I've seen tickets for England V Trinidad (twice) and England V Sweden (once) since they've been doing the re-sale tickets. Unfortunately, as soon as you click them someone has already taken them. There has been tickets for Brazil, France and Spain too.

Met Jon Douglas in a club in Preston one Wednesday night just after we'd appointed Hughes. He was very happy we'd gone for Hughes and was really down to earth. He wouldn't tell anyone that he was a footballer, and just wanted to have a normal night out.

According to the Daily Mirror "England Ashes hero and Newcastle United fan Steve Harmison has been awarded a seat for life at St James' Park" Surely we should be rewarding our cricket heroes not punishing them

I've just registered. I'm not sure what the hell I'm doing. Anyone got any tips? Hattrick seems much simpler- but I think the extra detail in this might be better once I get my head round it. -
Interesting quote about half way down the article. It's a shame Matts good friend from Steps doesn't have the same faith that Hughes does http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/4240432.stm

Not that I'm bitter but its "no crib for a BED" Anyway- well done- much deserved win. Sven has to go NOW. They've looked poor for awhile now- so it isn't a knee jerk reaction. The decision to bring Hargreaves on for the last 10 minutes summed it up nicely. Baffling. Gerrard has been rubbish for England for awhile too - but I blame the role he's playing. Possibly a stupid idea- but I'd love to see Psycho in the job. Commands instant respect from the players, and they'd certainly be motivated. Maybe have him as assistant under Big Sam or Curbs for the time being. -

pg - I sent that woman a private message - and this is what she replied with: "Yes, very "unlucky". It's bad enough that the HT game engine injures and redcards the top players in a match to ensure that supporters win, but when he gloats about it, that's really low. By the way, where did that slimebag post my private message anyway?" -
Sutton definitely got one cap.

Cheers Bob. I've got 6 Chelsea players, 1 Liverpool, 1 Arsenal, 1 United and 2 Rovers. Built my team on good defence and cheapish attack. -

Speaking of fantasy football- does anyone know the transfer code for the Daily Telegraph game for this week? I need to replace Gary Neville in my mighty side. A very respectable 1013th place out of over 260,000 teams -

They'll be up for it- but we should really be looking to win games like West Ham. They finished 6th in Division One- and we've got to look at it as a good opportunity for 3 points. On the other hand- West Ham will be looking at it as a game they should win- so should be interesting. -
That should be "I made a spelling mistake"
-
Maybe it is- I just knew there was a number he liked being- and it isn't 9. So maybe Kuqi will be the new number 9. I'd like it to be given to Jansen. EDIT: He is 77 at Porto, but was 17 at Ajax and I think thats his preffered number. Think he chose 77 at Porto, because 17 wasn't available.
-
Does Benni not like the number 17 shirt? (I know he has a lucky number- not sure which one though)
-
Arsenal (A) West Ham (H) Bolton (A) Man Utd (H) Fulham (H) ROVERS (A) Wouldn't it be funny if Rovers away was Souness' last game in charge . It's quite a tough start- and Newcastle like to sack Managers early.

Happy with the fixtures. What is slightly disappointing is- Our opening fixture could've been a trip to Deepdale. That would've been fantastic. -

Finished my second season last night. Slipped from 5th to 6th on the final day of the season. Won the league cup and was runner up in the UEFA cup. Derek Riordan won supporters player of the season for the second year running. Really can't recommend him highly enough for about 325k at the start. The board have given me 5.9m to spend this summer- which is an improvement too. I've signed Fabrice Fernandez for 500k and Ricardo Sousa for 100k. Looking for a quality forward with the rest of my money. I've got Stead, Gallagher, Riordan and Lebohang Mokoena- who all score a lot of goals for me- but fancy one more striker. Gianfranco Zola was a good buy for a season- but he's turning 40 now- so let him go. At the moment my starting line up for next season is looking likely to be: Friedel- McEveley, Nelsen, A.Mokoena, Neill - Savage - Pedersen, Reid - Viana - Riordan, Stead. I've found a lot of the Rovers players come good- so not really much need for too much chopping and changing. -
Good to see the Rovers managers job is more secure than Ferguson and the Champions League winners.

My first game was in 1994 at home to Southampton when I was 10. Rovers won 3-2, and Super Atko scored the first goal I ever saw. Le Tissier got goal of the season, and Atkins goal was a goal of the month contender. Shearer had a penalty saved- but knocked in the re-bound. Remember the game very well. -
It's barely going to hurt someone of his wealth- I really don't see the point. They need to find another way of disciplining people on that much money. Ie. A fine of two weeks wages for Rio Ferdinand won't bother him- he'll still get 100k over 3 weeks. Losing two weeks wages for 99% of supporters would be a major problem. Heard once Strachan commenting on Jay Bothroyd. He fined him two weeks wages for something- and Jay turned round and said money wasn't important to him so he didnt care. Then Strach banned him from playing for a month and he "cried like a baby". Another example of a stupid fine is that given to Chelsea over the Ashley Cole affair. Its spare change to a club like that- it obviously didn't discourage them- see Arnesen. Deducting them points would hurt more.

Which ones? Just search for them by name. Managed to add one other signing to my squad- 39 year old Gianfranco Zola signed a one year deal. Think he'll be good for a year- as his technical stats are very impressive. Decided to try and bring Martin Taylor back to Rovers- as he can play anywhere across the back four- but couldn't manage to get Birmingham to accept an offer within my wage budget. Don't really want to sign anyone who isn't pushing for a first team place- but its difficult with hardly any money. Might go for that Ouaddou guy from Fulham- cause he's about all I can afford.
