VERY interesting lineup today!! Friedel Zura, Todd ©, Nelsen, Neill Emerton, Savage, Reid, MGP Bentley, Bellamy Peter, Kuqi, Dickov, Mokoena, Enckelman Surprised to see Pongolle not taking any part again (!) and would've liked to see Nelsen keep the armband. Good to see Sparky measuring the opponent and removing Gray for the battle against Pennant !

I believe this till the day he's signed for someone else - not necessarily because Bellamy says so, but because I don't think Sparky would've allowed such a silly clause.

Why is everyone so negative towards Uriah Rennie? He's ideal for our games, he's waaaay more lenient than the other reffies. Never gives a freekick other than assaults, which suits our aggressive style very well - I for one was glad to see him selected for our game !

This also explains our Toddy's lack of presence the last few matches.. but then again, they also have Robbie Williams in their team. Looking completely different than on the telly. Everyone gains a few pounds on the tv-screen I guess.. edit: feeling a bit silly after reading scott's post above. oh well..

¨ I guess we'll have to agree to disagree then I do find it strange though, because I have been critical towards MGP for months, and this is the first game I actually found myself thinking; Gamst has performed well and created a lot of opportunities today.

Alonso man of the match? I can go with that, he did a lot of defensive work and supplied the attacking line with good passes. I would pick Carragher myself though, the first player to quiet Bellamy this season. As for Pedersen, my post on page twelve. I think it was his best game in weeks.

I actually think MGP did very well today, a bit surprised to read your post after this one, Shilito. His set pieces was excellent all afternoon, and he also took Finnan on once or twice, which is rare. Also, a few great crosses, overall a good performance from him imo! Reid was great aswell, deservedly man of the match! Savage on the other hand, did the physical business 1st half, but disappeared a bit and his passing was not good at all today! That counts for Dickov aswell, even though it was a tough game for him against two good central defenders- Kuqi should've come on earlier! Bentley showed glimpses of class, but not consistantly enough. I guess you can say the wingers was the problem in a way, since we needed people to run at the fullbacks with Liverpool being so tight at the back - but overall I think both wingers did ok! Maybe Emerton and/or Peter could've given us another dimension, I'm not sure. I am a bit disappointed with our attacking play, a lot of poor passing towards Bellamy or Dickov was intercepted by Carragher and Hyypia. A bit one-dimensional, and easy to pick out for the defenders. Bring on Birmingham, an absolute must-win!

Cissè didn't even understand he was in an offside position. His intelligence seems to be around the Forrest Gump-mark, he's just another athlete with boots on. As for Dickov, he's been absolutely shocking lately. Kuqi did well when he came on today, but against Brum I'd like to see Bentley upfront with Bellers and Emerton on the right. edit: Forgot about Pongolle..

Todd is not in the team because of Zura / Nelsen's good partnership, simple as that. As for Dickov, only Sparky knows I guess. No better options? No Kewell, no Gerrard, no Crouch. Good news!

You'll have to be an expert to see the relevance, mate. SO important to get a win here, it's arguably one of the toughest matches we have left.
