  1. JRC is still living off the purple patch he has under JDT when he kept his place after Brittain getting injured. He was crap for lots of last season
  2. Gueye is a nightmare to play against, doesn’t give you a moments peace and because he’s not technically brilliant it means he’s so unpredictable
  3. Wish him well in the Prem and deserves a crack at it. He’s done a fantastic job the last 12 months and performed to a level way above what we and he (I’d wager) could reasonably have expected. That said he’s a handsomely paid employee who has been with us for 2 seasons, not so sure about all the Rovers legend talk on social media. A fleeting bright light in a very dim period. Fee wise, doesn’t matter what we got as it’s not being reinvested. I think 10 is a couple of million less than the ceiling but he is a 28 year old with 12 consistently good months in the championship and an average league 1 career prior to that.
  4. I’ll never forgive Khadra for that penalty against Sheff Utd
  5. Phillips gone to Ipswich, that’s going to be a big loan fee
  6. Travis looked to play forward much more on Friday than I have seen him previously. Dropped into the pocket a few times to receive ahead of the ball. He’s always dropped behind the ball or behind the first line of press. Thought he played on the turn much better and threaded a few decent passes between the lines. He’s never going to be a Wharton but he was far more progressive than we’ve previously seen IMO
  7. Very poor this, commercial sense and common courtesy shouldn’t be this far apart
  8. The bhoys were fantastic weren’t they, looks like Brendan is trying to right some of his wrongs from last year. Possession with purpose yesterday
  9. To give Sam G his dues, there has been times mainly off the bench when he’s come on and been a handful. Albeit not many but I do remember him looking half decent on occasion off the bench
  10. Think he’s there as GK coach rather than playing, he has a pretty successful private business coaching young GK’s.
  11. Yep, he was brilliant at winding people up but similar to Savage in my opinion was soft as shite. Both ran from a 50/50 and most of their tackles were them trying to get out the way and or clipping people late.
  12. El Hadji-Diouf was soft as shite, gave it the big un but never put in a tackle unless it was a late half hearted one. Plastic hard man
  13. Nixon is a snake oil salesman, why is he even a topic of discussion on here these days. He’s less reliable than that met office
  14. People probably said the same about Sammie until 18 months ago.
  15. Gallagher will no doubt have a muscle injury, as the case toward the end of every pre-season.
  16. Delap for 20 million is potentially very shrewd business. He’s 21, scored 1 in 3 last year and is capped at various levels for England.
  17. I have got my timescales incorrect, I’d thought he was injured March time. My original point still stands. He’s been injured April to June, now July onwards. Missing pre-season and valuable time working with the first team. Such a shame for him as he’s got so much promise. Hopefully having an extended period injured hasn’t had too much impact in terms of the momentum he was building in his career
  18. Gilsenan looks increasingly likely to miss what could be a breakout year due to injury. Spent the best part of 6 months out injured since Christmas and looking like that will be closer to 9 now.
  19. Duru is definitely different to anything we have in that position, very direct runner in the Frimpong mould. Very hard to say where he is at in terms of being championship level after playing against Accrington and a Morecambe side that signed 17 players in a week. It was interesting tactically how high and wide he was instructed to be at times, whilst at the same time Biniek clearly had instructions to pin the touchline high on the opposite side. Eustace looking to make the pitch as big as possible and play out then through the centre. Not quite what I expected from Eustace, in that we set up more aggressively than we've seen
  20. He gave the ball away in dangerous positions at least 4 times. Flat, telegraphed passes into a central area. Jackson has given him 7, I’d have given 5 at best. Desperately needs to go out and play men’s football. Assuming Gent has risen above him in the pecking order
  21. He was excellent. Tyjon was good, busy. Biniek was also lively and direct when he came on. Looks quick. O’Riordan comfortable bringing the ball out, played very high at times. Neither Batty or Gamble are good enough, in fact they’re miles off it.
  22. Tronstad is the most level headed and reliable, not sure he'd be well received as captain though as people tend to like blood and thunder types to be captain.
  23. We could arguably play 1st half with the strongest team and 2nd half '2nd string' in both games, 90 minutes over 2 days certainly shouldn't be beyond them as they look to 'peak' with starting in 2 weeks time! I suspect it will be the reserves at Morecambe tonight.
  24. Must be a market Venky's are looking to push their products in............
  25. Do kids season tickets generate loyalty points?
