  1. al, gav and abbey have all gone on a walkabout together I think
  2. actually i don't think Theno would ever make the mistake of spelling 'amongst' in the way that you have there(unless its a very clever bluff) but still whoever you are your really not a new poster at all, which is a shame as new posters would be very welcome(as long as they aren't acting like total wums) and nobody's treating you like "dirt" we're just questioning your true identity(and Gav was a good shout there tomphil )
  3. Just to be clear, Im not advocating johnson as a potential bowyer replacement at all, he's seems to be doing a great job where he is and needs to spend at least another couple of years working closely with our under 21s
  4. D Johnson really does seem to be getting the best out of the players at his disposal, instilling an attacking and winning mentality into the team(shame our 1st team manager cant do the same)
  5. Royal arms up tockhalls, great steaknkindney pud.
  6. I watched the film when it came out, never bothered with the tv shows originally(i thought they looked a bit to much like that 'skins' rubbish but set in thw 80s) but im just starting to catch up on them now, ok so far, some very funny moments and hilarious characters, cant stand that woody character though, total dullard.
  7. under "Gaz"! yea hell come on as sub in the last 5 minutes and be played as a centre back.
  8. what an ugly little jumped up attention seeking gobs#### he is, as if he's in any position to criticise geldof, bono or anybody else's appearance.
  9. just to be clear i was only referring to all the great dramas and such(mainly american, some really good European shows and the occasional uk show) not the general everyday crud(soaps, quizz shows, reality durge, etc..) i mainly watch via on demand or downloads.
  10. how would you know if you never watch, its pretty unanimously accepted that this is a real golden age for tv shows, no matter what your tastes are there's probably at least 1 show to completely match your tastes. but go on though, what shows did you like in the past before it all became so "rubbish"?
  11. She is actually really funny, her full stand up sets are excellent and very smart, but then not everybody appreciates the same type of humour (which couldnt be more evident on this site at times) That said ive never really been a fan of mock the week, its always just felt really scripted and rehearsed to me.
  12. Its a hard show to describe without giving things away, but if you like breaking bad, fight club, house of cards, dexter, american psycho, twin peaks theres elements of all those things in it plus a ton more. And if your a tech/computer geek you will defintely love it(im neither of those but i can see how it would be massively appealing to those that are)
  13. Not much love for mr.robot then? (Though saying that im not sure if it's even officially aired in the uk yet?) Im upto episode 7, this is easily the best show on tv, total mind boggler though, not one for people that are only interested in watching mentally non-taxing disposable programmes
  14. totally agree on the title sequence(thank god its easy to skip forward on netflix) I found the latest season to light and soapy and i really miss jason biggs and his perspective on things from the outside, i thought that was a one of the aspects that set the show apart from other prison dramas(and i find biggs really funny)
  15. I really don't get the mass of strictly or x-factor, strictly's a repetitive borefest and x-factor is just big dumb juggernaut of trash(that said I do find celebrity big brother entertaining for some perverse reason) you've said that numerous times in the past and it never made much sense then either, Spartacus is one of my favourite films so I know where the line comes from, I just don't understand how its relevant in the contexts that you've used it, so can you please explain it to me?
  16. Sorry but I really cant be bothered reporting each of the last few posts individually... Even normal very cordial threads like this are infected with these diffs now, its now officially impossible for any friendly light-hearted discussions to happen anywhere on this site now, what really gets me is the complete lack of humour in their trash, if your going to squabble then at least be funny with it so its at least a little entertaining for everyone else.
  17. The newish one, Starwars rebels is actually really good for a kids cartoon, its a lot more starwarsy the clone wars seemed to be
  18. cluck me! just started watching Mr. Robot , just when you think the already great selection of tv shows around in recent years cant get any better or come up with something new and fresh You get this, Easily the most 'must see' show since breaking bad ended imo
  19. I got around to watching avengers 2 last night, not bad, just very forgettable, there was about 30minutes in the middle where i didnt know(or really care) what was even going on. There where some funny bantery moments as you'd expect from wheddon but the plot was just a bit of a mess and i even thought some of the cg fx where awful in places(which you wouldnt expect from a movie this size) I feel the tide could be Turining with the marvel films(particularly the avengets related films) and with all the dc and starwars films lined up over the next few years marvel really need to up there game.
  20. The lead actress in the Danish/swede bridge is pretty great in that role(and incredibly hot) and the lead male actor is really good aswell(shame he's said he doesnt want to return for the 3rd series) they make one of the best double acts on tv right now.
  21. Great tasting authentic Italian food is so simple to make, but to do it well you need good quality ingredients, time and patience, a good quality tomatos sauce for example should be simmered very gently for hours with the ocasional stir(not just chucking a couple of tins of tomatoes into a pan boiling it up for 20 mnutes, blitzing it with a blender and serving it) And fresh pizzas are a doddle and pretty quick to make once you know how to make the base(which is pretty simple) again its down to good quality simple ingridients for a great tasting topping though.
  22. Growing up with an Italian grandma no restaurants pasta sauce and meatballs(or rolled steaks with garlic) even comes close hmmmm hmmmmm
  23. I listen to a lot of podcasts during the day whilst working, I mainly prefer movie discussion podcasts(not Kermode&Mayo though, gone of them big time) I just recently started listening to 'the projection booth' podcasts(http://projection-booth.blogspot.co.uk/) , the projection booth podcasts are really in depth, well produced and have some really good informative interviews with people connected to eacg episodes chosen film inserted into theme between the discussion. also not totally film related but I listen to Chris Hardwick(and his sisterwifes!) 'the nerdist' podcast (http://nerdist.com/podcasts/nerdist-podcast-channel/)pretty religiously(although I do skip the odd episode if I have 100% no idea who the guest is)
  24. Sorry phil Im not knocking the equalizer, it was a solid entertaining film(and I'm looking forward to the sequel that's currently in the works) but I thought Denzel Washington was just in autopilot for that role, that said Washington in autopilot is still better than most actors on their best days, Have you seen him in 'training day' 'Malcolm X' 'American gangster' to name just a few of his best performances(training day was him at his very best though I think) a couple of my personal faveorite Washington films(though not particularly great films) 'Ricochet' and 'for queen and country' Also I noticed you have the original Robocop on your 'to watch' list, have you really never seen it before? you're really in for a treat if you haven't, such an iconic badass film, some might say the fx don't hold up, but I'm not havin that, I'll take stop motion and animatronic effects over cg any day of the week.
  25. I dont mind the food at the pack but its about as authenitic as a can of Heinz spaghetti.
