  1. Despite the dropped catches another enthralling day’s cricket so far and still most of a session to go yet
  2. Cheer up Jim FFS 😂😂😉
  3. Simon Fowler and Oscar Harrison - Argyle Street
  4. The Real Thing - Can You Feel The Force?
  5. This is some spell from Wood - lightning quick. Khawaja had no answer to it. 42/2
  6. Not sure Gary is aware of the rules looking at the last couple of posts. Just to reiterate a different word is supposed to be carried forward each time.
  7. Harry Chapin - Cats’ In The Cradle
  8. The Style Council - You’re The Best Thing
  9. The Electric Light Orchestra - Shine a Little Love
  10. Aside from the fact they should have been bowling Yorkers to Lyon anyway to get him out I actually don’t think it was in the spirit of the game to send down the short pitched stuff, but I will concede that I might be in the minority on that one.
  11. The Beatles - Got To Get You Into My Life
  12. Iron Maiden - The Number Of the Beast
  13. You don't actually believe this nonsense do you? There are literally dozens of examples of things that are within the laws of the game that aren't within the spirit of cricket. Mankadding someone without giving them prior warning about leaving their ground being the most obvious.
  14. The Jam - But I’m Different Now
  15. The Small Faces - Song Of a Baker
  16. They missed off “failure to have a full Windsor knot in one’s tie”.
  17. Ah that's very sad. A world class cricketer, inspirational leader, hard as fucking nails and above all a really really nice man. Fondly remembered at ELCC.
  18. The Spinners - Its a Shame
  19. I think we can all agree that they were all brilliantly taken, whether legit or not 🙂
  20. It was only under control because he basically slid it along the ground! The basic premise for a catch is that the ball doesn't touch the ground. The modern thing about it still being a valid catch even if the ball hits the floor as long as there are fingers under the ball has muddied the waters a bit. But even in this case there was nowt under that ball other than grass. And that second bit in bold - really? The Aussies had already got away with two very debatable catches in their previous two tests (Green and Smith), are you implying or suggesting that England are being treated more favourably? I'd love to see some evidence for that. PS - I quoted Bumble predominantly because of his umpiring background (as stated in my post)
  21. You are wrong on both counts here. The de Grandhomme dismissal was as a direct result of him coming too far down the wicket to try and influence the umpire in relation to the LBW appeal he was facing, or if I'm being kind it was his forward momentum. Either way the ball very obviously was not dead in that example. Pope genuinely ran him out, albeit it was an unusual dismissal. As for the Starc 'catch' - Bumble (not only a top player and coach in his time but also a superb umpire) summed it up perfectly for me yesterday when asked about it at Old Trafford . He said words to the effect of "Look, I don't know why this is even being debated. The ball was grounded, not a catch, end of story".
