Hoping @Tyrone Shoelaces is still online 😂 Had a broken front door handle, ordered a new one after measuring over and over again but its some how not fitting right. As you can see from the picture below it's bent out in the middle. Old and new handles have identical dimensions, all the holes line up perfectly. I used the old screws and spindle rather than the new ones which were a touch longer so confused what isn't working. Am I right in thinking the spindle is pushing it out I'm the middle? If so is it as simple as cutting it down a few mm? Functionally it feels sturdy and is working fine (for now) but looks naff, inside and out.

Accountant here - I've used it, it doesn't do my job for me (yet) but certainly short cuts it for me. 1. I'm the guy people ask to go research accounting standards and give technical advice. I usually ask ChatGPT the same question I get asked. It doesn't give a perfect answer but it gives me enough of a starting point. At the very least it tells me which part of a 70 standard to look at. 2. It'll write an excel formula or a macro for me in seconds. Again it's not always perfect but will give me something to alter rather than writing from scratch AI is going to be huge very soon. I saw a good quote on LinkedIn, AI won't takeover your job, people who aren't afraid to use AI will take over your job.

I've been thinking the same. Disallow Coventrys goal, Hedges buries his one on one with the keeper and we get that last minute penalty against Burnley, thats 5 points right there and we're comfortably in the playoffs and that's. Now add a 20 goal striker and some of those small losses where we've dominated the game but not taken our chances turn into victories and we're pushing automatic and JDT is a hero.

There will be a good number of people on here who even in August were tipping us for a relegation scrap who are also calling for JDTs head because we've had a poor season. We can all be disappointed with how the season has ended and dropping out the top 6 etc but a little perspective - none of us anticipated a play off fight and with no goal scorer in the team we've done well to even be in with a shout. I know project is a dirty word and we don't generally like to give people time but it was never going to be instant given the state of the squad at the end of last season and how late it was before we got new manager and DoF in. TM previously banged on about the project and then had to rebuild the squad every summer. For the first time in a while we head into summer and I'm thinking that a handful of quality additions means we can really push on whereas previously I was thinking we need to replace half the squad to just stand still. Overall I think JDT has done a good job - granted there have been frustrations e.g. when he's not been braver at 1 up and ended up concealing an equaliser and I think that if we have a good window he can get us into the play offs next season.

Get rid of Ayala unless you could convince him to take a huge pay cut. Getting half a season out of Ayala on cheapo wages - could do a lot worse. Dack I would keep unless we've got a 20+ season striker who we need the wages for. I don't want to free up Dacks wages to fund a disappointing loan fee

Could have been me that said it. Can't remember who we were playing but their GK was dicking about in 90+ minutes and a yellow is of no benefit to us. Pushing and shoving at a set piece usually results in the ref having a word and some times booking but never giving a foul either way

Even with players 2 yards away from him he seems to have all the time in the world to play a pass and a good one at that. I've not had excitement about a player for a long time but I'm looking forward to building a team around him next year.

Excellent bit of perspective. When we were sat with no DoF and no manager days before pre season started and a threadbare squad, we were fearing a bad bad season. It'll be an absolute sickener if we don't get top 6 but we've exceeded all expectations this season. To me the squad feels like it has some direction and it feels like we're a good window away from really pushing on.

You dont need refs doing VAR. VAR shouldn't be there to re-ref every decision it just needs someone with eyes to pipe up on the mic and say for example "I think that's hit his arm there do you want another look" the ref can then say "Yeah I saw it but XYZ" or "no I missed that bring it up onscreen" then the ref looks at it and makes a decision, not someone in a room hundreds of miles away, the red on the pitch. By all means use the VAR as a sounding board but the decision should be the refs. What annoys me is that the ref will stand around for 2 minutes and then go to the monitor. Why not just go to the monitor as soon as its clear a decision needs to be made?

Can't remember who I was listening too but they said that basically if they sold Loftus-Cheek, Mount and Gallagher, they'd be there or thereabouts with the FFP limits. Today's markets with the British mark up, there's £120m+ worth of player across those three and they're all Academy graduates so that's all pure profit.
