  1. I wouldn't say exaggerated. It is exactly what happened Wharton deal could have collapsed so the Owners said no to McGuire very early Suhail probably couldn't wait to feed the news back to Orlando Let's be real, any normal club would have waited until the bloke landed. He had hours in the air left. Palace are always going to sign Wharton - he's had his medical, they have money. I don't really go into JHRover's line of conspiracy at the club, but this fucking stinks. If we don't sign McGuire it will not be because the Club had "difficulties", it will be because they did their best to show they "tried"
  2. Yeah, Jackson's comments are telling Wharton will "definitely" sign. No definite about McGuire Get the Just Stop Oil boys in. Paint and chicken feathers over the directors box. This lot need to get gone
  3. Fuck off Venky’s. Hate is the only word I have
  4. I would resign if I was JDT Best midfielder sold for £20m, captain sent out on loan and all transfers with a fee cancelled It’s madness
  5. 🤣 The issue is that Mcfadzean has never really done a lot with those 561 career appearances. Well, except 3 relegations from the Championship I don't even know if he is the kind of father figure you'd want at the club. I honestly think Batth would have been a better deal. Getting in someone for experience only is only good if that experience is in winning
  6. McFadzean is a crazy signing. We may as well have signed Danny Batth..................... McFadzean used to play for Alfreton. I played against him in a friendly in either 2009 or 2010. He was a good player at that level to be fair. Think he was playing for England at the same time. He isn't actually that tall for a centre half. Just remember him being a bruiser, which is what defines centre halves at that level. A bit of a bully boy - which I suppose we are missing
  7. Your dislike of Broughton is irrational It simply has to be for the purpose of winding people up. You aren’t stupid
  8. £22m for your young prodigy sounds good. At a normal club We have never reinvested any of the money we make. That's why I still think it is silly people moan about the Brereton fiasco. Okay, we'd have got £8m, but for the team what does that even mean? We might sign a player for about £1m. Maybe that McGuire lad who I know absolutely nothing about. That's not reinvestment though Really we want to be signing McGuire and then a good, top level Championship midfielder for about £5m range for about £15k a week on a 4 year deal. That's how you reinvest the money from Wharton. Won't happen though
  9. When the Venkys took over, we lost our starlet to Utd It wasn't nice to see Jones go but you could understand it After over a decade of their ownership we now lose our stars to Crystal Palace. A phrase you would have laughed at if you were told that back in 2008 They are a blight on all things Blackburn Rovers. Until they go, nothing improves I am with JHRover on this one. The most sickening part is knowing it makes Waggott's and Madam's life that little bit easier I have enjoyed every minute of watching young Adam develop and play here. Sickening to lose him like this
  10. How far we have fallen Losing our own to a club like Palace so early in his career Fuck Venkys. The day they go will be the day this club becomes something I am proud of again
  11. Wrexhams keeper is a perfect example of what’s below us When people slag Leo off, who hasn’t played well, they should look at this guy to know just how many leagues above both our keepers are When you go down the football pyramid the standard of keeping shows the biggest skill gap
  12. If we can make India chase 200 it isn’t necessarily over
  13. It will be a reaffirming of commitment to the club They do this every time there is controversy How many owners in English football do you think have had to write half a dozen commitment speeches to the fans? It has become their go to weapon It is the typical "sorry love" and bunch of flowers after not coming home on Saturday night
  14. I don't think Wharton will move to Palace He has a good chance of starting there, but then you look at a player like Will Hughes. Okay he's a regular PL player now but to where he could have been, he has sort of stagnated a bit at Palace You have to hope those advising him are telling him to stay true to his word. Another season after this, of regular Championship football, and he will be ready to move to an aspiring Prem club
  15. Joey Barton has removed himself from being relevant now He'll never get another gig in football, which really was the only thing that separated him from his dipshit family
  16. I don't quite know whether Football Manager is a good indication of coaching abilities, but Bobby Mimms was always very highly rated on there They get their player ratings right (mostly...) so maybe they get their coaches too
  17. Blimey, that's a harsh assessment Gallagher is not a waster. He usually runs himself into the ground. I remember our second goal vs Leicester were he closed down and tackled their full back. Sammie went on to score in front of us jubilant travelling fans. It was a fantastic piece of work rate from Gallagher Mowbray used to tell him to get between the posts, then played him on the bloody right wing. Let's not get that twisted You are wishing away our best striker at the club. Okay, he is not a league winner, but he's an improvement on what remains
  18. I actually thought Coyle got more of a tune out of Gallagher than anybody else has He was a pretty basic manager in terms of tactics. Throw it down the wing, get the ball in and attack it. It still remains Gallagher's best goal return over a season Since then he has been asked to play a different style. Whether it's out wide, or even as a more hold it up type player. Gally always looks most dangerous when he's bundling through players. That said, he seems to have lost that ability to attack the ball, as for a tall man he doesn't score a lot from crosses into the box I hope we keep him. I have been critical of Gally in the past but he's our best striker now by a long shot. Selling him is a sign of retreat. We may as well give up this season and hope there's 3 teams worse than us
  19. Could other operating expenses include the amounts we pay for Brockhall? It tends to include items like maintenance, rent, utilities etc. We'd be hard pressed to spend ~£6m more than PNE on items like that though. A strange anomaly there. Without looking at the accounts I think directors' salaries are listed separately, and so it can't be that. Just seen GWhite's post above. Makes sense.
  20. Most people would buy Blackburn Rovers if they were genuinely interested in a football club It has the lot for a prospective buyer If Venkys were to ever sell the Club, they'd have to write off the £200m because in not doing that it would make their asking price too high for its market value. Nobody would bite. So the £200m would go regardless Brockhall would also come with the deal. But it would have always been costed into the price of the club anyway, so I'm not sure where you are going with that Where has your £100m figure come from??????
  21. A bizarre game really. Very poor quality from both sides I don’t really have much to say except I am at a loss why we took our left back off to play Anor there. For the last period of the 2nd half we played without a left back. Against a better side they’d have punished us Putting JRC at right back, Brittain further up and Anor at left back is a “sack me” decision. Brainless. It completely ruined any chance we had of winning Frustrating a day as any. JDT is running out of options
  22. This Juke fella has never really hit the heights. I don’t think he’s the answer The only thing he’d give us is a bit of an aerial threat, but considering we are averse to putting a cross in what’s the point? The one thing he might do is show the young strikers it’s possible to be as tough tackling and mean as the centre halves they face. He is good at that at least
  23. I don't think administration will happen under Venkys. They are still a profitable company and have shown willing to pay what is required - but not a penny more - to keep the wolves at the door Unfortunately, we will continue to be at the whim of their shareholders. You have to imagine that, given there are loans taken out against the parent company, some of the shareholders are questioning the reason they continue to hold on to Rovers. It isn't giving them any good publicity and they clearly have no long term plan to improve the club. So if I was sat on the board my question would be: what is the play here? I wish beyond everything they would act in a decent way and appoint people to run the club who know what they are doing. It is the bare minimum any owner should do. These types of owners are why the white paper on football ownership does not go far enough. In this country we absolutely have to have fan representation at board level. Rovers could be held as a case study imo. Distant owners, disinterested in progress and who jump from controversy to controversy. It is compounded by a lack of local management
  24. I think the fact that even on here there are still some posters who say Venkys are good for the club tells a story in itself
