v Stoke City (h) - 18/4/22

It’s very sad, but Mowbray’s lack of passion was sure to rub off on the players eventually. No enthusiasm, pride and joy to play the game they love are dead. -

There’s really no statements that can be made today, by either a Rovers win or a loss. Two things would make us all feel better: 1) Rovers win; 2) Mowbray resigns. Make yourself feel good, Tony, & us feel better about you: Go out on a Rovers win. -

Exactly, all cogent Rovers fans know enough not to expect a win every time. But to lose to the dross of the division, is simply inexcusable. Bristol, @Reading, @Coventry, & Blackpool, all points we dropped that were winnable. At least 8 pts, just pissed away. -

I disagree with calling Mowbray names, or making fun of him. I don’t know him personally. He just needs to go, and it’s past time for that to happen. -

Yes, I am afraid we’re looking at a rebuild, from the ground up. I cannot see any of the out of contract players staying. -

It should be an active off-season. Replace mgr, & his team; several of our better players are out of contract, they must be replaced; four loaners (two of whom are our better players) must be replaced, etc. Maybe we need a load of unfamiliar faces. Maybe who we have now are too willing to embrace mediocrity. We are a young enough club, but right now, I would take even younger players, managed by a younger, hungrier manager. -

That’s it. Getting hammered by last place Posh. We’re a laughingstock. I am convinced any manager in Championship could’ve kept us in playoff places. -

I’m a bit anxious about his 11 today; it seems our wingers & forwards should pick themselves. We are sure to see Tonys flying circus today. -

Mike Jackson, caretaker manager. 18.2% winning in brief manager roles. This is dingles’ bump to get them to safety!? Whoever they hire won’t do what Dyche did for them. -

You’re right, and what a surprise… I think at one point this season, we had 11 clean sheets in 15. I have to say, Wharton, Nyambe, Lenihan, JPvH, were exceptional earlier in the season. Kaminski, good all year. -

Rovers history vs Posh, 6 wins, 3 losses, certainly not a rivalry or grudge match. However, the reverse fixture marked the beginning of our 6-game win streak (it seems so long ago!), and at the time many of us believed it was the start of Rovers’ promotion push. It was; the start and end of it. I would like to believe we still have a hope of promotion, a reason for Rovers to give their best effort and excitement amongst our fan base. Sadly, the opportunity, the moment, seems to have passed us by. Since the beginning of March, Rovers have managed to get 6 points from 21 possible- the performance relegations are made of. A season-best crowd of 17,806 vs Blackpool, a day to honor Tony Parkes, and a mighty push toward the end of the season, alas, came to a poor effort. Good Friday, might be good to Rovers. A 1-0 win would be enough to lift our mood somewhat, but not enough to restore this once promising season, to hope of achieving glory, and promotion. Sadly, a 1-0 win, over the 24th team on the table, will have to suffice. -
All talk of his transfers, loans, dispositions on the pitch, etc, aside, to me, it comes down to one thing: His Major accomplishment at the club was promoting out of League 1. That’s ancient history now. it’s simply time to move on.

My mind is numb, after the last three months. Clean house this summer, even if we might lose a jewel or two amongst the dross, but let’s start afresh next season. It’s almost better playing for 18th, than being tantalized with promotion fantasies every week.
