  1. Well it's about people associated with football, but i've gotta say that this is a getting a bit boring now as it's turned in to "how many different footballers have commited a crime"
  2. I've got to say though I have been to Pompey away 3 times and it's a great away day... never been to Southampton so can't comment on that one
  3. It's one thing showing support for your brother in private amongst your family, but such behaviour in front of thousands of people in support of a common thug is wrong and a disgrace under these particular circumstances. If it was in support of his brother being ill as you suggest then of course that would be OK... completely different.
  4. So people who have been in jail shouldn't be allowed to work on there release? As for the booing, if he had been playing for Crewe the Crewe fans wouldn't have been booing... you know what football fans are like! As for Cahill I 100% agree that he should not have done that in support of his brother, the Hughes 'incident' had nothing to do with his crime but clearly Cahill's did.
  5. Just wait 'til we're 1-0 up against ManUre with 5 mins left on the clock... it WILL be rocking then
  6. Well if the majority of fans don't want a drummer (which is obviously isn't the case), they would all have jumped at the chance and taken the opportunity to sing/chant without him being there on the 2 occasions he has been missing this season, even if it was just to make a point!
  7. There were moments in the game where he would normally have started something... I think that's what people were waiting for...
  8. Terrible atmosphere from the first kick til last... the game wasn't much better either. He needs to come back for the Everton game
  9. It didn't seem any better to me either. BRING BACK THE DRUMMER
  10. Grimsby (promotion season) Was sat at the back with 2 posts in the way. As well as that the roof dipped and if you were standing it covered the goals at the other side... Definately the worst view at a football match ever!
  11. Well that's just the thing... are there enough people bothered? To back it up so far is 142 people on this poll and 30(?) on a petition that someone has drawn up (of which most will have voted in this poll also). This doesn't really represent a lot of our support. When I have spoken to people about the drummers they seem fine about it, the majority of the posters on the official MB seem to like them being there but on here the general opinion is that they are an annoyance. The only way to do it would be to give every season ticket holder the option to make a vote somehow. It would be interesting to see the result dont you think?!
  12. I've already put my point across about the drummers (that we should just have one). All I would like to add is that the 2 message boards (this and the official) are so divided on this issue... the majority on here would like them banned, dead, drum shoved up their a*se or whatever and the majority on the official site seem to like them...strange . I wasn't at the game today, were the drummer(s) and if so what is the verdict (as if i need to ask ) Also i'd like to say that I agree with 'Drummer Boys' comments that this issue (along with many othes) ends up with personal insults and people trying to point score over each other - especially if people don't go along with what the majority think. It's a message board at the end of the day and we should all respect each others opinions, after all we have no divided loyalties, we all love Rovers and want to see them do the best possible.
  13. The one drummer was fine but I agree that since the others have come along it has got a bit silly and has annoyed a lot more people. I won't be signing the petition as I think Billy has done a good job in getting the atmosphere going and i'd like it to continue... but preferably on his own or with someone who can do it properly!
  14. Yeah i remember this, only young at the time but still remember. Still have the highlights recorded on VHS somewhere!
  15. I would love to see a fairly big following from a foreign team, we only usually see 50 max!!!
  16. Don't believe everything you read I think it's more a case of 'swings and roundabouts' Most grounds in the Premier League do not have drummers and more often than not their atmosphere is terrible, Man United being the prime example especially with there being 76,000 on every week. On the other hand Liverpool also don't have drummers but regularly have a good atmosphere. Pompey have drummers and more and their ground is rocking every week, Ewood's been a great place to be for the last couple of games but can be equally as quiet sometimes so I don't think it is as black and white as "if you have a drummer you'll have a poor atmosphere or eventually it will be a poor atmosphere".
  17. Well surely it would have 'destroyed' it already seeing as the drummer(s) have been there for the last 10 years or so. The atmosphere is the last couple of games at Ewood have been fantastic. Obviously not everyone is going to like the same things but I think one drummer is sufficient. When the kids jumped on the band wagon it spoilt it i think.
  18. What a great idea as a present... I'd be well chuffed. As for finding these shirts the obvious suggestion would be e-bay but I get you've already gone down that route, apart from that i'm not too sure...it may be worth giving the club it'self a call to see if they have any old stock. No harm in trying. Sorry i'm not of much use but i'm sure if anyone else has any ideas then they will post to try and help you out! Good Luck, Ben.
  19. I wish there was a local match doing the same, I would definately go along.
  20. Definately get rid of the plastic horns... they sound so pathetic not like the good old air horns! Someone was blasting one of those in the JW stand every time City had a corner or free kick down that end. Could hear it from where I was sitting in the Riverside.
  21. As I said on the Man Citeh thread - my mind has been changed following his performances so far this season! Keep it up Dunny!
  22. Yeah it was fantastic - and full! From what I could see today there was only one drummer. Have we had a compromise?
