  1. I AM SICK OF THIS THREAD. THIS WHOLE MGP THING IS OUT OF ORDER. HE IS A LIGHTWEIGHT WHO IS NOT YET GOOD ENOUGH OR MAN ENOUGH TO PLAY IN THE PREM. hE WAS SIGNED BY THE SAME MAN WHO BROUGHT US AMO AND MATTEO. NOW ALL YOU NORWEGIANS LET IT GOOOOO, HE WILL BE PLAYED IF AND WHEN HE IS GOOD ENOUGH NOW GIVE IT A ###### REST. Note to Mark Hughes, FFS don't sign anymore Norwegians, they end up polluting our board wondering why thet did not make it.
  2. Almost ditto. I must admit Sparky started to make a beleiver relatively quickly, even the two 4-0's did not discourage me. I think he is on the right track, can he sustain it? I hope so. I am now looking forward to being able to watch the games when they are on instead of just watching them out of blind loyalty. He keeps things moving in this direction and the gates should pick up. We may not always be the prettiest but the effort is their for all to see and it is worth the price of a ticket Well done Mark Hughes, now let's just hope he does not get the dreaded Manager of the Month anytime soon. As far as Marsh's comments, no one player? Well in my mind that is just fine as long as we have the right balance it means the opposition never knows where the danger is coming from. Perhaps it is better to have several players that can do a little damage than one who gets a lot of attention. Case in point, would Gally have been allowed so much space for his goal if he had the reputation of a big name player, I think not.
  3. Great game by the lads today. I thought most played well. Being a Rovers fan I found it quite nail biting, it seems that anyhting other than a ten goal lead with 2 mins left and I am going to be uncomfortable. The man I thought was huge today was Andy Todd, I have only really seen one other really positive comment. I thought he played Andy Cole out of the game, stuck to him, gave him no room. Fulham restricted to two really good chances, both from blown calls by the officials, Radzinski WAS offside thank god that did not go in. Andy Cole, clear handball AND some well high studs too, thank god Brad got to the. I can't help but feel early in the year BOTH those chance wold have gone in. Perhaps Lady Luck is coming back, she might not have a Season Ticket but she has popped in a time or two. All that along with a penalty and a clean sheet, made for an upbeat day.
  4. Phil, I completely agree with you. The rotten press and media has blown this out of all proportion because they are simple-minded pillocks. So, just one 15 second round of applause for Cole will put it right. You don't have to do it because you mean it or because you think it's right. It'll just put the good name of our club back on board. It'll help distance us from those couple of pillocks. And the media will lap it up like the fools that they are. They will love it. We will suddenly become the most friendly club in the country. I know. Big fib. Sad isn't it? I just hope everyone at CC does the big cheer for Cole. Utter rubbish Colin, nothing can repair the damage. Our reputation should have preceeded this event anyway, nothing after the fact is going to change matters. IMHO the only reason this was as big of an issue as it was is it occured just days after the Spain debacle. Just re-read your post Colin, missed parts of it first time round. Or should I say the sarcasm did not register untill I re-read it. So not utter rubbish, OK
  5. Burglars and robbers don't get hunted with the same venom that he was. Perhaps for the minorities, if your house is robbed tell the police you heard the perpertrator making monkey noises as he left. Things are getting topsy turvy, I wonder when my beloved England finally succumbs to being run by the "minorities" will the English nationals still have the same rights of protection under laws against racism. Shillito, if you don't understand what I am getting at then there is no point me trying to explain.
  6. Cna't see us getting much out of this one, Fulham showed at Newcastle how devastating they can be on the break. I don't see us being able to deal with the pace of their attack.
  7. My point exactly, and all the while calling for us to have signed Hartson. Oooh wait a mo' Hartsons white and Cole is Bl.... Nah it couldn't be. You're missing the point I'm trying (and obviously failing) to make. Thanks to those two "fans" on Sunday, Rovers are now seen as a racist club with racist supporters and by supporting Andrew Cole the Fulham match gives us the chance to show the nation that we are not. Or perhaps you think we should boo Cole because he is one of our former players ? In view of events at the Birmingham game, and with the press and TV cameras watching, I don't think that would be a good idea, do you ? jim, we booed one of our greatest players ever, MERCILESSLY, it did not make even a small footnote. Thank god Alan Shearer was not Black. No I did not miss your point. Cole, although I think over the long term was disappointing there is no denying his goals in his first year kept us in the Premiership. Does he deserve a rousing reception, I don't think so. Are you saying we should give him one just because he's black. I don't even want to mention what overtones that carries
  8. My point exactly, and all the while calling for us to have signed Hartson. Oooh wait a mo' Hartsons white and Cole is Bl.... Nah it couldn't be.
  9. Priceless! What a pity that you didn't video that and send it off to the media. That would have put a proper perspective on the entire incident and diffused the whole situation in one fell stroke. Out of the mouths of babes and innocents eh? Don't be silly, it would most likely have been reported as "Rovers fan begins Racist training at early age" So, my question is, How many man hours are Lancshires finest going to devote to this idiot? In the mean time home burglaries and violent assualts go un investigated.
  10. I agree, but what happens when it is "reverse" racism. No one bats an eye. I simply can not understand how Two indiviuals can become national news for some remarks and or gestures. It's just gone too far, I mean I have it on good authority one can not even ask for a Black coffe at Ewood. Give me a break, it's all crackers, oops sorry did not mean to offend any white people.
  11. I wish I could pull up some of the things you wrote about Cole before he left, before you were siding with anything anti Souness.
  12. What a ferkin sorry state of affairs. It really is I am ashmed of my own homeland. Because ONE or TWO, yes one or two individuals in a crowd of over 20,000 make some noises? no, because of the "racism" thing? no. I'll tell you why because the fact ONE or TWO people can do that and it takes up 15 pages on here, it covers all the newpapers, it has totally out performed what I thought was a most enjoyable game. The will always be morons, of ALL SKIN COLOURS. I can't beleive it is even an issue I really can't. A bloody drunk(I'm assuming) makes a noise like a monkey and posts with KKK come up, you IDIOTS you really are bloody stupid IDIOTS. How many of you know what the Klan is about, let me tell you it goes far beyond monkey noises. Please if you are going to throw names around know what you are talking about. You know if I had a nickle for every black guy that has racially insulted me I would be bankrolling our club. It is so insignificant in the big scheme of life, it's such a total waste of energy. Every week our fans sing Burnley fan's peel bananas with their feet, is that OK? Sounds sort of racist to me.
  13. Funnily enough, I'd swap those markings. Toogs pass out right for Jansen's goal was sublime. Whereas Bert was about 30% (and I've measured this scientifically, with a ruler) "on top of his game." When he is on form, defenders are soiling their pants. Today there was no need for the placcy bag in the Brum dressing room, that's for sure. One pass gets you an 8? Toogs is finished in my opinion. A fancy pass here and there means nowt when the opposition is walking right through him. Emerton did OK today diassapered for a bit but was instrumental in keeping us moving forward many times.
  14. Are you being serious or just trying to back up some prior claims you have made. I don't see how he cost us two goals today. If you are talking about the fluffed clearance in mid air because he was the only Rovers player who seemed to know what was going on then you are really streching it. Jay McKevley is responsible for one of the goals in my mind, he got completely lost on Melchiots run. Embarrassed is most like. Could every one including the nice Norwegians that come on here please get of the bloody MGP thing I am sick to the bloody back teeth of hearing about him. When Hughes deems him ready he will play. You would persevere with the defensive partnership that went missing for almost the whole of the first half?? Sad truth of the matter is, you may be right.
  15. A cheeky little back heel too. Dunny was respectful I thought, for those who watched on TV did anyone catch the shot where he sort of rolled his eyes after scoring. I thought that was a sort of a I wanted to score but Iam sorry I did. Well done to Dunny.
  16. It's a bit heated here, Brownie I respect your opinion but here is mine. Dwight Yorke took our club and it's fans for a ride. More often than not when ever he stepped on the field he was taking the ######. He was lazy and really did not give a toss. Oh yes he banged in a few goals but whos to say young Stead would not have if he'd been in Yorkes shoes at the time. For the most part both him and Cole leeched off our club, making decent paydays from past glories. Luckily for us they were better when seperated on the pitch because the times when they played together they were abysmal and a disgrace to the shirt.
  17. I've never doubted gally, he really can be a huge influence on a game. Mostly when coming off the bench, our super sub. If Bothroyd comes back and does well as he has suggested he can, Stead picks up, Jansen continues to improve (albeit a little bit) Hughes could have a bit of a selection problem on his hands. Matty still looks off, perhaps his knee I don't know but I will revert back to my original thought, he has lost the instinct. A couple of times today he was one on on out on the left and he really did not seem to know what to do. Matty of old would have skipped by, or at least tried to, the man on him. At least he scored, that has to help his confidence.
  18. Well, this is all very interesting. I watched the game on TV so I can not be accurate but the crowd was coming through quite clearly. Lot's of booing but I did not hear monkey noises. None of the commentators made any mention of it either so if it was there surely it was only a small number. Nothing wrong with the booing given the link between Dwight and our club. Hopefully there was no racist stuff but I don't know for sure, if there was it's too bad. I would have booed him too had I been there given his poor showing for us during his time here. My biggest worry actually was with all that booing I thought for sure the lazy SOB is going to rub it in our face and get the winning goal. Yet again jim shines through, he has hold of something negative toward the club and it must be true, even though there are mixed reports of what actually happened. Good on you jim, jim could you like, just go support Stanley or something?.
  19. Hey! What the hell do I know. Good, no great comeback. One thing I don't understand is how Cunningham was allowed to hold Dickov all afternoon. Thought the ref let the game go quite well. It was one of the more physical games I have seen for a while, he let a lot of contact go. Good game. The only time I think I have seen Dickov NOT follow the shot in was the one time the keeper spilled it. Very happy for Reid, he's taken a lot of stick from this board but he left it all out on the pitch today.
  20. This is horrible, I hate when we score early, we always seem to take our foot of the pedal when we do. We are in serious trouble, chance of turning this game are very very slim, our chances of going down are almost certain.
  21. lets say we got 7.5 mill for him. which classy midfielder would we replace him with? who do you think would come to blackburn now, given the state of the team, club and finances. Certainly no one has good as barry fergusson - that's for sure. The team should be built around him. Sorry don't agree... Everton paid £2 million for Tim Cahill who is playing just as well as Barry Ferguson, if we could get someone of similar quality to Cahill for that price and still have £5 million or so to play around with then we should do it. Even players like Carrick are going for around £4 million. The more I think about it, the more I think I would snap their hands off for £7.5 million. I must admit I have not seen as much of Cahill as you have LeChuck but from what I have seen I can't say he is playing just as well as Fergie. Sure he's knocked in a couple of goals but overall? I defer to your judgement due to the fact you have seen more of him than I but I just doubt it. However, if we are comparisom shopping how about Dafoe at 7 Mill, there's one I might have rather had. I wish there was a way to pick out the old posts cos it seems to me when Cahill was brought up on here just about everyone poo pooed the idea. First Div player, already got reid and Neill, what is Souness getting kick backs, some of the comments I recall. When we were in for Bazza all I remember, with the exception of a few who thought he was too pricey (Rev and Myself for sure), is comments like we should break the bank, top notch player, we must outbid Everton, we have to have him. Funny how things change so quickly.
  22. Philip not really sure what you think my reservations are I tend to agree with teapreacher also, except for the passing ability. No doubt he is good but the best mmm, thats open. I am just saying he does best with a bit more time and space, a luxury he is not often afforded. On the Tim Cahill thing, remember a season and a half ago, Souness was sniffing around Cahill and the sentiment on here was that he was not good enough, how things change huh? Can't wait for tomorrow, it's o the telly over here too. Fulham next week as well.
  23. At his best when the game is ahead of him?? I think I would have to agree with that, if he has space. If the wee fella is allowed some time on the ball with options ahead of him he looks outstanding. Problem is, in the Prem it does not happen much. that is compounded by the fact our forward line does not offer much in the way of movement, SPL it happened a lot, teams playing 'gers would sit back giving Fergie the room he needs, good forward movement, hence Fergie looks like a world beater. He needs a partner or two to take the opposition's eye off him and help stop him being pressured. Next, best passer of the ball in British football?? I don't think I can agree with that sorry. Bazza has an air about him but I think to make it work Sparky has to make him the pivotal man, leaning me toward your case for having him replace Tugay, but, and it is a big but, can we teach our forwards to understand Fergies game and learn to read what he is going to do. Then and only then will Fergie become the "top top player in the prem' that Souness predicted. Just my thoughts, now tear em up.
  24. Will it still be considered stupid if it has the results Hughes is hoping for, better links throughout the club. Success for BRFC, if it comes, both short and long term, should justify this move. Can't really fairly judge it as stupid until we have seen the full impact.
  25. No problem Colin, one of the points I was trying to make is it is not unique to the USA. Course it's rotten, no one likes it.
