  1. I do feel it's a strange position Roberts finds himself in as few players of his ability will get the chance to play in the Champions League regularly, I'm not convinced that he has what it takes to make it in the prem, if he does it will be at a lower end of the table. He struggled to start regularly at Celtic last season and was kept out by wee James Forrest for the vast majority of the season. Good luck to him for challenging himself
  2. I'd be very very surprised if Paddy Roberts was the player we were allegedly looking at, he left Celtic to take a crack at the prem. It would seem very odd to give up Champions League football, 50k a week and numerous trophies to play in the Championship.
  3. Ultimately the sponsor will have dictated the colour and size of the logo, they're paying for advertising space and have obviously dictated the terms.
  4. Some religions do strictly prohibit gambling/alcohol so I wonder if that comes into play when some of the more global clubs/brands are agreeing sponsorship deals
  5. Yep, you can't put betting or alcohol companies on kids kits. Works out quite well, my lad ends up with his Rovers and Celtic shirts free of horrible sponsor logos.
  6. After much deliberation, I bought my lad the new strip although I got twitchy thinking I wouldn't have it in time for holiday and he got a new Barcelona kit as well!! The colour has grown on me and the kit looks good without the sponsor
  7. I can't seem to find how to personalize the shirt on the Roverstore, my little lad wants his name on his and can't seem to find the option.
  8. Magners sponsor Celtic and Eden Mill sponsor the Hibees
  9. To be honest if it isn't available to get delivered before Friday I will be going and giving Sports Direct 40 quid for a PSG or Barcelona kit for him, I'm sure many parents will be the same. Kids want a summer kit for holidays and most would be more than happy with a foreign one. Schools break up this week, Rovers really need to get it out asap.
  10. I'm hoping they announce it today so I can pre-order one for my little lad before we go away this weekend. I'm not holding my breath.
  11. You've already changed it. It's Arte et Labore
  12. I think that's our home kit but reversing the red and blue on the collar and halves.
  13. I'm not saying they should, it should be said though that Gerrard has been working with Liverpool academy for quite some time and is going to manage Rangers so he is starting at a low level, league 1 equivalent.......... Neville got jobs because of his relationship with Peter Lim and Lampard got the Derby job based on his punditry, I think all pro's should have to start off working with academies/serve an appreticeship.
  14. Campbell has been offered several roles within academies and junior set ups but has refused them as he believes he should start at managerial level because of the level he played at, he's not been given jobs because he's an arrogant sod. It was interesting that he bemoaned Craig Bellamy on 5 live for being given an interview for the Oxford job when he was turned down, he argued it was because he was black. The interviewer challenged him on it and pointed out Bellamy had spent a number of years working FOC with Cardiff's U12's, U14's before taking a paid role on the academy, working up to reserve manager and then first team coach, whilst also undertaking his various FIFA quals, Campbell fell apart.
  15. They agreed to have an option, whereas at the moment they have to produce a full programme with a certain number of pages to allow for sponsor requirements and a minimum print run. A number of league 2 clubs (probably some league 1 clubs) lose money hand over fist on programmes due to lack of scale and the print cost per programme, if they can find innovative ways to save some money and stay afloat surely having that option is a good thing? Rovers will make money on programmes, as long as they continue to do so they will continue to print them.
  16. This is being erroneously reported in a lot of places, the only thing that has been removed is the compulsory nature of producing match day programmes, the indication from the vast majority of EFL clubs is that they would continue to produce programmes for league games with the potential to do reduced programmes for league cup and checkatrade or a festive programme over Christmas.
  17. I was thinking more along the lines of the 94/95 third kit and the Prince's Trust, we've had a few yellow and royal blue away shirts over the years, the Uhlsport CIS kit, the Spall pinstripe number, even the asics yellow with blue mashed up crests down the side
  18. I think we could be due a yellow and black away kit, not had one for a few years and if we're going with a retro theme, yellow fits.
  19. One of the great things about being sposored by gambling companies is that clubs often do sponsor-less shirts, nice to have the option.
  20. I was at an Umbro event at Ewood last week and I'm sure the 18th June was the date I was told when I asked.
  21. Kits come out mid June.
