  1. You played 4 a side on a goat? Who said you'd never win anything with kids eh?
  2. There was never any doubt about Shearer's quality but I still maintain we could and should have kept hold of Speedie. Imagine him and Newell rekindling their partnership after Shearer's injury in that 1992/93 season. We would have won the league and Fergie would have been sacked. A real sliding doors moment that one.
  3. Shearer also got a full-ground standing ovation when he scored for Newcastle about 20 years ago to make it 2-1 in a game that finished (I think) 5-2 to Rovers as it was his 300th career goal.
  4. Marie Osmond - Paper Roses
  5. The standing ovation he got from all 4 sides of Ewood when WHU played us in the 95/96 season was amazing, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like that before or since.
  6. I agree that we could do with 2 or 3 quality additions but to suggest we may as well give up because we can't compete seems beyond realistic and a little bit defeatist tbh. I hope none of the staff or players thinks that anyway.
  7. Bit early to be throwing the towel in don't you think?
  8. John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band - Give Peace a Chance
  9. RIP Lamont Dozier, one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century, who has died at the age of 81. The Holland/Dozier/Holland team at Motown was responsible for countless classics, and was right up there with Goffin/King, Lieber and Stoller, Bacharach and David etc
  10. The Beatles - Your Mother Should Know
  11. We will find a way 🤍💙
  12. RIP Olivia Newton John - every teenage lad’s crush when I was growing up 🥲 https://www.bbc.co.uk/
  13. Wings - Listen To What the Man Said
  14. I think we need Sir Alex Ferguson to sort out these bad hair jokes 😄
  15. That's head and shoulders the best one yet.
  16. Worth watching the closing ceremony of the commonwealth games later to see Dexys play live
  17. This statue idea is certainly on the radar of the Rovers Trust. Didn't the great man even die of a heart attack just after managing us to a 3-2 win over Burnley? That's almost as good as getting shot dead at the age of 99 by a jealous husband!
  18. The Jam - A Solid Bond in Your Heart
  19. Yeah they'd be off on a stretcher if they got grit in their eyes in this day and age.
  20. That's a surprise tbf - it feels like we've fallen at the first hurdle a few times in recent years but the seasons are blending into one at my age........
