  1. He spoke with a forked tongue every time he opened his slimy mouth.
  2. Edwyn Collins - Running Away With Myself
  3. Spot on den. Waggott's answers are evasive to say the least.
  4. I had only just started going to games regularly at that point and my dad made this point very strongly to me. I still found it exhilarating to be honest, and have fond memories of Furphy's tenure.
  5. Yeah we beat them at Ewood in the premier league 4-1 or 4-2 under the crook and I may be wrong but I think the Yak might have scored all four? We did also play them in the FA Cup fairly recently and won as well.
  6. Even K**n's team beat them if I remember correctly?
  7. The Questions - Tear Soup
  8. Paul Weller - Fly On The Wall (the moment I knew he was back - I realised that if he could release a B side as good as this what else must he have in his locker?)
  9. I would tend to agree with this, and I would also like to see Arma play alongside a big forward as I think he would really thrive in that scenario.
  10. I'm having a John Martyn day today. I once heard a John Martyn song being played live from a pub called Lauders Bar on Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow many years ago as I was making my way home from work. It was a very good version of it so I decided to pop in and listen while enjoying a pint. I was gobsmacked to discover it was THE John Martyn! He only had one leg and was massively overweight but still had the voice of an angel. Fast forward a few years and they held a tribute concert literally yards from that bar in the Royal Concert Hall, organised by Danny Thompson (his great friend) and headlined by Paul Weller and Eddi Reader. Marvellous stuff!
  11. The Three Degrees - When Will I See You Again?
  12. PP Arnold - First Cut Is The Deepest
  13. I saw that post and to be honest it looked a little tongue in cheek to me, rather than an actual 'theory'. As for the Van Nistelrooy comparison, I wouldn't know where to even begin with that one. I'm pretty sure he would have been very warmly received by the Rovers faithful in much the same way as Shearer, Bellamy, McCarthy, Yakubu and Santa Cruz were.
  14. Paul Weller - That Dangerous Age
  15. The Style Council - Long Hot Summer (incredible that this was the same bloke that wrote Going Underground just 3 years earlier)
  16. Its bizarre isn't it? Let's call it Lockdown Lunacy.
  17. Just a reminder to folk not to get caught out by the kick-off time, which is 6pm UK time. Unchanged team for me.
  18. I was pretty astonished to see that an ex colleague of mine and massive Rovers fan, who was part of the group with whom I travelled all over the place following the club in the 1980s - was one of the worst culprits in terms of blindly defending Mowbray and not allowing anyone to criticise him or the club. I'm just hoping that in his case it isn't dementia setting in, as he'll be into his 70s by now, because he was never slow to criticise players and managers back in the day, very vocally. Odd behaviour.
  19. Yeah I started joining in under the "Its the Venkys we need to replace etc" comment. I didn't last long though, as I really can't be arsed discussing things with absolute planks like that, they wind me up too much.
  20. Common As Muck. Great programme.
  21. A house brick short of a hodful.
  22. Paul Weller - Shadow of the Sun
  23. Bill Withers - I Can't Write Left Handed (bring tears to a glass eye this song!)
  24. The Small Faces - Eddie's Dreaming
