  1. Middlesbrough getting Onal Hernandez from Norwich and Rovers going for Reda Khadra highlights the "loan" ambitions this season.
  2. Also, the fact that we conceded a goal - when leading 1-0 - off our own set piece (after already being warned twice) is beyond pathetic management.
  3. Out of possession we have been 5 yards off it. I don't think we touched the ball for the 10 minutes after Gallagher scored. Poveda and Clarkson have not helped us at all defensively and we don't look like we can make tackle outside of our 18 yard box. Davenport needs to come on to help Travis, and Rothwell and Brereton especially need to wake up. Dijksteel, Howson, Morsey, Jones and especially Tavernier have dominated us. As it stands we'll ship at least one more goal and comfortably lose this.
  4. Couldn't give a damn about the results Mowbray gets us this season, unless we get promoted. As it stands he looks set to oversee millions of pounds worth of players in Lenihan, Nyambe, Rothwell and Brereton leaving on free transfers in Summer 2022. Travis, Gallagher and Kaminski 12 months later.. Make no mistake about it, that man -and the Coventrio - are going to fuck us hard on their way out and avoid ALL of the fallout.
  5. Don't they mean "exciting Leeds United [False 9] Ian Poveda"???
  6. So it's been established you can be a world class footballer whilst under 6ft tall... can we move on now? We're weak as piss as a football team and need a unit of a striker... Dare I say we need a Jason Roberts style player... or we do the logical thing and play our £5m #9 there and get a proper winger. Brereton Gallagher Winger Rothwell Travis LC/JB Should likely be the front 6 for September 1st unless something drastic happens and we sign an Obafemi etc. JRC, Dack, Dolan, Chapman, Johnson, Davenport and Butterworth to round it out (eventually) (which is poor). We do not need SIX further new signings if they're going to be depth as Mowbray is sputtering, we need 2 quality forward players centrally and on the wing, an extra CB and LB. I just can't get excited about 5 teenage loans.
  7. Regarding Lenihan: It is realistic (and hopeful) that today was his worst performance of the season. Against - realistically - the best team we'll play this season. Karlan Grant, Matt Phillips, Callum Robinson and Grady Diangana are a pretty unreal frontline for this league. Not to mention their bombardment tactics escalated by Mowbrays inept formation/tactics. I would be thrilled to resign ANY of Nyambe, Lenihan, Rothwell and Brereton. All should already be locked in till 2023/2024.
  8. Shout out to Mark Venus for throwing out that towel, possibly the most impactful thing he has done in 2 calender years. Makes a change from our management typically throwing in the towel at 1-0 down.
  9. Am I right in remembering that there was not a single Tony Mowbray song sung? Quite telling. Credit to the supporters for being able to support without pandering to the undeserved (Tony) due to lack of other songs.
  10. Not looking to crucify the lad long term, but for the first person who does their match player ratings, I expect a full explanation why you haven't given Dolan a 0/10. Unless you actually gave him 0. What a shambolic cameo.
  11. Between Buckley and Dolan, are there two weaker shooters in the football league? Every goal they have scored between them have been inside the 6, or piss weak deflections. Just sayin'.
  12. I don't have any basis on this retort, but couldn't the quality and competitiveness of the SPL (and lockdown) have any baring on his disinterest? (I know Celtic were battered to the title) but surely when you canter to victory every other week its hard to stay motivated besides 4 Old Fims a season. But I'll go off the consensus, if he's going to be a luxury player, not ready for the battle, and on big wages, then I'd rather we avoid.
  13. After the confirmed early summer interest in Ntcham, he is the one I really want to finish our midfield recruitment. Mowbray, to be fair, does like his annual "high profile" 11th hour free transfer. Jack Rodwell, Lewis Holtby and Daniel Ayala the past 3 seasons. Ntcham is one to monitor until he signs elsewhere. I don't give it a 0% chance with each passing day he goes unsigned.
  14. Isaac Whitehall is the one who seems to have dropped off the earth. CDM by preference and clearly the highest though of in his academy class (Eastham, Pike, Brennan, Burns) and yet never gets close. Garrett is the year below as is Harlock and Gilsenan.
  15. He's already 18. Will turn 19 in March this season. But I agree, not much to dislike with Leighton Clarkson.
  16. I mentioned Olivier Ntcham about 100 pages ago. Sounds far fetched, but at the same time maybe it is in the same realms of Ayala last year and Holtby in 2019. Perhaps he'll come crawling back to us in early September looking for a 2 year deal. I wouldn't complain. Philippe Sandler, never heard of him. However, a 24 year old who City STILL want to give an extension to... IF he could stay fit, might be a good option. Is he a THB or Tosin though? Don't think many would complain about Leighton Clarkson given his links, pedigree/potential and being a fan. Michael Obafemi, well let's ignore that one, but probably needed, especially since its kinda part of the Armstrong deal. Reda Khadra, again never heard of him, but looks better than Carlos Villanueva and we definitly need some proper wingers. Ntcham and Obafemi, plus Khadra, Clarkson and Sandler on loan... might actually keep us stable with 2 loans to spare (*Left back*).
  17. I think you've nailed the opening remarks for Bellends post match press conference. "They haven't seen a match here for 550 days and were always going to be up for it, we did well to match it (first half)." Zzzzzzzzzz
  18. Mowbray and Waggott are going to be in for a shock when they realise they can't negotiate an additional £3m again with Southampton after Armstrong has already signed. Shambles, we should have signed Obafemi first. 🤣🤣🤣
  19. Agree. Shout out to those very vocal people on here who didn't think winning our final 3 dead-rubber home games last season (scoring 12 goals) would have any impact on Mowbray being removed or not.
  20. Because he is a gigantic buffoon. Sure Obafemi was thrilled watching Rovers play a back 5 at home vs the mighty Mocambe tonight... he'll be well up for signing now.
  21. He had 745 shots though. (Okay more like 150). Around half of those were just stupid attempts for infividual glory. He has scored all types of goals (he is just very inconsistent), except he has a frustrating inability to round the 'keeper 1v1 and misses far too many of those chances as a result, which is baffling for someone of his speed. He's also fairly trash at penalties. He will definitely have a few in contention for your goal (and miss) of the season. Just don't expect him to make smart decisions in the final third as 9 times out of 10 will scuff a shot from a stupid area when he could play a simple (and killer pass). Unless he has matured and will adapt to not being the preverbial alpha or big fish in small pond. If Josh King could be a solid Premiership striker, Armstrong has every chance.
  22. Ignoring fee for a second, does anyone actually think or what to state a case that Armstrong won't be a massive flop in the Premier League. I genuinely think he'll be back in the championship in 18 months time, with or without Southampton. (Sorry lurking Saint's fans).
  23. Sorry Gav but I'm with roversfan99 on this one: Not forgetting N'zonzi, Hanley, Raya, Dann and Olsson. Some of those were down to inept management and valuations. A net profit of £10m for Armstrong is slightly disappointing, but Obafemi would be the deal maker/breaker.
  24. That list is like a Football Managers (the PC game) wet dream. Looking through the first 5 pages, Oliver Ntcham always seemed semi-quality up at Celtic, only 25, what's happened there? Jose Simunovic too. Max Meyer, Jordan Ibe, Tom Carroll, Yannick Bolasie and Joe Bennett all could be worth a look. Hell, even Junior Hoilett, Scott Dann, Ruben Rochina could be useful to bring back 👀🤣. No sign of Luca Toni.
