  1. Dack is our match winner though. Last week against Rotherham we were heading for defeat Dack got us a point. The week before against QPR it was Dack who stepped up to win the game. Away to Bolton it was Dack on the mark to win the game. That's 7 of our last 11 points that Dack has scored the sole goal in to get us a result. I will ask again who are we going to bring in that is going to replace those sort of numbers?
  2. Then he ought to be even fresher if he hasn't trained for most of the two weeks if he's fit enough to be on the bench and play 45 minutes then he would have been fit enough to start and play at least 70 minutes. Armstrong is not strong enough to play the lone striker role as for Brereton Mowbray can't be much clearer he see's him as a wide player. The biggest question is why did Mowbray spend £7 million on a reserve winger when everyone knew that we needed a striker.
  3. I like that system but I can't see Mowbray using it. If he changes from what he has been using then it will be to go for 3/5 at the back.
  4. I can't think of one game where Bell has gone forward and pushed the opponents back. He usually gets into the opposition half and instead of driving at them either comes inside onto his weaker right foot or passes sideways. In his time here I can't remember Bell getting an assist. Bell has also been at fault for plenty of goals this season just of the top of my head one of the Stoke goals, Leeds, West Brom and Rotherham and they are all in the last 10 games.
  5. I wouldn't be at all against changing the formation but we all know that Mowbray won't change his system unless he goes to three at the back and I don't think that we have ever looked good playing 3 at the back.
  6. Raya Nyambe Lenihan Mulgrew Williams Evans Rodwell Reed Dack Palmer Graham Subs: Leutwiler, Downing, Travis, Smallwood, Rothwell, Brereton, Armstrong Staggered to see people suggesting dropping Dack after a bad game yesterday, he's been involved in 10 of our 21 league goals. Who are we going to bring in to replicate those kind of numbers because if we have anyone capable then I am yet to see them.
  7. Williams was poor yesterday but in his 2 and a half years here he has been a steady performer. And no matter how bad Williams was yesterday it doesn't make Bell a better player.
  8. Totally embarrassing and not for the first time this season we have folded like a pack of cards. Mowbray trying to over complicate things thinking that he is some sort of tactical genius, really felt sorry for Palmer playing a role that he was clearly foreign to him. It's clear now that we spent £7 million on someone who we thought was a striker but is actually a reserve winger. I could have understood dropping Graham for the Rotherham game as he was looking knackered but dropping him after he had just had a 2 week break was crazy especially as we appear to have no viable alternative. The whole defence was shocking yesterday that's as bad as we have defended since Mowbray arrived. Bennett poor again in two positions a bit of luck that he's suspended on Wednesday as it means that Mowbray hasn't got to make the decision to drop him (which I don't think he would). Evans was a big miss again to he has become one of our key players, I assume he is injured so lets hope he is fit for Wednesday.
  9. There is plenty of way's around for example you could do something like Swansea did against us. https://www.swanseacity.com/news/bring-mate-eight-blackburn-clash
  10. The thing that I will never understand with the season ticket prices are that we got relegated and prices were frozen at the prices they were in the previous season in the Championship. Yet when we get promoted back to the Championship prices are increased by £50, I didn't understand that logic especially after setting a rather ambitious target in terms of sales. Had they been on sale before the Oxford game and at a frozen price then I would imagine that we would have at least gotten nearer to the target.
  11. Hopefully we have a recall option for all 3 otherwise they have wasted a year of their development. Then why loan him to them?
  12. I hope to see Nuttall and Travis go out on loan both need to be playing if they are to progress and have any chance of a future here, I'm not so sure that Nuttall will have one but I really believe that Travis can. Let's hope that whoever goes out on loan get's better moves than Wharton, Platt and Hardcastle got because the 3 of them have hardly played and would have been better of playing under 23's football (as would the club).
  13. The question is how long do you class as temporary? You could get away with playing him there for a few games as cover but say Nyambe gets a bad long term injury surely you need more than adequate cover for 10 to 20+ games. As for playing Reed there why would you want someone of his ability in central midfield to be shunted back there out of position. I'll put this to you that I put to Chaddy earlier (but he failed to answer). There is a common theme in all 3 games that we have lost Bennett has started 2 of them at right back and in the other one he played the majority of the second half there. Coincidence?
  14. I'd argue that we have no cover for Nyambe. If our right back gets injured then we have to play a winger there and if either of our centre backs get injured we have to play either a left back or central midfielder there. You can't expect to push for top 6 if you have to consistently play square pegs in round holes. Left back is the only position where we have a natural replacement. As for saying there's no point signing anyone as you won't get anyone good enough for the price surely that is where a good manager comes in, picking out a player that offers good value for money. Will we get someone as good as Nyambe probably not but we can get better than having Elliott Bennett (a winger) filling in there
  15. Is Martin Tyler on the Uefa payroll? You'd think this was the World Cup the way he's bigging it up. Everyone I've spoken to couldn't could care less about this tournament.
  16. Mowbray has never used Travis as a right back and even with Nyambe out injured he hasn't always made the squad. The best thing for Travis would be to go out on loan and play first team football as it is a waste for someone as good as him to not be playing regularly.
  17. For all the talk in the media of what a progressive exciting young manager Southgate is, England play like a Big Sam team.
  18. It's not Bennett's fault he is just simply not a full back. If Nyambe got a season ending injury tomorrow then Bennett is not in my opinion a viable option to be playing nearly 30 games there you can get away with him filling in for a few games but he's not an answer long term if we are looking to push for top 10. We brought in competition/cover for Williams at left back why not do it right back? West Brom paid £15 million for Burke. He's still only 21 so well out of our price range
  19. Where did both goals come from against Sheffield United? You ignore the fact that he was abysmal in the game we lost at Swansea. At Bristol City we were 2-1 down and within 15 minutes of Bennett at right back we were 4-1 down. There is a common theme in all 3 games that we have lost Bennett has started 2 of them at right back and in the other one he played the majority of the second half there. Coincidence?
  20. Incredible that anyone would have Bell starting. Just look at the last two goals that we have conceded both have come from Bell showing a lack of desire to win the ball.
  21. You could but where did both goals come from?
  22. That's your opinion (not a statement of fact) my opinion is that we do need 3-4 players. You think Bennett has done fine a right back I don't and the simple fact is it is not his position. Look at the two games we have lost recently against Swansea and Sheffield United Bennett was abysmal in both. As for Brereton if you read my post properly you would have seen I said 'IF Mowbray isn't going to use Brereton upfront then we need to bring someone in to challenge Graham'. Now the simple fact of the matter is that neither me or you (no matter what you claim) know whether Mowbray now sees Brereton as an alternative to Graham, if he does then fine we don't need another striker but if he sees Brereton as better wide still then we need another striker.
  23. I wouldn't be sending Palmer back either but I just think that Chelsea won't be happy with the amount of football that he has played and will probably recall him.
  24. We need 3-4 for players. A Right Back is needed, Bennett's performances when Nyambe was injured showed that he was not adequate backup. We are short at centre back and signing one would also allow Rodwell to play further forward. Also Mowbray clearly doesn't see Downing as being up to it at this level. A pacey winger in the Chapman mode. Although not Chapman (too many injuries). Hunter at Fleetwood, Lowe at Portsmouth or Anderson at Lincoln would fit the mould. I also wouldn't be surprised if Palmer went back to Chelsea. And if Mowbray isn't going to use Brereton upfront then we need to bring someone it to challenge Graham.
