Is there any news on whether Nyambe is signing a new deal? If he played for another club and he came up on a free, most would ve saying to snap him up

I assume he can take training in the UK but done at risk of the work permit not being granted and his contract of employment therefore being invalid. Nothing stopping him as a holiday maker rocking up and standing in a field saying "you run there, you run here".

I've no problem with a wage structure but it's got to be sensible. Last season it felt like academy lads were being held back (wage wise) by virtue of the fact they'd come through the academy. When ayala is paid 15k a week to chat to the physios, you've got to then pay lenihan who was playing every game and wearing the armband, atleast a comparative wage if not higher.

Gally had a few games last season where he showed what he could do - work rate, tackles, defending and goals. Boro is one that stands out. Then other games he'd come out and it was like his twin brother. Whimped out of challenges, couldn't trap a bag of cement. I'd agree there is a player in there, just hope JDT can get him to do it consistently

Keep Dolan for sure. He was signed two years ago for the U23s and is now a regular in the first team and will be playing for a manager who wants to play high intensity attacking football, he'll thrive in that. Potential is there, now let's get him settled under (hopefully) a manger that will play logical formations.

Thanks @joey_big_nose - put it far better than i did. No disrespect to Carter at all. I think it's time to give him some minutes and see what he can do but we shouldn't be reliant on him. If for example he stulruggled with the step up to the championship then we're in trouble

Surely if we're going into the season with Carter higher than 4th choice we're in for a long old season. Two CBs are essential.

Markanday Travis and Gally were the ones that stood out as actually properly interacting with JDT where as most of the rest looked either scared or disinterested. I spend most of my day being very lazy at work but when a new boss turns up it's a tuck your shirt in, give a strong handshake and a smile and pretend I'm good at small talk. That wasn't there with a lot of the squad.

How many new managers / DOFs come in and say "that manager was shit, he should never have bottled it in the second half of the season"? Play the game, come in pay a compliement to the last manager and then change pretty much everything he did. Let's see how much they change at the club and that will show you how much he actually values the foundations mowbray laid. I think it's been clear the ambition is the Premier league?

Agreed, I thought it was odd he hadn't reached out to Nyambe. That's the sort of thing you need to act fast on because there's a finite amount of time before his contract expires and its one less position off the list. Would have thought there would be more circling for him though but there doesn't seem to be the interest.

Agreed it won't be for the sake of it but we don't have a huge budget and past experience we're not fast to act so maybe we can get a bit of advantage by fishing in a slightly more obscure pond that we have a bit more knowledge of - rather than competing with the rest of the championship for the same players.

I imagine when he said it'll take 1 or 2 transfer windows that translates to "this window we just need bodies in next window we can get rid of some dross"

Even just on paper you can see the squad is light. You don't need to watch them train to know that for example 2 of our starting CBs last season have left
