  1. My favourite three players were Dunn, Duff and Jansen when we came up. Now it finally looked like we were getting one back, the local boy, and he seems to be off to Bolton - anywhere but Bolton!!!
  2. I really hope he doesn't sign for Bolton - would be another kick in the teeth.
  3. I hope he comes back and Hughes gives him a kick up the arse. He's 27 now - about time he grew up.
  4. I'm all for us signing Dunn. 1) If he's ever going to recapture the form he showed when he was younger its with Rovers 2) It really isn't a "big risk" at the price and the wages he'll have to accept 3) Local Lad - he WILL add people to the gate 4) We're very short of cover in Midfield 5) He WANTS to play for Rovers. This isn't about Money like 99.9% of the players we could go for. 6) He's got the ability to change a game - very few of our players have this 7) We can't afford to buy the best anymore - so taking a chance on someone who's lost his way is all we can do 8) Hughes knows what he's doing - and if he gets him as fit as the rest of the lads and he gets a bit of luck with injuries - we'll be laughing at Brum again!
  5. I can't help but feel Birmingham will be a pain with this one. I think he'll come at the end of January after a long and drawn out negotiation.
  6. What price were we?
  7. I was watching Skysports news last night - and Tony Gale was doing the game. He was talking about Lucas - and his opinion was his best position was right-back. Gale then went on to make a bit of an idiot of himself. "I remember when Ray Harford signed Neill and he was telling me what a great player he was going to be" He sounded like my Nan making up a story.
  8. I've always thought that! He should score more with his shooting.
  9. The good thing about his sending off against Spurs is that he should pretty fresh tonight even at 36! He should get the time on the ball to show what he can do.
  10. Apparantly they call it him because its easier than Shabani
  11. Apart from our 3-2 defeat at WHL last season - these matches have usually been low scoring. Think the four games before that were 0-0, 0-0, 0-1, 0-1. I'm going for 1-0 to Spurs with Keane scoringa controversial winner involving someones hand and maybe a rabbit.
  12. I personally think this is the biggest factor in dwindling crowd attendancies. Nail on the head mate!
  13. http://www.physioroom.com/news/english_pre...njury_table.php Spurs have overtaken us in the Injury Table - they look like they've got a few injuries too! Although all of theirs seem to be very short-term compared to ours.
  14. Were we not linked with Baird when he first made his debut for Southampton? Sure I read that somewhere - this was back in the Souness days of course.
  15. Sort of related. Does anyone think we should try and loan Jon Obi Mikel from Chelsea in January? Apparantly he's fallen out with Mourinho due to his poor attitude in training - and he hasn't been in the Chelsea squad since being sent off on his debut. I know we don't want players with poor attitude in training - but it'd give him a chance to show Mourinho what he could do - so he'd have to perform well for us. Mourinho claimed him to be one of the worlds best young players when he signed him - I think he could do a job for us in the short-term.
  16. I'm surprised you haven't heard of Foster. He is a Premiership regular - and has been in very good form this season. Went from being a chef to the England squad in just a few years. As for the squad. How on earth does Kieran Richardson get in? He's the biggest waste of space I've ever seen.
  17. "Then probably the miss of the season came after Saha's shot was too much for Friedel to handle and the resulting parry fell to Rooney only for the scouser to miscue with little left to do!" I've seen far worse misses this season. Did anyone see Fabregas and Rosickys misses against CSKA at the Emirates? They were both far worse.
  18. In fairness - you do raise some interesting points Vinjay - but then shoot yourself in the foot in other places. So Rovers fans are too lazy to do anything about Williams? Then you go on to say you didn't go to the BRISA AGM as you "doubt you would be able to restrain yourself listening to Williams lies" I'm not happy with us being mediocre either - but I think we're actually doing pretty well on a limited budget. We're in a bad patch - but we'll come through it. Rick
  19. Commons is a class act. Way to good for that division! Is he a Forest fan or was that a dream?
  20. I want a copy!
  21. Obviously never seen Rachel Unitt - who is a footballer and very much a woman
  22. Beckhams just to cover for the 37% of games that Dunn will miss based on recent injuries.
  23. I see what you're saying. However, isn't it the case that the Autobahns are just as safe as English motorways?
  24. Anyone think we should try to sign that David Dunn lad from Birmingham? I heard he used to play for us a long time ago.
  25. Just out of interest - How does this compare to Racism? When I had questioned whether it was any worse to use a racist insult than call someone fat the arguments were: 1) You can't choose your race 2) Black people suffered years of prejudice Isn't this the same as women? So surely sexism is just as bad as racism - yet it's fine to make sexist jokes on here? I wish someone would print me a set of politically correct rules lol!
