Tbf. Just for balance.... The main irritation(for me anyway!) is that it's mostly the same few posters repeatedly making the same miserable types of comments over and over... And it's not just in regards to transfers! they look for the worst in every little thing rovers related, if you saw those same comments in the LT comments section you'd simply just assume that they where dingle supporters reveling in it all.

Not going to lie, the lack of serious transfer activity is now borderline pathetic. If it carrries on this way it will yet again be 2 steps forward 4 steps back for Rovers in the venky era. The salary structure needs modifying, we'll never make any quality permanent senior transfers again until it is. #SUNHAIL&WaggotOut P.s. The fkin pop up ads thid site use for mobile browsers is infuriating.

Watched Sherwood over the past week, started really well then just got a bit "soapy" I thought, like a feature length episode of emmerdale farm with better acting towards the end

Yep it was Bebeto! https://www.irishtimes.com/sport/blackburn-may-bid-for-bebeto-1.98340 Also failed moves for Bierhof(who was gkin ace and would have been the perfect Shearer replacement) Klinsmann and Martin Dahlin to name a few that summer. Obviously Dahlin did join us a year or 2 later but had suffered bad injuries in the meantime so we barely got a glimpse of his quality .

Not just those huge international names though, plenty of solid premier league players I remember us making initial moves for but getting knocked back, players like Trevor Sinclaire, Dion Dublin, Mat Le Tiss... Off the top of my head, I'm sure if you where to go through the archives of the Lancashire evening telegraph from that era there was almost weekly stories of offers being made at times, I even remember us enquiring about Edmuno(or was it Bebeto🤔 one of those Brazilian greats from the 90s)

It still won't even be 1/8 as impressive as the Missed out 11 from Jack walkers years 😅 (and that's mainly in the seasons after we'd one the league) But it does feel like the players we've made serious moves for have just been humouring us and using us just to force the hand of other interested parties into making a move.

Tbf Broughton even said it would take a few transfer windows to get us really moving towards where we want to be, I agree that we dont need to be signing half a dozen new "senior" first team players at this point, but we do really need to get the defence sorted so that we have something solid to build on and keep us afloat! During this 'transitional period' I think we 100% need another quality proven CB and RB, then not so urgent but still important... A reliable backup keeper. I think pickering has until Christmas to prove his worth at LB We obviously need another goalscorer when one comes available at the right price that can pitch in with at least 15 goals a season In the meantime I'm hoping team spirit and a hungry set youngsters will help us get of to an energetic pragmatic start to the season... But they cant be relied on for to long.... Once we get into the nitty gritty of the season we'll need a few older heads to keep the pace

Would love to see BBD given/offered a bumper new contract. Right now id be happier with that than i would seeing us break the bank on an unknown. If he's happy here then I cant see why he wouldn't sign it if it's a good offer, end of the day if he signs it but then decides he still wants to leave in the future he'd still get his move if a good enough offer came in 🤷♂️

People on here already starting to try and make Broughton our latest villain! As far as i can see it's JDTs job to tell Broughton which positions need strengthening and then its Boughtons job to identify some players and draw up a short list, BUT! Its still Sunhail Pasha, Waggot and Owners job to negotiate the deals to get the players in. So in that regards nothing has changed, the broblem is still with useless amature shits Sunhail(the illusive) Pasha and Steve Waggot.

It is funny how perceptions of sports can vary completely from one small area to the next. Personally growing up in blackburn on council estates and going to Catholic comprehensive schools pretty much anything other than football seemed posh or middle class to me and i still have zero interest in any other sports. Also just being honest, but it was only really Asian kids that showed interest in cricket when i was young, Maybe its not the same today but it was all pretty much determined by your cultural background back then

I don't think he's far wrong! But a replacement for Nyambe would also be needed first, as for replacing Rothwell.... I personally think hedges will do that... As exciting as Rothwell could be when in full flow... I think Hedges (although a different type of player) would provide more assists, goals and consistency over a season.

Get Ben Davies in by the weekend, whatever it takes! We cant keep losing out to league rivals! The club needs to start showing some real intent as far as transfers go. He'd be an immediate improvement over Lenihan and a potential captain for years to come if we can get him in permanently in the future. Berget would be a solid versatile addition to the squad and i think having a player on the pitch that knows what Tomasson wants will help a lot
