  1. Never in a million years was that offside. The VAR angles for offsides are so dodgy.
  2. All those moaning on here about not wanting Batth and him being to old, today when Hyam went off showed exactly why we needed an experienced head have as an option at centre back, Carthorse and Wharton were disastrous together. And anyone who thinks we had a good window just look at that bench of ours today there was absolutely nothing on it to bring on to change and win us the game. I wouldn't blame JDT one bit if he walked he deserves better than Venkys, Waggott & Broughton they have let him down badly and none of them should be anywhere a club such as ours. But you wanted us to sign Macaulay Langstaff who is 26 and has only played one full season of football above the 6th tier of English football.
  3. 6. Haven't replaced the experience lost and the squad is very thin.
  4. Good to see Scott Wharton put in a solid display when he came on.
  5. Huge slice of luck? It was a damn good save. Give him some credit, the agenda some people have against Pears is embarrassing.
  6. Shocking positional playing for both the red card and the second goal from Carthorse. A first choice centre back is needed as much a first choice centre forward.
  7. It appears that it was rumours of his recovery that had been exaggerated. Just a travelling reserve.
  8. Stokes retiring and then coming back just to play in a World Cup sets a bad precedent.
  9. He's a flat track bully. He's never excelled in any of the European competitions, he underperforms for Serbia & has a tendency to go missing in big games. A very fitting end to Neymar's career. His performances never matched the hype surrounding him. Saudi money has actually good for the big clubs because they aren't taking their best players but rather players the big clubs want to get off their books who are on high wages and who without Saudi would stay clogging up a wage bill and pushing clubs closer to FFP. United have got rid of Telles & Ronaldo to there, Chelsea got rid of Koulibaly & Mendy. Newcastle got rid of St Maximin, Bayern got a buyer for Mane, PSG got someone to pay a fee for Neymar & got his extravagant wages of their books. Barcelona found a buyer for Kessie who they seemed to be offering around from the minute they signed him, Inter wanted rid of Brozovic and found a buyer. Liverpool got money into revamp their midfield they were not bidding £110 Million for anyone before the Saudi money came in for Henderson & Fabinho. It's those clubs who are not quite at the very top of the European game that it is bad for.
  10. What has happened to Scott Wharton? Before last season he looked a very solid Championship centre back but now he has turned into a liability.
  11. Play by the proper rules during the 90 a 1/3 of a half's stoppage time as we have just seen at Sunderland is utterly ridiculous.
  12. He went very Donald Trump for a minute there everything was great from the bus, to the chefs, to the grass and the fans.
  13. For me undoubtedly the best batsman to make his debut for England post WW2.
  14. No quite old enough to be able to remember Hutton & Compton but being able to go back to the late 50's I'd go with. Gooch, Cook, Barrington, May, Pietersen, Stokes, Flintoff, Evans, Laker, Trueman, Willis. 12th man Underwood
  15. Jennings is an excellent player of spin and could be needed if Duckett struggles with Ashwin as he did last time he toured India. Sam Hain I'm a huge fan of it staggers me that he has never played for England in any form of the game, if any upper or middle order batsman were to be unavailable he for me is the best player to bring in. Anderson I'm afraid is finished and England need to look forward. Woakes a fantastic bowler in England but inexplicably is poor overseas. Going forward I would be using Woakes solely at home.
  16. Duckett, Crawley, Jennings, Pope (if fit, if not fit Jamie Smith), Root, Brook, Stokes, Hain, Foakes, Bairstow, Jacks, Leach, Dawson, Ahmed, Wood, Tongue, Robinson & Potts.
  17. Just to win a game in Australia would be something, that we have only won test's in 1 of our last 5 tours is in an embarrassment. Australia come here and regardless of how good a team they have they usually compete our last 3 efforts down under have been pathetic a 5-0 & two 4-0's and one of those would have been 5-0 if not for the weather compare that to the last three in England you have two 2-2's and a 3-2 to England, they have won as many matches on their last 3 tours here as we have on our last 9 tours to Australia. I think it is safe to assume that Anderson won't be in the squad next time we tour there and that will mean that no one in our squad will have ever won a test in Australia.
  18. It wouldn't because it would have been all over yesterday or early this morning at the very latest.
  19. Not picking Chris Woakes at Lords a ground he averages 11.33 on with the ball has cost England winning the Ashes. Woakes has been phenomenal since coming in England's player of the series for me.
  20. Yes but he could still do a job the next two winters in India and Pakistan.
  21. Cook is a swing bowler, in a similar mould to Anderson. Atkinson has good pace, hits the pitch hard and can swing the ball. Lawes is just a lovely bowler to watch a good rhythmic run, nice action & at 20 years of age only going to get better. The spin bowling department is pretty bare in addition to those you have mentioned the only other I would add is Liam Dawson.
  22. Sam Cook at Essex is a ready made replacement for Anderson. I watched Tom Lawes bowl for Surrey last week he's only 20 but was very impressive defiantly one to keep an eye, Atkinson at Surrey also gets good pace and bounce. Another lad I like a lot but struggles with fitness is Henry Brookes. You've then got the likes of Fisher, Mahmood & Stone who have played a handful of tests between them but all have had stress fractures within the last year and in the case of the later two they have been recurring.
