  1. Go as a pantomime cow. Then you both get in!
  2. I'm not going to tempt fate with a prediction (didn't make a prediction for either game in the promotion season). Whoever scores for us will become my hero, I'd love to see Stead or MGP getting the goals- but it doesn't really matter who gets them.
  3. I got my first league win of the season yesterday too. Got an attendance of 18,500 against the worst team in my division- so looks like my big investment in the ground will pay off. Playing a level 3 team in the cup this week, putting out second string so will get hammered. PS. My youth pull was crap. TSI 100, best quality was inadequate scoring. I've got two solid and two passable strikers so its no good to me. One of my solid strikers has scored 12 goals in 9 games since I bought him- well worth the investment at level 6.
  4. I think Teamtalk like him too- though not sure it's his football that they like "With his willowy figure, mop of blond hair and Hollywood smile, Morten Gamst Pedersen looks more like the lead singer in a boy band than the in-form member of the Premiership's supposedly most-notorious purveyors of strong-arm tactics"
  5. http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details.sd?playerid=21488 11 starts for Rovers, 5 goals. That's very impressive for a winger.
  6. I'm up for it, even if I do give someone an easy passage into the next round. My clubs got the infrastructure set up, need to get some money together now to get a decent side together. Think my investment in youth has paid off so far though. I've got 20 players excluding my coach, and 7 of them have come through the youth team. I've got 2 passable keepers, 1 passable defender and 1 solid defender, 1 solid winger, one solid playmaker and one excellent playmaker (whose also got passable defending). It's cost me a lot of money over the last 8 months or so, but think it's definitely been worth it. This weekend will be the first time I've promoted someone from my "excellent" youth academy.
  7. Hello. thought i'd add my team to the mix. It's Leyland Rovers. Only been playing a couple of seasons, finished 5th,4th, then 2nd (on goal difference) so far. I've managed to make my youth team reach excellent rating, and have built my ground up to 42,000. Just the team needs work now. I've managed to scrape into the 3rd round of the cup, got a home game against a division 3 side, so hopefully a decent attendance. I'm training my midfielders, got 4 excellent playmakers aged 19-21. The 19 year old one can only be a week or two away from formidable. Not sure whether to sell him or build my team round him. What you think?
  8. I actually found myself wanting United to win I'll hang my head in shame.
  9. Seem to remember having to be in our seats about 2 hours before kick off, and only being allowed out about 45 minutes after kick off. Everyone was standing all game- and I left with a spliting headache. Brilliant atmosphere- the Rovers fans put the Dingles to shame.
  10. We didn't sell all our tickets when we played them in the league. I hope they make sure that the loyal fans get first shot at the tickets- but we better sell them all. Some fans will worry about potential trouble, and there are the ones who wouldn't pay to enter turf moor. I was there during the promotion season- one of my best memories of football. We must have sung none stop for 3 and a half hours.
  11. Noticed that myself. A win would also put us 5 points from 8th spot. Should be interesting to see how Sparky does given a full season. The top three are light years ahead of the rest, but apart from that I think the leagues pretty open. Everton don't have anything special and look where they are in the league! They were rubbish last season too. 1-0 win tonight with Savage scoring and getting booked. There will also be a funny moment when a Bolton player trips on the ball, probably around about the half hour mark.
  12. Unbelievable! Do you actually read anything anyone else says?
  13. Well he did learn something off Jonny Wilkinson afterall
  14. You'd rip Chelsea's hand off for that offer. Parker is a very good player, and while he isn't as good as Gerrard- he could do a job. In Duff they'd be getting a very special player- and then 20m to strengthen in other areas. I don't think there is a player in the world that I'd turn down 20m, duff, and parker for. A united fan I know said he'd sell Ruud for that offer.
  15. That is unbelievable. Leeds really are rubbish.
  16. I usually agree with what you say 1864Roverite, but I gotta disagree here. Carrick is vastly overrated, certainly not the kind of player we should be wasting any money on.
  17. So who is who on the team photo? A few lads looking in the peak of phsical condition
  18. ..and the 17m we got for Duff has helped Rangers, Millwall, Huddersfield, Feyenoord, Parma, Stuttgart Kickers, and Villa. Looking at that list we do appear to have wasted Abramovich's money- with the exception of Huddersfield.
  19. *yawn* Don't let him wind you up. The man clearly knows nothing about football and just enjoys winding people up.
  20. O'Leary is fast becoming my least favourite person
  21. Exactly. I hope he does move to Man Utd, just to show what a load of rubbish the badge kissing antics were. Can you imagine if we'd have been relegated a few years ago, and Burnley had got into the premier....i'll stop now
