To be fair, I think he was about 18-19 then, so understandably he only had occasional sub appearances. Expecting (hoping!) for better from he and Clarkson soon though, otherwise I fear we’re just preventing more of our lads from progressing.

Completely preparing myself for the "we had plenty of bids in for strikers, but they were just out of our price range" spiel come Wednesday morning.

All of these loan signings for me is a case of Mowbray throwing enough sh*t at the wall and seeing what sticks. I’ll wager they’ll be more Barry Douglas than Harvey Elliot, but even if one has a half decent season, he won’t stop banging on about it for yonks afterwards. I just pray that he’ll be doing it at a different club next season.

Really hope this doesn’t force Carter out on loan. He needs to be in and around the first team.

I find it hard to believe that all these managers turned us down. It’s a damn cushty gig as Mowbray has proved for a number of years.

The stupidest part of that, is he’s out of contract next summer (yet again). Why on Earth would we care if he goes on loan and tears it up? It was this season or never. Just more drivel from Mowbray as you say.

Regardless of whether we bring in a handful of kids on loan to pad out the squad (looks likely), if we don’t bring in a half decent striker on a permanent deal then this window will have been a disgrace.
