All true but it was Mowbrays vision on setting up the scouting / recruitment networks. It’s the fruits of their labour but the failure AND success must fall on his head. However, the deals for Elliott, THB and JB are very much driven by the manager and his growing reputation (rightly or wrongly) as someone who develops young players. We can’t have it both ways mate. He’s either 100% responsible, or he’s not.

He won’t sit on our bench for long and so long as you play them all based on merit then you could end up with any combination. Matbe City have decided that even 10 games in the champ is better than zero games at City?

I wasn’t pointing it out to the staff at the club mate, my intended audience was those fans on here who are confused as to why we’d need another CB...

Really? Williams and Wharton are out for the season...Ayala still out....so basically we’re back to Johnson if either Lenihan or JB get injured.

This is brilliant news!! Pickering is very highly rated and he’s got potential to fill a long term gaping hole in our team. I’m not overly bothered about Kipre tbh. We just need a body and I can’t see how we can offer him regular football. Ayala should be fit in two weeks too. I’d bloody love us to go and get a CB out of League 1 or Europe for a couple of hundred grand rather than loan one.

Confirms nothing mate. Kipre didn’t go there ‘to sit on the bench’. He went there hoping to play in the Premier League. He hasn’t been deemed as better than what West Brom.

I don’t think the Raos see us as the scum of the earth. Their continued support of the club and money donated to community projects etc are proof of this.

Whatever Bennett lacks in ability he makes up with endeavour. He can fill in if need be at fullback and anywhere in midfield. But for me, I’d want to keep my biggest positive influencers in the dressing room. So long as he’s happy with that role then I see no reason in pushing him out of the door. The only way I see this happening is if Benno goes to the manager and asks for the move. It seems like a great one for him. Near to home and would likely get an 18 month contract which provides him with another year of playing plus income etc.

I wouldn’t let Benno go until the summer unless he was absolutely desperate to go. He’s been a good servant to the club and is versatile. But in our current situation, just outside the playoffs and 10pts from 12 I think I’d keep him purely for his influence in the dressing room. He’s a BIG character in there and I see no point in unsettling it.

Pretty average performance overall. The back 5 were class. No doubt getting consistency is important but the addition of JB has been very good. Trav much more like himself and Arma back in the goals. It’s a bloody brilliant win in context. Id be starting Gally if we’re going to play with two up top like today.

My guess is Holtby and Bell on their way out. Could be perms or loans. Along with maybe a few of the young uns... Pickering and Kipre in

Ahhh of course!! He’s under absolutely no pressure to win games in the Championship is he? Come on mate, let’s be real here. We currently have two first team LB’s and I’m pretty sure they were going to wait until the summer for Pickering. But he’s obv going cheap and so they’re striking whilst the iron is hot. They may have their eye on one of the young lads to back him up next season. But either way, now is not the time to be taking chances or not signing first team’rs...
