Tony is going to do the right thing and hand his notice in tonight.

None of the people involved in that goal should be on the park (for different reasons) -

Klich should have been off there with a second yellow for kicking the ball away. Soft yes but yet another example of poor reffing. -
Pretty sure it was satirical mate

Yeah I don’t think anyone was seriously suggesting they had any info - we were just speculating initially really. Despite my reservations about Tony as a manager I do actually think he could walk away/retire, however long he has left on his contract. He won’t be short of a bob or two.

They’re definitely not good enough now, they must both be in their 40s?

No it wasn’t personal Stuart. You played that card on the other thread as well. I deliberately didn’t name you again here for that very reason actually. I have fundamentally disagreed with you on a couple of issues that’s all. One was your insistence that LIverpool only won the league because of VAR and the other was your very clear remark about Lenihan’s decision to miss the Barnsley game ending our season. They are both very extreme to say the least but you are of course entitled to hold them. Just as I am entitled to strongly disagree if that’s how I feel. I have nothing against you personally at all, as I said before I don’t think I even know you in the ‘real’ world and if I did I would still buy you a pint despite our differences of opinion. It’s not that important really but it is a messageboard where different views are exchanged and as far as I can see that is all we’ve done.

I often heard Johnny Price being mentioned in porn films but never John O'Mara

I think Mowbray made the same mistake with Brereton Tony! Can't wait to hear the porn film story.....

That's exactly how I saw it too Tony. I think he will retire at the end of the season.

They did. Which is what got some of us worked up. I'm not going to point fingers but at least one poster was very specific in saying that the lad's decision ended our season. And that is ludicrous. Anyway its been done to death now.

I must say I do agree with you on this particular point Mercer and made the very same point when I saw Mowbray’s lack of reaction to the Brereton sending off the other night. He sat impassively chewing his gum while his opposite number effectively got the lad sent off. Could you imagine Souness or Hughes allowing that to happen?

Yeah ok Stuart.

As a general point footballers should avoid becoming fathers during the football season where at all possible. Of course, it isn't quite as simple as that, there are innumerable factors at play. If the last four months have taught us anything it is surely that football is not the be-all and end-all.
-
Put it this way mate - I see a huge difference between Lenihan's situation and the England cricket captain missing a test match IN JULY to be at his child's birth, which would tie in with your hypothetical Dack analogy. Did Joe Root not realise he might be needed in July? So no, I wouldn't necessarily be quite so understanding if a player missed a game that was played on its original date, i.e. during what is the normal football season (including play-off finals)
-
Literally nobody actually said that though, it was me that said/speculated that he might have been more tempted to play but that was the limit of it. I agree with you, they are the same or at least the principle is. As for the 'info about their sex life', I don't think anybody has claimed that either, but the baby was due outside of the football season, that is an undeniable fact....until covid stepped in.
