  1. Curry was better than McKinnon Gav. Then again, so was I! Sean was a bit of a lad off the pitch though, to say the least. His two big moments for Rovers were scoring at Maine Road in a 2-1 win, and having what would have been the winning goal wrongly disallowed for offside at White Hart Lane against a star studded Spurs team in the league cup.
  2. Although we have at least managed to post a competitive total, thanks to Vilas, Lavelle and Lamb.
  3. Pete played in our Orphanage Cup team (Blackburn Council). I have vague memories of Phil Greenhalgh (Great Harwood legend) playing in the same team. Some forward line at that level. Pete married a Darwen lass from my class at school and he still looks well.
  4. Starsailor - Four From the Floor
  5. Sadly Lancs seem to be doing what they have done all season, and not turned up when it really mattered at the business end of competitions.
  6. I don’t think he played for the first team (though I could be wrong). What I do know for sure is that Rovers were only taking one apprentice on that season and it was between him and my little brother and Franz got the nod. Pretty sure we sold him to Cloughie for what was big money without him playing a first team game.
  7. Duncan Shearer came with a massive reputation and scored with just about his first touch of the ball on his debut at Barnsley. We went on to lose that game and he very quickly nosedived at Ewood then went on to play for Aberdeen. His name was still being chanted for a few years afterwards for some reason 😉
  8. Elton John - Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word
  9. I think the Van Hecke saga might have had more to do with it Tony.
  10. Elvis Costello and the Attractions - I Don't Want To Go To Chelsea
  11. The Style Council - The Cost of Loving
  12. The Moody Blues - Just a Singer (In a Rock and Roll Band)
  13. The Style Council - Long Hot Summer
  14. The Byrds - Turn, Turn, Turn (To Everything There Is A Season)
  15. KC and the Sunshine Band - Give It Up
  16. Little Richard - Good Golly Miss Molly
  17. Paul Weller - Glad Times
  18. Scritti Politti - Oh Patti (Don't Feel Sorry For Loverboy)
  19. Tina Turner - Steamy Windows
  20. Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
  21. I'm just glad I didn't have cameras filming my every move when I played football.
  22. Morton, A Wharton, Dolan, Szmodics and Dack to run riot, Bradford to end up with 9 men and a resounding 4-1 victory for the mighty Rovers as Sparky's boys overdo the physical stuff. On the assumption that Markanday is injured and Phillips needs a rest, I would go with this line up: Pears JRC Pratt Pickering Batty Morton Wharton Szmodics Dack Dolan Vale Subs: Kaminsky, Ayala, Edun, Brittain, Buckley, Diaz, Gallagher
  23. There were quite a few Rovers shirts in evidence at Blackpool today. Good to see.
  24. The Jam - Music For The Last Couple
