I've seen that game at least 25 times over the last half decade! Pedestrian, pointless possession, false 9, 0.5xG, lose 1-0 in the 2nd half, usually last 15 minutes. Quick Wiki search shows that over the last two (full) seasons we have had TWELVE 1-0 away defeats, thats ¼ of every away game we play - including: Cardiff 1-0 (83) Wigan 1-0 (63) Birmingham 1-0 (60) QPR 1-0 (83) Sheff Utd 1-0 (92) (performance exception) Reading 1-0 (78) Bristol City 1-0 (82) QPR 1-0 (54) Wycombe 1-0 (67) That is just the 2nd half losses, there were plenty other non scoring defeats. Predicted it before KO, odds are we'll see this game again at least a few more times this season (Night games at Millwall and Birmingham?). Never gets any more enjoyable. -

Not for the first time I found myself sat here thinking Callum Brittain is the best player on the pitch. Feels very "Covid Mowbray" this one. 61% possession and 0.32xG. Everything seems fine/Rovers on top when it's a draw, however if this turns into a 1-0 defeat it'd look completely spineless. -

That is officially perhaps the worst XI Rovers have fielded since their return to this level. However I remember saying that before we played Bristol City a couple of December's ago, and we smashed it. Coming for a 0-0. -

I beg you all to watch the CBs. They've been told to follow their attackers far into the other half - and constantly leave a huge void in the centre of the defensive half. It happened for the goal today, and is what caused Pickering's red card situation. Vardy drops deep - cbs follow him - ball goes right down the middle and it'd 2 vs 2 with our full backs and wingers. It's 80% of the cause of most dangerous attacks. -

Maybe we'll start playing once Watford score. Still in the dressing room. -
Had the pleasure of knowing Matt for much of the last 5 years. A witty, smart, dedicated, hardworking and loyal person who's time on this earth has concluded far too soon. I hope he has found peace. Condolences to all who also knew him, especially his family. RIP Matt!

Say what you want about how poor Pickering did, look at the highlight. Hyam and Carter are both 10 yards inside the Hull half when the keeper kicks it, and this left Pickering in a dreadful situation (which he mucked up epically!) as Delap could start the run from his own half. No idea what our CB tactic was today. We got done over the top time and again, twice for goals, and once for a red card; had at least 2 warnings at 11 vs 11 too. I don't know if it was a tactic or what, but Hyam especially kept pressing with Delap all the way into the Hull half, and they just laid it off and went long with a huge void at CB. Comfortably the worst I've seen of Hyam in his year at Rovers (and I'm a fan). Final notes, Brittain is comfortably one of our 11 best players, and "LW Gallagher" has always been miles better than "RW Gallagher", who is currently averaging a goal every 0.88 games! 🫠 -

We give players a lot of shite, but it's rare you see an actual 0/10 or 1/10 performance from a player, Szmodics has probably just accomplished it. Moving our full backs into CDM when the CBs have the ball is only clogging up the (minimal) room Wharton has. That is NOT a winning tactic here. Gallagher on, Szmodics off. Need to change to plan B... assuming there is one this season. -

Dack, Ayala, Brereton-Diaz + Morton and Sorba all gone. GK, LB, CB, CM, LW, RW and CF all needing (some massive) upgrades. Recruitment (which has been slow/ponderous/inept for so long) has to do something major to stop this team plummeting down this league. New fax machine and professional Spellchecker needed ASAP too. -

Ryan Hedges does not take that type of shot if a game is 0-0, so the fact he chose to at 1-0 is inexcusable. -

That performance was lifted straight out of an earlier part of the season. What an abhorration from the past 10 games. The highlight at 2-0 was watching 4 Rovers players moan about time wasting, get gifted the ball, and then proceed to pass it backwards to Pears in 5 passes. -

We're permitted 5 substitutions, the real challange is deciding which 6 of them deserve to stay ON the pitch. -

The refereeing in this league is utter garbage. How can that not be a yellow card for that rat Pearson. -

That's crap from Gallagher there. Go across the defender and its a goal or a red card. Good start besides that poor part. Buckley started like it could be his 10/10 performance of the season.
