Or ask Chelsea too. They have spent huge money on players who have not worked out. It's a fine line but I feel more comfortable staying within our means than buying "big names" and putting the whole future of the club a risk. We have to somehow manage to spend not too much but enough to make sure we do well in the Prem. Hard ask. You think he's moaning? I don't, I think he's just saying it like it is. Do you want Rovers to start playing like Bolton? Or Hughes to be like Big Sam? You've lost your mind. Come on Big Sam moans as much as anyone, if not more. When, or if, we get our full squad together we are more than a match for the Wigans, Boltons and Readings, remember last season. We get a run of fitness from our players and things will look differently. Let's not panic yet, if there is one thing that pisses me off about success it's the expectations that come with it. One would have to think that impovement in the manager and coach, improves the club, yeah? -

That's why I don't understand that some are thinking it should be realtively easy, they've won 3 of their last five. -

For us fan's sanity it is a must win game. Other than that you are right and brace yourself lads and lassies cos we are going to lose the game, I feel it in me water, it smacks of Roveritis. -
I can tell you this, that ball would never have gone out for a Charlton throw, and when he was dispossesed he did not give up the ghost. Clumsy oaf though.
-
Intersting how things swing. When Dickov and Kuqi were here they were constantly slated for not being good enough now they are lost heroes? Not just you ozzie I've seen it several times. Bellamy goes without saying we lost a real talent there. Nelsen and Reid definately two of our more influential players last season. I saw a snippet said Reid is back in light training. Even when those two get back it's gonna be several games before they even get close to full match fitness and get their timing back. HANG ON FELLOW ROVERITES IT"S GONNA BE A WILD RIDE!!!

I'd quite fancy turning that Mia Hamm inside out. -
Premiership club has to be, even if ti is by the skin of our teeth. I would still like to see us get past the next round of the Eufa at least. We can do it. I won't sleep tonight now you buggar. Trust me on this, you do not want that to happen even if it was for only one season we'd never hear the end of it.
-
Must admit I have banged on quite a bit about Gally getting a go, quite defensive of him at times, watching him last night I could taste the humble pie, the lad looked totally lost. Buggar, just looked at the Tables 2 points off relegation with a four point gap to the team with the next highest points. Geordies will be fancying their chances on Saturday they beat a useful side tonight.

Hey keep me out of this, I voiced my concerns about him LAST season when others were all goo goo eyed about him.

I asked him about that, he told me for the kind of money I have he could only buy a dingle player or two. -
So tell me again how many unproven premiership players have Chelsea, Man U Arsenal etc etc bought. Would we have all been elated at the beginning of the season if Rovers anouced they would gamble with Bankruptcy to buy Mescherwotsit, Tevez and Schevcenko? Mmmm. World Class players that have struggled to adjust. Ooyah is looking the part now, Benni is doing ok goals wise, Nonda lazy git. It's really a crap shoot unless you buy English Premiership players and even then things don't always work out. Mark Hughes, how long was he in charge of Wales before they started to slide.
-
Must agree, for all the successes our youth has at it's own level, precious little seems to be coming through to make a serious fist of first team premiership footy.
-
Mmm, must have been the reaction at Old Trafford when Southend done 'em
-
I was thinking Andy Cole
-
I thought Neill was an accident waiting to happen last night, Addicks should have had a penalty and he made several rash challenges. In fairness he did do well overall provided support on his forays forwards, Ooyah, turning out to be a very very good buy. He did well I thought, some very timely tackles, too bad he took leave of his senses to give away the free kick, he could have let Bent go we had a second man coming in behind Henchoz (Sav I think) who would have been able to cover. As for knocking Henchoz, who was there available instead? Todd?? well if it's pace you are after that would rule him out. Forgive me Stu, I picked up the wrong quote, I meant to have the bit that you quoted, still learning this message board thingy.
-
I thought Charlton played very well, good passing, constant danger with very good through balls to their front men. Sam was very good, don't look like a side destined to go down on that performance. One more thought on Nonda, it could be worse, we could have spent almost 30 mil on Schevchenko(sp). Nonda's giving up the ghost infuriates me as, I hope it does Hughes too.
-
Nonda should not play for us again based on that showing. If he is not prepared to put in the effort then sit him down. Lazy, lost the ball to a Charlton player and dropped his arms by his side and gave up, the Charlton player was well with in reach. No need for Henchoz to give up the free kick in the first place, only Neill had any clue what was going on but he did not spot it till too late. I saw where they were going to put it from my couch. Passing was woeful tonight, we were poor overall and did not deserve anything from the game. On to Newcastle, we need 3 points from that cos Reading will surely give us a hiding. Looks like Bert will be out long term. We'd have lost by at least 4 but for Brad anyway, he was immense tonight. Do you just copy and paste this crapola, if not you might want to, save you sometime

Mmmm. Good thought s Colin. I really hope I did not open a can of worms here. I had no idea there would be any real issues, suppose I did not think it through but then again it was an impulse from the heart so..... I guess I had an idealistic image on my mind of dad off to the footy and little Jimmy (or Jimmyette) being left behind, or little Jimmy's(ette's) best mate and his Dad off to watch and the poor sod is left behind. Helping someone like that was my thought. Hopefully someting like that can be acheived, if not then surely a child at Ewood who would otherwise stayed at hope is fine. I don't know, I'm rambling a bit, hope it does not get too complex, it's why I asked for ideas. Nah! that's MR Ed, silly. -

Not sure, names in a hat sounds like a pretty level playing field. Got any ideas? Be happy to hear 'em. Who's Ed? -

Unlike yourself and your Dodgers, I have been to Ewood and did for many years and all over England watching us. Sorry to hear about your Dodger problem though. Always at least one isn't there! I was seriously considering taking you up on the Europe thing but then I thought how could I be so generous to someone who can't even spell the word, so I ruled you out. -
