  1. Great player and person for the club. Shame the injuries took 3 of his top years. Wish him nothing but luck in the future, and hope his wages can be used to bring in a goal scorer or two.
  2. Not that it makes it any better, but was it ever confirmed we paid £7 million for him? I thought I read that was the price after sell ons, which clearly there will be none. Similar to the Armstrong deal where the fee paid was small but the sell on was quite large.
  3. Wish the lad luck. Don’t want to imagine where we’d have been without his goals the last 3 years. Complete bottle job how the club has handled his contract. During his amazing 20 goal by new years run, the numbers indicated it was unsustainable. Had a rough patch in the second half the last two seasons. honestly don’t think he fits the style JDT wants to play. Think we will see a proper number nine and hopefully wingers with more ability to create chances. but it will probably be Hedges, Dolan and Gally.
  4. I think all three have a lot of room to improve. Travis isn’t anywhere near good enough on the ball. Wharton and Buckley lack defensively and none of them are especially good in the air. I’d like to see us operate with a midfield 3 more next year. Garrett pushing Travis for the defensive role. Buckley and Wharton in front. No better way to gain experience than playing. of course we will need cover as 4 for 3 isn’t going to make it all season. Bring in an experienced squad member to help the lads and provide depth. But with our financial limitations I’d rather see us spend whatever meager funds available on strikers, wingers and left back competition
  5. The great thing about kids playing well is they dont know they're not supposed to be playing well. The youth in the side is the most promising aspect of the squad.
  6. Maybe we can sell him Gally for £7 million?
  7. I’d rather have gotten the penalty against Burnley. That point and not watching those twats not lift the trophy would have added 20 years to my life. Not to mention we we the better side and deserved at least a point
  8. He’s very poor on the ball. Like Gally he works hard and is good for running into a wall but not a starting center mid caliber player and certainly not captain material.
  9. Feeling a bit of pride after that. Excellent way to end the season but really should have been in the bag weeks ago. Poor run since the World Cup, but can’t help be feel undone in part to bad luck. Can easily point to 3 or 4 matches where a point has been stolen from us. We return nearly the entire squad who played meaningful minutes. Need at least 4 in. 2 center forwards, a left winger and a left back. If GN can get the necessary paperwork over the line in the summer we should be top 6 next year.
  10. Or the stonewall penalty at Burnley
  11. Next season Garret should be pushing him for his place in the XI
  12. Can’t help but think of the handball at Coventry, hedges shot and own goal against Preston and the penalty not called against Burnley. Any one of those go another way and we’re in the top 6…really harsh
  13. Can’t score 4 in 3 months and we think we could do it in one evening?
  14. That’s a yellow you have to take.
  15. Finish in the same place as last season after watching most of the starting 11 walk for free or return on loan. The cupboard was quite bare last summer. We finish this year with only BBD walking and Morton going back to his parent club. Most of the first team return, if we are able to bring in a center striker or two and competition at left back, we are in a great position heading into next year.
  16. Back in our hand. 2 wins and we’re in.
  17. All this Newcastle talk is rubbish. Lads under contract until 2027. They’re not going to offer what he’s worth, or allow him to develop with match experience. just like all the Celtic and Notts links to Dolan. Never going to happen. Not only will they never offer what their worth it’s not worth it to us.
  18. He was a surprise, for us and opponents. In form and scored on the break. From the run of play he has one move, cut in from the left and shoot…hasn’t been able/allowed to do that in months. Once opponents figured that out his goals dried up.
  19. Haven’t seen that chap since Christmas
  20. Since the summer of 2019 we’ve needed a striker
