  1. Wouldn't be the first time. Not directly comparable, but Steffen Iversen in England and Steffen Iversen in Norway are two totally different players injurywise. He never really had time to recover and he often played with injuries for Spuds..
  2. Danko Jones, brilliant!! Good trash talk is always fun, and his badass attitude was underbuilt by an energetic performance. "Lovercall" - great song. John Garcia stepped in to play four or five songs aswell, including a song by his former band Kyuss. Good night!
  3. Tugay offers a lot in terms of not losing possession and distributing - not necessarily the final pass. That's just as important, using few touches and by doing that give the receiving player more time.
  4. Danko Jones tonight, JR Ewing + Heroes and Zeros on Saturday and Motorpsycho on Tuesday. Busy week in Oslo..
  5. Ah yes, forgotten about that one, the original is also on the Kill Bill soundtrack I believe. Nothing beats surprising cover songs. (E.g. Fran Healy singing Britney Spears) EDIT: The song I was referring to is called "It ain't easy", originally published by Ron Davies, but known for being a Bowie-song. (actually, Jack White said "This is a Bowie-song", at Roskilde..)
  6. A bit off-topic, but has anyone tried "Guitar Hero"? Now, my guitar playing is limited to a C, a G and a D, which makes this game even more entertaining - kinda' makes you feel like a guitar hero. (erm) Anyway, good fun before a night out, the day after or any other day of the week.
  7. Saw them in Denmark this summer, fantastic concert. Not only Jack White's redefining of 'entertainment', but also the extremely solid backup band. I also liked that Brendan whatshisname's vocals - did they cover David Bowie by any chance?
  8. Indeed. Reminds me of "Big Club Relegation" last season, I'm absolutely delighted to see their poor run continue. Petty, I know.
  9. Probably the last chance for his agent before being jailed, theno, you're right about that.
  10. Here's the goal I don't know to be honest, hard to tell from this video. Someone's not doing their job, that's for sure.
  11. Possibly Somerset, I just noticed Ooijer standing in front of Bellamy, he wasn't marking anyone. But maybe Sparky has a few players with zonal marking? Wakefield: No. Someone is to blame, in this case I think Ooijer might be the one. It's got nothing to do with him being a scapegoat.
  12. Both Emerton and Lucas played well, but - just like most of their teammates - looked very tired the last twenty minutes. What we did see clearly this match: Tugay is a liability in defence, his slow movement created a lot of space for the opponents. Going forward though, or more specifically - keeping possession - he was brilliant. Benni showed some great technique, Bentley a few awesome crosses. Terrible marking for the goal, unless Ooijer has a zonal task in there - he's to blame.
  13. And yes, Boumsong is a top defender. Just not for Newcastle!
  14. That's probably his most valuable asset, Neekoy - since he can play in all positions in the back four - he would be a good squad player for them for £3m or so. He's a better footballer than e.g. Oleguer, and in my opinion not behind players like Belletti, van Bronckhorst or Silvinho in overall quality. Would rather see him sign for someone like them than Liverpool too..
  15. I find myself watching this over and over again.. Porch McCready and Ament looking good
  16. It's so predictable.. But the obvious lack of ambition aside - would Lucas even want to go there, with his Millwall past? It would be stupid not to sign him for Liverpool in the summer, but who knows - maybe Rafa's decided to look elsewhere?
  17. Another quality "article" from the newsbreakers over at soccervoice.. Shock - Neill might leave us for Liverpool. Or someone else. Or maybe he will stay here. Let's write an article about it.
  18. I can second that, Cletus. Saw Dylan at Roskilde festival this summer, and it wasn't particularly inspiring stuff. The biggest Dylan-fans probably enjoyed it, but the man is getting older and weaker it seems, and can't play his guitar properly anymore. You can probably figure out for yourselves which songs he will and will not play then. Not having the time to queue up for the front boxes, we had to settle for standing far back watching - and when Mr. Dylan in addition to being less energetic than ever demands to be filmed from one side only (he thinks he looks better from that side, allegedly) it's not the cracking show it could and should have been. I absolutely love the Highway 61 Revisited album, but not even a few of those songs made me think I was seeing the legend Bob Dylan live. The man clearly knows how to write songs still, but his live performance was disappointing to say the least. With another ageing artist performing the best show the Orange Stage has ever seen later that same week (Roger Waters)..
  19. I'm actually surprised that no one here knows the drummer personally, given the fact that he's always there for matches? I still haven't seen one post of defence for the man?
