  1. I think our goal scoring woes show up 0-0 and the need for a proven striker is obvious
  2. Could explain the lack of fitness though!
  3. Rovershop needs to make the R Ennis kit available
  4. Wingers on loan from the premier league are abundant. Not worried about that, but a center forward to push Leonard would help
  5. Average age of the side today was under 24. While incredibly promising for the future and in general should lead to ambition and growth, a few seasoned plays will help in times of adversity
  6. Fair assessment m. Thought most of the disorganization on defense was due to poorly timed turn overs in the middle of the park. Markanday, Dolan, Trondtad, and surprisingly Wharton all guilt many occasions.
  7. Had Leonard put away the first miss it could have been goal of the season in match day 1
  8. Was definitely weary the second half. Buckley can provide cover and hopefully keep him fresh.
  9. Travis was very good. Solid in the tackle as always and confident in possession.
  10. Excellent 3 points. Could have been 4 or 5 today. A bit sloppy throughout but really saw that out quite comfortably
  11. Leonard has been good. Missed those 2 chance but has been the best #9 we’ve had since Armstrong
  12. Really hope that miss doesn’t come back to haunt
  13. Real poor give away by Markanday
  14. Anyone think Gally would have also taken that chance that fell to Leonard?
  15. Markanday deserved the goal from a good press and tackle.
  16. Really would like to see Markanday start to stake his claim today.
  17. Wonder if Friedel would still be our best option between the sticks
  18. Ash is currently a league 1 level player. He only got into the first team last year because 1) we had a massive injury crisis at center back (even played Pickering there) and 2) we needed to show faith in him so he’d agree the 3year deal. I don’t think JDT will be here in 3 years unless we get promoted. He talks a lot about the process and project, but in reality he is ambitious and wants the same from the club. Ash was always going to be gone when he’d be ready to contribute. Getting him to sign last year is a £3 million windfall. I have to imagine JDT would prefer the funds now vs potential of a player that would probably leave in 2 years anyway.
  19. Financial fair play is more about preventing Newcastle becoming man city or another Jack Walker than it is about “fair play”. The championship highlights that above all else. Really hope we can buck the odds, like Luton, and get up, but the reality is life in the premier league, under current FFP, only dooms us to eventual regulation. FFP only ensures no one can continually compete with the top 6. Just ask Leicester
  20. Heard an interesting statistic today. 90% of teams promoted from the championship have bee. In receipt of parachute payments or would have breached the P&S limits had they not gotten promoted. sad stare really what the tv deal mongering for the premier league has meant for the championship
