  1. Regarding JRC. Reasons for being left out and confidence. It was said a couple of years ago that his preferred position is in CM. His appearances so far this season have been as a right sided midfielder who steps in to play centrally and as a classic CM in a 2 against Blackpool. He’s been poor on the whole and I don’t think could have many qualms over being dropped. With the horror show against Blackpool he knew he’d be dropped against them lot. A solid team performance down the road keeps him out of the team. It’s in him to work his way back in. I don’t think he’s carrying a knock as he’s been available for selection in all games, had a full pre-season and been no reports of any injury problems. There may be other reasons we’re not aware of as to why he’s off it but on face value it appears to be form rather than physical that’s causing the issue.
  2. JDT’s tactical inflexibility does make me question whether he is a top coach long term. I totally agree that the football we played under him is some of the best I’ve witnessed, that said his inability to react in game to situations or enact any sort of formation reshuffle seemed beyond him at times.
  3. JDT's skill in working the media in comparison to his players is an interesting topic IMO. I have said many times that I loved the way JDT had us playing, but was frustrated by his lack of tactical flexibility. I'm still not sure whether that was pigheadedness or lack of knowledge. However, I often wonder whether his charm and way of captivating the audience within the media, and fan base to some extent got him an easier ride than others have had. It's also interesting how it would appear given the noises post him leaving (taking into account some were just being soft) and the fall out he's had with Larsson at Sweden that his charm with the media doesn't always extend to being able to motivate his players.
  4. Aye, I couldn’t get a ticket today either so had to settle for the Catholic club in Blackpool. We said that it was like watching a kid fight his dad, after the first goal it looked like we could score at will. If anything I’m a bit disappointed we didn’t really pile on the agony like in the 5-1. Kris Boyd is obviously a massive roaster but he spoke more sense post game than I’ve ever heard him. think I’m there for the Dons game
  5. People watch football in different ways and for different reasons. Should be a place for both.
  6. Gomes is an excellent player and given his form in France deserves to be in the squad. If injury concerns are keeping Wharton out fair enough, if not I’m disappointed he’s not in ahead of Gallagher or Gibbs-White. Gallagher offers very little other than running.
  7. Playing through the lines isn’t just passing or playing forward it’s about forward passes that go through a line of formation exploiting the pockets of space behind and beyond each line of defence. The ability to receive between the lines enables players to turn and play forward with speed. It requires excellent vision and to often see what could be there rather than what is there.
  8. Ha ha ha ha ha ha I’d respectfully disagree
  9. I think we might be overplaying the prestige/atmosphere of our derby here a bit, Hungary have a massive ultras scene and if he’s played at Ferencváros, Etc he’ll have played in some pretty bloody hostile environments
  10. Agreed, sure I read he only missed something like 2 games last year
  11. Cantrell won't get hijacked, nobody wanted him when he left Norwich and he's not had any takers in the 4 months since he lobbed his toys out the pram at Rangers
  12. Living off breaking into a crap Norwich side as young lad in the Prem. Consistently garbage since
  13. I really hope we don’t sign Cantwell, he will make Danny Murphy look like a good signing. He’s not had a pre-season and will be miles off it to boot. I’m honestly surprised he’s found his way out of Callum McCregors pocket to even get down here to be honest
  14. I got the last adult home (non xxxxxl) shirt in the shop last night, it’s great we’ve sold out in home and third but s bit of forward planning for what they must have known would be very popular kits wouldn’t be too difficult
  15. JRC can’t play on the turn, his awareness and decision making is horrendous
  16. I’ve said it on here a few times but barring JRC’s adrenaline fuelled run at right back he’s had more average games than good. He was poor for large parts of last season and looks so far off it this year. He looks like the player who was getting released, not the one who got an extended contract. He was lucky to get away with 2 very similar errors tonight before the 3rd which they scored from.
  17. Bit worrying we seem to be linked with a load of players Park signed at Rangers. All of whom have failed to rip up any trees.
  18. Please god no to Cantwell, he’s spent his time up the road getting rinsed by Sutton and done buggar all else. Christ, Ryan Kent was better in old firm games and that’s saying something. Enormous waste of a wage and he’s a gigantic prick to boot, he’s lived off the reputation he built as a young player at Norwich. The reality is that his star has faded very quickly to the point where he’s been non existent in Rangers crunch games and doesn’t exactly have clubs beating down the door to sign him and his ego. Steer well clear
  19. I think the time has come where we need to move Bucko on for the good of all parties. On his day I think he’s a lovely footballer, however those days now seem limited to cameos against lower league opposition in cups or friendlies. At 24 and with 140 apps he’s passed the age of being given the benefit of the doubt in certain areas, he’s making the same mistakes he made as a 19 year old and his decision making is arguably slower/worse. Successive managers have deemed him not up to the task, coupled with his indifferent spell at Sheff Wed its’s all pointing to him not being the level required of a championship player sadly.
  20. If Dolan’s brain/decision making was as quick as his feet he wouldn’t be at Rovers.
  21. They played Ross, who’d struggle in League 2
  22. I can’t wait for deadline day for us to sign an exciting defensive prospect like Billy Koumetio, real proof of the quality we bring in on deadline day
  23. It’d be Dolan to drop out for me, that said I think Yuki is better coming off the bench for now
  24. Same happened with Lambert, we had started to see green shoots with a few fantastic performances (alongside some dross admittedly) but the rug was pulled, promises not honoured and off Lambert went. Quite a lot of revisionism around Lamberts time here painting him as a dud when in reality he was treated in much the same way as JDT, a man too ambitious, principled and likeable for the V's, etc to contend with.
