Losing with bare minutes remaining = 11 men defending every set piece and corner. Nonsense. -

Suicide FIFA style defending every week. The obvious decision is to clear it, 30 yards, yet our players are constantly trying the (Y/πΊοΈ) through ball on the edge of our own area. -

Good so far. Imagine what this team could do if they weren't so rank bad on the transition. I've lost count of the number of times (per game) I'm perplexed and annoyed at the lack of directness on a counter. Be it underhit or incorrect passing (like Dolan multiple times today already) or just going safe, sideways or backwards. -

Here's what I got: β Waggott apparently spoke for 10 minutes (with Silvester sat at a table looking like a naughty school boy). No Broughton, JDT, playing staff there. β Said he decided to go to Birmingham at half 5 as the deal was basically done. Which in hindsight was a mistake. β Said ultimately the blame will land on his door as the Chief Exec but now is not the time for blame. β The Rochdale transfer isn't being appealed and will get done now but not for this season. βAt some point in the evening there was a "moot point" issue, which cost them "27 minutes" - this is the reason for the missed deadline and the cause of the extenuating circumstances - he didn't expand. β Dave Beresford (who I think is in charge of Ewood Park) queried that with the likely fan backlash coming on Monday night, asked if another statement would be put out before the game - to which another (unknown) member of staff vehemently stated that "Greg" has already done the statement and that it had been greeted with a fantastic positively recieved reation on socal media... π΅βπ« β That was in, "yada yada yada, 1Rovers, Stick together" - Could have been an email -

Being told there was an emergency (10 minute notice) to ALL (literally all) staff based at Ewood about an hour ago. -

GB: "The process this year was no different to how the club has always done it for the last 10 years. We followed that process absolutely to the letter, ultimately its been shown that the process hasn't been good enough." No shit. Been polishing the same turd for over a decade. You're supposed to be here to make a fucking difference/improvement, not just follow in the footsteps and rely on the methods of previous useless idiots. Broughton Out. Ps. This website is borderline unusable on a Samsung Mobile. -

Someone with the nous to do it should set up a GoFundMe page to cover the cost of the banner(s) for Monday. "V*nkys Out, Maggott Out, SLYvester Out, Pasha Out!" (Couldn't think of one for Pasha!) -

Can someone remind of the infamous "Broken Fax Machine" incident from the years past... I remember it in general, but I don't recall the specific details of who/what was involved. -

Another huge problem I've not seen anywhere: Β£10m IF promoted means Rovers would still have had to agree personal terms with O'Brien on that same hypothesis... that he would be Β£10m player signing a Premier League contract in the summer. Rovers haven't negotiated a PL transfer for 11 years. Do you trust anyone (Waggott or Broughton) at our place to negotiate something as complex and expensive like that in a few hours. You can't have this type of loan without the permanent transfered wage being agreed ahead of time. Otherwise what if Rovers just played the "I know we promised Β£10m, but we've tried, but Lewis just won't accept Β£10kpw, soz!" in the summer. That'll have been the hold up, absolutely. Amateur hour. -

As I posted yesterday, just wait for someone at Rovers blaming the FA Cup Replay and the game going to ET as a reason/excuse for running out of time. (If the deadline has passed without a DD signing) The club absolutely knew what they were doing with the FA Cup scheduling. -

I've never forget the first TV clip image of Samba standing up on the sub bench and dwarfing the entire team around him and almost lifting the dugout with his sheer mass. Knew he was going to be a beast from that moment. -

Brereton-Diaz, Sorba, Dack and O'Brien (Even JRC π€£) offering better service would make me okay if it was Gallagher as the starting #9. He could easily score 10+ goals going forward playing with a proper winger, an inform Dack, +O'Brien. Just please no Dack as the "False 9" to accommodate O'Brien. We know Gallagher is completely out of form, but I think every person on this thread would have 5+ goals at Man City this season if replaced with Haaland. We're (in essence) taking the two most creative (best) players from a team last year that arguably should be in the EPL already if not for some terrible Ref/VAR decisions in the Playoff Final last year. Travis, Dolan, Hedges, Vale, Buckley, Garrett, Morton just aren't creative enough consistently. And now they're role players. -

More fool Nottingham Forest for thinking they're possibly getting Β£10m in the summer! π€£ Maybe we should try and loan more players offering to pay Β£100m if we win the UCL, FA Cup and Premier League in the next half decade. Forest singing 38 players is finally catching up to them... praying they go down. -

It's genuinely quite impressive how quiet Broughton manages to keep his transfer business/aims/wishes. So quiet that even the player(s) he's interested in, their agents and current employer have no idea that Blackburn Rovers are interested either. -

The fact Rovers (and Birmingham) preemptively chose to play a match on DD (when even tomorrow would have been equally fine/made more sense) tells you everything you needed to know about how today was/is going to go. -

I was definitely in the "David Raya might be World Class" fan club (and knew Mowbray was a twat for letting him escape on the cheap), and appreciate Brereton-Diaz as much as the next fan... But can we please go 10 posts in the transfer thread without having 4 paragraphs dedicated to one of them two. It's incessant. -

4 games into the 2nd half of the season and unbelievable as it is, we're on pace to beat and lose to every team in the league in the same season. Boro, Sunderland, Cardiff and Rotherham all follow the trend perfectly. Get yourself to Bristol City I guess. And Look forward to 69 points. -

4-0 Nothing has changed since February 2017. Scandinavian Mowbray. Can someone tell me the last season Rovers didn't lose to a team that ended up getting relegated. We gift shit teams wins every year like we're Father fucking Christmas. Wycombe, Oldham, Rotherham multiple times, not to mention the teams currently 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st and 24th have already beaten us this season. Embarrassing!! -

As an aside, the transfer window for Premier League clubs is flabbergasteing. Chelsea paying Β£35m+ (on a contract to 2030) on a player I bet 99% of people on this board has never heard of. I certainly ain't. Yet Chelsea (and the rest) still want CH, L1 and L2 teams to cover wages to loan their players - that would be the first rule of football I'd change. Every week you see a player subbing on in the EPL with a squad number in the 70's or 80's FFS. Rule: If loaning to a domestic based team in a league below, parent club covers 100% of wages. End of discussion. -

Does Van Hecke qualify for tribunal compensation if he leaves on a free? Would be one of the smartest signings in our recent history. Brighton would be smarter to ask for Β£0 and a sell on % then sell him for Β£1m. As others have said, Ayala has 6 months left at Rovers. At 33, he won't take a 1 year deal and no way we offer a multi year deal at his wage. Van Hecke, Hyam, Wharton as starting options, with Phillips and Carter in reserve would be an immense central defense room. Dare I say, this has Sunderland written all over it. -

The red card was about as aggressive as when two opponents slap each other's arses after a challenge or when a keeper playfully slaps a teammate on the back of the head. It was naive - sure, but how that can be deemed a red when the players laughed after. The ref went with the advice he was given and probably isn't best pleased when he sees it back. Good job that 4th official wasn't at the World Cup (especially Argentina vs Holland) as that game would have been abandoned due to 29 red cards. The Argentina player literally smashed the ball at the Dutch bench after a foul, and wasn't even booked for it (Booked for the foul). Shambles officiating by a Billy Big Bollocks 4th official.
