Bloody hell, that's a looooooong time.

I was a bit disappointed when we hired the Swede, this had got me despondent. Nothing has changed at the FA. What has McClaren done? One could say the same of big Sam but McClaren is a limp fish, just like the Swede emotionless, passionless. How long before the roar of the English Lion is just a meow. Now I feel really sorry for Rooney, if he does not make this World Cup he may go his whole career never playing for England in another Major tournament, not with this clown at the helm. Buggar. I've hated this bunch since they refused to appoint perhaps the best manager in the World at the time, the late great Brian Clough, old school tie and all that. Fire the lot of 'em and re-build from scratch with young, ambitious and savvy businessmen who love the game of Football. Could someone tell me what happened to Martin O'Neill (my pick for the job). Was he eliminated or did he not want the job? I can see the pussies at the FA having a problem with Martins staight forward manner but I think he was the best Britain has to offer. God I can't deal with this.

Just watched the game, I must say the Blackburn End in full swing dancing and all got me a bit teary eyed and lumpy throated. Great acheivement. ###### at Pedersen again. Peter is making a point or two with the gaffer I am sure. Apart from the one you mention Rev, the ball cross field to Bellamy would have been spectacular had the defender not done so well. Great, well done everyone at the club. Had a laugh at the beginning the commentators were talking how Hughes had given a new lease of life to Souness' players, Reid, Gray and..... Robbie Savage??? They know nothing do they.

Watched the game and here is my lengthy match report. We took the ######. -
Severe blow that. I was really looking forward to seeing Rooney at the World Cup. Feel sorry for the lad at least he's young enough to have others, hope he heals fast.

Sad isn't it, I can't really say I like any of the English candidates but if I HAD to pick one it would be Sam, reluctantly. Only because I dislike him less than McClaren, at least Sam has a bit of fire in his belly. What a mess. I think Martin O'Neill would be my choice.

Me too, he offers naff all other than his scoring, which just happens to be the point of the game. My thoughts are he hurts the team in the long run. I'd like to see Peter given a decnt run, here he has a bit of an ego problem, is that right. -

My vote went for Nelsen, thought about Bellers but decided to go with the consistancy. His play has been outstanding, calm, decisive and reads the game so well. I thought he was our best player by a mile last night. For the "well how many has Bellers scored crew" How many goals do you suppose we might have shipped with out the Admiral at the heart of our defence. Nothing against Bellers he's a very close second but I simply have not seen a better centre half at Rovers in my time. (Remember I missed the Hendry years) The glamour guy will almost always get the vote of the masses. -

Got to agree with most of that, I have harped on about MGP for some time. Scores cracking goals but is not a good alround player. He was blown off the ball several times tonight. He can't score the cracking goals if we don't get free kicks. Is this the 4th match in a row where we have not had a free kick in scoring position. Is it a coincidence we have only won once (I think) since Pongo has been out of the team. Is Gray injured or out of favour? Also Brad, now you all know I have given him some heavy stick for his lack of "fundamentals", is it just me or is he really improved. He's off his line quicker, his closing down of angles seems better and his coming out to punch is very good. Has there been some serious coaching going on or is Brad finally begining to get it. -

Terrible first half. Neill had his worst game in ages, yes wrong side I know. Don't play him there again. I thought we were much the better side second half, Bellers takes that chance, game over. I too will think we will capitulate to the end of the season, hey what can I say I'm a Rovers fan, false hope springs eternal. Whatever, it's been a cracking season I for one have enjoyed it. A tweek here a tweek there and we could be good. Europe? not quite ready. Not sure I want the dreaded 6th spot anyway, too many teams seem to struggle after finishing 6th. -

Pennant is the one that bothers me. He seemed to have the ability to do as he pleased at Ewood. This one has enough plots and sub plots to be an episode of Dream Team. Should be a fiery one. -

On the MGP thing, I thought he had one of his better all round games. He did whip in some fantastic crosses. Is that two or three games now we have not had a free kick within site of goal. -

I was dead set against the "active inactive" crapola when it came out. In fact I do beleive I metioned it was a tool put there to allow Refs to do excatly what they did today. Give the goals to the big clubs and rule them out for the little guys. I mean come on it is such a gray area and open to abuse, it needs to go. As far as our defenders were concerned he was a threat and we shaped up for that, therefore he is very active. I too was very disappointed Emerton did not get a nod I really really thought he could have been effective down the right instead of Bellers having to go out there. Oh well, we still have a ways to go but I thought we gave a good effort today, 32 clean sheets for Pool they are effective. All in all not too upset about the result, bit sad about the CL chance gone begging but we would have likely embarassed our selves or Arse would go and win it so. I am happy with the progress we made this year. I found it funny within the first 30 seconds that the commentators started having a go at Rovers about, of all things, the pitch. They said we had it bobbly on purpose just to mess up Pools passing play. Where've they been we have a pretty good passing game ourselves. Dickheads. -

What d'you mean I thought they already were. So proud for Stanley, I was there at their first game after being re-formed, beat Formby 2-1 I think. Followed them home and away for a couple of seasons. Yes I actually went, fans travelled on the same coach as the players for some games. Remember Runcorn away in the FA cup, night match, aggro in the stands and everything only lost 1-0. Runcorn were big to us then they had floodlights. Huge crowd from Accy there must have been about 30-40 of us. Lived right across from the Crown, great news, congrats, well done. Now... just get to a point to where you can whoop the clarrots and pay back the Butcher for all these years of exile. -

Hoping to win this one, not just for league position but for bragging rights. Me dad's a scouser and a L'pool fan. Not only would I like to win but I'd like to do it in dramatic style, like coming back from 2-0 down something good like that really rub it in. -
[Archived] Dahlin Insurance Setback
USABlue replied to jim mk2's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
TND, I have no doubt in my mind Insurances companies like this kind of policy. Happy to take the policy payments but they already have a "pre-existing condition" as a means of trying to deny any claims. Insurance is a crock. Take AIG for example, last year they upped my mate's homeowners insurance 40%. This year they plonk down $100,000,000 to put their name on a footy shirt. I hate insurance companies. -

With the benefit of hindsight, the insurance company were more than happy to take the premiums without a thorough exam. What exactly is the Judge trying to say. She is a doctor? If it is no so different from what one sees on the pitch then I don't understand where she is coming from. Probably a Spurs fan. -
Won't concern our Sven at all. He will, as he has shown in the last World Cup, willingly take players who are unfit, based on reputation or name alone.
-
Would not work, Rangers don't have enough English players

We were fortunate to come away with anything. Dickov a total waste of space. Bellamy two world class strikes. Why is Pongo not playing? any one have any idea? We were ###### with the long ball most of the first half. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that two dwarfs are not going to win many high balls against defenders 6ft or better. Lets have Pongo back and more of that good passing footy. Well done Pompey.
-
Pay per view here, I'm ready. Difficult game this one I fancy. Looking forward to it with some nervous trepidation. Not too confident though. Good luck lads let's have another Spurs away type performance but with a better outcome.

I am just a bit more than a little confused, first half De Zeuw obstructs Bellers, free kick and a stern talking to from the ref. Second half almost identical incident in the area...nothing. Clearly obstructed. Decent match to watch I though, wish we could have scored when we had all the game in the first half. Question for the American viewers, did any of you get as sick as I did hearing about Wigan.
