Southgate will go with 2 in midfield - rice and likely Phillips. Which leaves four up front. Now that Bellingham is a fixture in that front 4 rather than the likes of Mount, i think that makes us a lot more dangerous

100%. Refs bottle it and don't make a decision thinking that VAR will correct it. The VAR looks at it and says "not a clear and obvious error" so don't overturn anything. Leads to some really odd and inconsistent decisions.

On the Newcastle goal, the ball stays in (there's a midges dick in it but it's in), Gordon is in an offside position but the ball goes backwards, however that is a foul all day long.

Not for me, the second challenge for both were borderline and would have been soft sending offs. I disagree. The rules have been tinkered with and tweaked so much that refs are tying themselves in knots with decisions weak in weak out. The refs can't get it right so what chance do us fans have of following it. Once our rules are in order and we have a decent standard of refereeing, then we can stop looking at how other sports are doing things.

It's very easy to get sent off in the PL these days. Neither Young or Konate should have seen red but one did. Lack of consistency again. When did every foul become a booking?

When you think our front 4 could includ - Kane, Bellingham, foden, Rushford, grealish, maddison, youve got to think most teams should fear us. Full backs we're well stocked in and then there's Rice and Stones in the middle. It's a fantastic squad.

This is the only thread I'm going to be checking for the next couple of weeks I think 🤣 Of course the recent run is cause for concern but I do feel like once everything clicks we could be a handy little side. Moran, siggy, Sammy, a fit Ennis is a decent front 4. I think there's a player in Markanday somewhere and if Dolan found his form again then that's not a bad back up. Midfield players are good just need the right balance and defence is good if a little lacking in depth. I think out best 11 fully fit and played in the right system would be unplayable.

I thought the same. You'd thought there would be a standard process for each review i.e. state what you're reviewing, what the onfield decision was and then after running through a checklist state clearly what the decision is. Other sports do it.
