  1. thats how long I think it will take our manager to get the squad together and ready I could be wrong of course - maybe we will do it next season What manager? Cotterill? He's be off first decent offer comes along.
  2. They were just saving themselves for us. you know the secondary game the match that is not important cos promotion or playoffs is more important. Heard a rumor clarrots ere actually resting players for Tuesday. So just how important is the playoffs compared to beating us. Let's get this over with. Hope we beat them, not the end of the world if we don't. I for one would trade our Prem safety for a loss to the clarrots, right now. In the scheme of things being in the prem is what it's about, perhaps not to them, but for me it is, still as they say how can you miss it if youv'e never had it.
  3. You scare me, we could always come out flat too, as we often have. We need to play our game, hold the ball, let them do their headless chicken thing trying to close gaps and pass it around. I would like to see our defenders NOT make the runs into the Burleh half. Did you notice how they stayed off when Nelsen, Johansen pushed forward. They let the defender run with the ball quite deep into their half, a rather obvious ploy to try to catch them out of position with a long hoof ball, but we kept taking the bait. Hope we don't copy that this time they will eventually catch us. Bit worried about Brad too, he had so little to do he may be a bit out of shape. Don't know about the fitness thing either philip, Burnley players are clearly in excellent shape, very fit. I think they will have had plenty of recovery time and if anything this will cause them to be a bit sharper than us from the off. Penalties, if we sub proper we could have a pretty good line up for the penalties, evens stevens there, who knows but with our history I don't fancy it.
  4. Busy today original Longsider. You bored or what? Tuesday coming up fast, not many goals I'm sure. Good turnout for you but I sense the buzz is cos you are feeling pretty confident of beating us after Sunday and no clarrot in his right mind would want to miss such an historic occasion. BTW, well done coming on here under your regular handle, close to anyway. We have one or two clarrot visitors on here using different handles than they do on their own board and they are acting all holier than thou. But USABlue knows better. You always did shoot straight, respect for that. Hey them white gloves that nut was wearing would have gone with the Lee's heh?
  5. About a minute per customer, that is really not bad at all. In fact given the time I have spent on phones booking things and paying for things it's really pretty bloody good.
  6. He does not seem to stay at one place very long does he.
  7. Abbey 1 Abbey 2 Abbey 3 Abbey 4 Thats the 4 i will have 2 ,3 4 gav but your numero uno matey Crikey, I'd better step it up a bit, I don't even get a honourable mention.
  8. The comment was rather tongue in cheek based on Bryans comments. I would not be surprised if you "ZAK" (Zero Actual Knowledge) have clarrot in your handle on your own board.
  9. Nice post Paul, I am really glad you had such a pleasant time. Hopefully we have more of the same after Tuesday, I just have a strong feeling it's going to be naughty. Sad isn't it. 45 years ago we went through a similar thing. Draw at Turf repaly at Ewood. The crowds were over 50,000 at each venue, Rovers and Burnley fans mixed and mingled at each ground, without segregation. NO trouble, wouldn't that be nice.
  10. Sweet, good for you that Bryan. Some form of the word Longsider in user names does show a lack of originality from us Dingles. But check your own list how many people thought adding the word Blue to their place of residence was a novel idea. Preston Blue Accy Blue Aberdeen Blue Baxenden Blue Manchester Blue USA Blue The list is endless. It is hardly Brain of Britain stuff----not even Brain of Blackburn Hope the Blues and the Longsiders all turn up at Deadwood ,the place will be jammers.Oh i should add all the Zaks,Sams and Butchs. Silly Zak, Check your own messeage board for how many have clarrot in their handle. Also who is this USA Blue you mention. Everyone knows I am USA(no space)Blue.
  11. Is that what the White gloves are for, stop the germs.
  12. Been mentioned Eddie? It's been on the front page of the bloody site for two days And I'll be stuck with the internet commentary, at work.
  13. really gav? In that case its lucky for me your opinion of me doesn't reallyconcern me Nothing on my mind but its a bit rich when we have rovers on our board complaining about a few posts that are reception class compared to comments from you, USABlue, ossie, ABBEY need I go on. Consequently I view it as my duty to defend the vast majority of decent Clarets from the nonesense you and your cohorts post by pointing out the dual standards you are employing. Anyway, as you say we aint got all night so I guess we wait now until Wednesday week Please, if you are going to throw my name around here could you remind me of what you are referring to. Exactly, not sort of or supposed. Perhaps I can insult your wife, is that more manly for you. Please, don't you have a game tomorrow and another on Saturday, both of which are bigger than beating us. Should you not be on the clarrot board discussing footy rather than on our board playing handbags and your dads bigger than my dad, he said she said and who did what rubbish. You are obsessing a bit now LS. Facts are facts and as Gav said over the last 15 years Rovers fans have a decent reputation, you simply can not say that about the clarrots. Over 10% of your total attendance to Ewood on Demollition Derby day "mobbed up" after the game. At what point does the small minority as you put it become a sizable force, over 10% thats a lot of your crowd looking for trouble. Agree?
  14. Just read on clarrots mad some dingles are trying to arrange a "Fly Over" for the replay. First Off it's not very original, secondly I haven't the heart to tell them it will be dark and no one will see it. You couldn't make it up, they just have a way of embarrassing themselves.
  15. I saw the same thing in the LET and mentioned it to our resident Dingle at work. He genuinely believes (as do most Dindles) that Grant kept Savage quiet on Sunday! Apart from his tackle from behind on Savage (for which he ought to have been booked but wasn't) I don't recall his name being mentioned at all. Thanks sidders, that's about all I remember of Grant too. I thought for a bit I was losing it.
  16. Did anyone see the comments about Tony Grant in the LET. "Came out on top in his personal duel with Savage? Was I watching another game, I barely recall Grant. How did I miss this.
  17. Working on your excuses already, or trying to soften the blow for your self. Yes it sounds like you are in a difficult situation Mr Clitheroe. My heart bleeds, it really does. Only one thing certain about this next game, someone goes to the next round and someone goes home.
  18. I think you have just made certain of the cock up of all cock ups. The seats weren't splintery were they Rev?
  19. WE HAVE GOT BURNLEY AT HOME.......DONT LOOK ANY FURTHER YET!!! Best advice there is. We are not yet IN the next round. Simply in the hat for the draw. the down side is this will help inspire the clarrots only a home tie against a team they consider beatable and the chance to pencil in their names for the next round.
  20. And Preston, Blackburn and the rest of East Lancs are oases (sp?) of charm and splendour? Get a grip man, comment on the football, the crowd but don't pretend the whole of East lancs is anything other than it is: industrialised and very often derelict awaiting investment from the government's 'regeneration schemes'. I also take great exception to your classification of the inhabitants. care to go head to head in an iq test? I have no problem with humour as those who know me will testify but you are not in the least bit funny. Here's a true story for you, make of it what you will. My Wife is a Geordie. I met her when she was studying at Preston Uni (University Of Central Lancashire is its full title). I lived in the North East after her studies for around 5 years and moved back to Burnley for various family reasons. Today we had to go to the Hospital in Blackburn with my 3 year old son as he needs to have his tonsils removed. We went to the Royal Infirmary and were dealt with by wonderful staff. I had to park just off the hospital on Ivy Street so I dropped my wife and son at the hospital then went to park. After the pre op assesment we walked back to the car and my wife said - and I swear this is the absolute truth - 'its like being in a time warp isn't it' Now i would suggest that Burnley and Blackburn (the towns) are very very similar. Both have some run down area's, both have suffered from the decline of the industry on which they were built, both are trying admirably to build a future for themselves. Lovely story. What's the point? I can tell you too that my wife, who is American dislikes footy but enjoys watching a bit when we play you why? She finds the dingles similarity to the Hillbillies of the South here very amusing. Hey are there really ANY Lancashire mill towns that can be considered eye candy.
  21. Quick view as pointed out quality of football was poor but was it ever going to be anything else on that disgrace of a pitch. Same for both teams yes but suit the clarrots "style" of play more. I can't say Burnleh ever REALLY troubled us, they huffed and puffed and moved the ball around but how many times did Brad have to save? We had the better chances for sure. The Ref, I will agree for the most part had a good game but I thought he reached a point, about 15mins from the end when he became a homer. I am surprised there has been no mention yet of Roches handball, looked to me to be goal bound and he had his arm raised. Much like the penalty given to Sheff U at Arsenal. Tugay was a disgrace to the shirt, Gally, for a local lad sorely dissappointed me, the lad does not even seem to put in the effort, I'm surprised MH goes with him. I would much rather have had Stead with Gally coming off the bench. Someone criticised Neill on here, I don't know why I thought he was solid against the rather tricky Valois, thought LUcas did a good job. Nelsen and Todd solid, Nelsen was turned once but managed to recover, a real gem unearthed by MH there. Well heres hoping things go better at Ewood, too bad it's not on the telly.
  22. Not looking forward to the second half, trying to attack on that bog of a pitch, one end clearly better than the other, we should have done better up front while we had the good half to attack on. Where's Tugay, has he BECOME his invisible friend. Nerves are frayed already not sure I can take 45 mins more.
