  1. I don't mean this disrespectfully or aggressively, but as a genuine question - as members of the Venky's family seem fully dug in to our club. Who would have to retire, step down - or die - from the family, for Venkys to realistically sell the club - who is the family member(s) that's clinging on and preventing a sale. I can't see them passing us down to their children to inherit many years from now. Like I said, not a "Let's Kill Venky's" post, more of a what would it actually take for them to sell us at a loss - as a Championship team.
  2. McFadzean, Garrett, O'Riordan, Leonard, Gilsenan, Sigurdsson, Tyjon should all be moved on (majority loans) this month. I personally like and have hopes for Siggy, but it's not going to happen here. The current loans are Beck, Sanderson, Cozier-Duberry... meaning we have 2 more "squad" loans left - they need to be the ambition of a Brereton-Diaz or Luis Suarez (lol), and not 2 more teenage projects. Striker and Winger of QUALITY, and we could be cooking!
  3. Weimann and Leonard just be playing "next goal wins" for the hattrick match ball... story of our season.
  4. Nah, not for me. As a striker (not on Penalties) going down there is soft.
  5. Doubtful. Hopefully he can be taught on loan L1 after this game.
  6. Thought we'd signed NFL Hall of Famer Dion Sanders. He's probably fitter than half the squad and would be able to catch more crosses than Pears.
  7. Not read back 51 pages, but my main thoughts. 1) Lost a 0-0 game 0-1, again. Feels like Burnley (at Ewood) is that exact game every time now. They manage to bundle a win out of the jaws of drawing. 2) The referee completely bottled a clear as they come 2nd yellow for Laurent, and in all truth the official bottled the entire 2nd half (including the time wasting)... though Rovers were never scoring, not even in 10 minutes of added time. 3) Shout out to the 10,000-12,000 or so additional Rovers supporters today, great atmosphere and support - what a difference it makes 🔵⚪️. Guess we'll see you all in 2 years time for the next Burnley match.
  8. Which is why Rovers really shouldn't get Jake Garrett on the pitch tomorrow - or the FA Cup game - until it is decided what to do with him. Edit: Although he would be allowed to return to Bristol Rovers... for what that is worth.
  9. That's fucking inexcusable from ACD. Pathetic.
  10. Two "Premium" loans (almost certainly) guarantees you a ticket to the dance - top 6 - maybe more. January 2019: Aston Villa add Tyrone Mings and Kourtney Hause to a loan contingent of Tammy Abraham, Anwar El Ghazi, Axel Tuanzabe and Yannick Bolasie. Same season, Derby make the Playoff final with Mason Mount, Harry Wilson and Fikayo Tomori as key loans. The correct CF and LW (CB, RB or GK?) - whoever they are, could actually do it. Cozier-Duberry and Beck are a promising two, let's double it! Who those players are... I ain't the foggiest.
  11. Gueye has turned into prime Paulo Wanchope!
  12. That's as clear a pen as you'll see, and the ref (and his linesman) have absolutely had a shocker.
  13. Another standard Tuesday away performance (and result) looking nailed on after 33 minutes.
  14. Conditions are woeful for football, yet one team is at least trying, and are playing and spreading the ball wide with pace. Kasey Palmer running the show in 2024 was not on my season Bingo card. Living by a prayer that half, and trying to play like it's a glorious sunny August day. If there ever was a set of weather conditions for Makhtar Gueye.
  15. Kwarme Poku, James Hill and Louie Barry. Yes to any, yes to all. A proper #9 is or course the priority, and another player to slot in front of McFadzean on the depth chart. I'm sure Southampton are already planning for life back in the Championship, seems nailed on that Brereton-Diaz will get a head start on them by a window, wonder if there would be any mutual interest? Pears, Brittain, Batth, Hyam, Beck, Travis, Tronstad, Poku, Cantwell, Brereton-Diaz *New* Squad: Toth, Hill, JRC, Pickering, Carter (start when fit), Baker, Dolan, Hedges, Ohashi, Barry, Weimann. That's playoff level. Absolutely none of it happening.
  16. Fucking Dolan. Take longer next time you weapon!
  17. VAR and that's a red. Looked "orange" on first viewing, so you know the home team in the 12th minute get away with it.
  18. Yup, at least 2. And my William Hill bet reflects that confidence. You can usually tell within 15 minutes how these midweek games go... and that's typically because we lose 80% of them over the past dozen years without scoring. Prove me wrong!!
  19. Win, lose or draw, this substitute cameo form JRC is a 0/10.
  20. Rovers just lost to maybe the worst team I've seen at Ewood Park in a decade. Embarrassing performance.
  21. You could write a book called "The art of promising attacking football and fucking it up", and just show that half. Delaying passes, taking FOREVER to attempt a shot, wrong decision after wrong decision, oh, and some downright shite technique. If Stoke would have rocked up at Leeds or Burnley with that performance, it'd be 3-0, at least. Stoke should also be embarrassed by what they've shown that half, time wasting from kick-off. 1 minute of added time could have easily been 8. Of course, if/when they win 0-1 they'll call it masterful. What a waste of a first half of promise.
  22. I'd maybe prefer JRC there and Brittain behind, but i agree with the rest. Far to open at the back IMO. Chasing players up and across the pitch leaving huge empty areas. Lucky to be 0-0. All to play for.
  23. Refund all away supporters. Unacceptable.
