely that must mean something - at least Sparky will keep his options open in terms of perhaps taking him back.
  8. Jonathan Parr A golfplaying 18-year old midfielder / striker, Manure fan, made his debut for Lyn in the top series in April. Has played ten matches in total by now, which is very good at his age - his club (John Obi's club before joining United and Chelsea btw) are one of the best clubs in the youth area. Haven't seen him myself (detest FC Lyn), but have heard that he is a talented player.
  9. Tugay; another brilliant performance. Flawless in possession, and some wonderful passing especially in the 2nd half. Credit to Ooijer aswell, who did extremely well to be in the right place at the right time when crosses came in. Lucas had a nightmare, I'll let him blame the injury a bit though..
  10. Haha, spot on. I wish there was a Damien Duff at 16-smily on here though
  11. As Sparky has said dozens of times, it's a question of when the right player is available at the right price - he just won't buy if one of those two doesn't fit. Which I support. I'm sure he'll bring in a few new faces in January, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it's limited to a loan in central midfield - we just don't have enough cash to spend on "decent" signings..
  12. David 'Bully Boy' Beckham? Victoria at Blackburn Mall? Well, Jordan managed..
  13. Is it? Steven Reid - soon 25. Morten Gamst Pedersen - 25. David Bentley - 22. Aaron Mokoena - 26. Sergio Peter - 20 on Sunday. Zurab Khizanishvili - had his 25th birthday on Monday. Ryan Nelsen - has his 29th birthday next Sat. Lucas Neill - soon 28. Brett Emerton - soon 27. Jason Roberts - soon 28. Franny Jeffers - soon 26. Then there is Gally, Derbyshire, Brown ++ coming through on the right side of twentyfive. Can't be arsed myself, but if you compare that to most of the other sides in the Prem, I think we'll do allright. Remember, most players reach their peak at 27-28-29, especially defenders.
  14. How can you possibly say that, you haven't even seen him in action?
  15. Lord of the Rings? Anyway, great Starwarsy preview! For the record, a 2-2 with goals from MGP and David Bentley. Rooney and Saha for Manure..
  16. No ###### Sherlock I have the utmost respect for Sparky, but foreseeing those two injuries might be out of even his reach. To add to our midfield problems, all three are quite likely to earn themselves a suspension or two this season aswell.
  17. Not sure what his best position is, but if Mickey Gray is called a defender left, then Reto Ziegler sure as hell is too. 2,5m + Ziegler for Neill anyone?
  18. Thanks for that, been wondering what that really was about. Thought it might be either; Bags seeing what a bad man Costello was, or; Bags being an informant too. As for the ending, the whole thing ended a bit too quick after building up towards this ending for two hours. But all in all, a great film, I'll be watching it again soon to catch up on some details.
  19. He wasn't "good" before his injury either, he was one of the best strikers in Europe at the time. Anyway, I agree with SR, he isn't Bellamy/Henry quick, but he has enough pace to cope as a fairly physical striker.
  20. Really liked the Departed. Might need a few years to grow on me though.. Jack is huuuuge
  21. Ok, Nonda has been with the club for two months now, what are the verdicts? I'm quite pleased myself, after seeing him not impress that much for Roma (I was just waiting for Cassano though, so might be a bit biased that opinion) - he's been good, though a bit unlucky with injuries. We'll certainly need him injury-free now that Roberts is out. Decent pace, strong and decent in the air - haven't seen that prodigal (sp?) goalscorer yet though. I'm not at all against signing him permanently.
  22. It's Crewe. I like the idea of Lucas in midfield, alongside Tugay of course. I can't help liking the idea of 4-5-1 either, after some really poor showings of late. With Benni dropping down there, we would still have flair and pace/strenght upfront in Nonda.
  23. I tend to agree with you 6, but I don't think this is one or the other, we can do both. Give Toogs a new one year (or ten for all I care) contract, and sign one or two new central midfielders. Oh, and being forced into the transfer market isn't necessarily a good thing, the best players will not be signed in a hurry..
