  1. Micky is a really lovely bloke. Hard as fucking nails and deadly with free kicks on the edge of the box. Howard Kendall loved him. Paul another great lad. Sadly passed away at a young age. Was fond of a Leavers pie or two (as well as a few pints). Those last two sentences may be connected ...
  2. 100% mate. Its only football rivalry.
  3. I went to a gig in a church in Liverpool (near the Aigburth cricket ground that Lancs use). The capacity was only 300 and the acoustics were amazing. It was an album launch for Steve Pilgrim’s Beautiful Blue. You may recognise the bloke on keyboard. 😉
  4. The Carpenters - Close To You
  5. That was pretty much the joke mate yeah 😉
  6. My brother reckons he’s just seen Pirlo looking at houses in Wilpshire.
  7. Blur - End Of a Century
  8. Once he learns the drill he'll be filling in 2 or 3 different positions where he will inject some pace in and around our own goalmouth. He needs to make it impossible for JDT to extract him from the starting eleven.
  9. No, the silly fucker misheard, we actually said "older winger" and it's Morten Gamst Pedersen.
  10. Maybe not, but he's the Wilpshire Pirlo 🙂 Incidentally I'm almost certain I saw a very young Xavi play at Ewood for Barca in a friendly at the beginning of his career and he definitely wasn't as composed on the ball as Wharton is at the same age.
  11. Wonder what the ‘loan to buy’ option means? 😐😵
  12. Yep. That would appear to be tonight’s team.
  13. Badly Drawn Boy - Born in the UK
  14. Left back. He will probably have links to Broughton given his previous clubs include Norwich and Luton.
  15. So you were basically attention seeking. What a strange world we live in when people get their kicks from doing things like this.
  16. The Stranglers - Walk On By
  17. I was there Gav, we got ambushed on the way back to the car but I think we did Blackburn proud with our retaliatory efforts 😉
  18. Interesting that both the managers who suffered 9-0 defeats at the weekend have been pretty much sacked on the spot. What should have happened when we lost 0-7 to Fulham really.
  19. Curry was better than McKinnon Gav. Then again, so was I! Sean was a bit of a lad off the pitch though, to say the least. His two big moments for Rovers were scoring at Maine Road in a 2-1 win, and having what would have been the winning goal wrongly disallowed for offside at White Hart Lane against a star studded Spurs team in the league cup.
  20. Although we have at least managed to post a competitive total, thanks to Vilas, Lavelle and Lamb.
  21. Pete played in our Orphanage Cup team (Blackburn Council). I have vague memories of Phil Greenhalgh (Great Harwood legend) playing in the same team. Some forward line at that level. Pete married a Darwen lass from my class at school and he still looks well.
  22. Starsailor - Four From the Floor
