  1. Broughton has managed to sign a goal keeper who does nothing but cost us goals and signed strikers who never score. The bloke is dreadfully out of his depth.
  2. If an offer of 6-7M came in for Carter you'd very quickly open your eyes and realise you were dreaming.
  3. Or I can see the writing on the wall like I did with Mowbray about 3 years before you could finally see it.
  4. If he really was first choice I dread to think what 2nd & 3rd were like. It seems as though Gregg's identification of a goalkeeper is about as good as his identification of a centre forward.
  5. Have you ever heard of any club signing a player and saying we only signed him because we couldn't land our preferred targets.
  6. What do you expect him to say that he was really 6th choice but that the other 5 were either too expensive or didn't want to come.
  7. We haven't been able to what Australia have done over many years and be very strong in both red ball & white ball cricket at the same time. It always seems to be one or the other with England. What Australia and India have shown this tournament is that on the whole your best players are your best players regardless of format.
  8. India would still have batted first had they won the toss.
  9. No he's not. They way this tournament has been set up it would be hilarious if India didn't win it.
  10. It's not about his age it's about attitude and his is arrogant and that is why such a simple pass was so sloppily given away. Also there is no excuse for lack of effort which is what he showed by failing to get out to Whiteman.
  11. Adam Wharton's attitude stinks he's a decent player with plenty of potential but no way near as good as he thinks he is. The winning goal all starts from his casual pass and then to compound it he doesn't attempt to get out to Whiteman and stop the cross coming into the box.
  12. What a stark contrast how Potts defended Wharton at the back post earlier in the half to how Brittain defended the back post against their centre half then. Weak
  13. He shouldn't even be on a cricket pitch, he should have been banned for life.
  14. Wahlstedt is a liability the sooner Pears is back the better.
  15. Whilst the top 5 have failed to fire they are undoubtedly quality players. Of the other 7 though only Rashid is up to it. Livingstone is little more than a slogger who might make a big score 1 innings out of 10-15 on a flat wicket but he isn't going to make runs in the sub continent pitches and coming with not many on the board. Moeen's dismal today summed up my opinion on him as a cricketer, half hearted. Woakes was never going to be a factor in India. Willey wasn't good enough to be selected 4 years ago and I wouldn't say he is an improved cricketer since then. As for Wood in this World Cup he has bowled as you would probably expect someone to who has bowled just 12 overs in ODI cricket in the last 27 months. From the last world cup the leadership of Morgan, the X Factor of Archer & ability to take wickets in the middle overs of Plunkett has not been replaced. But it is very hard to identify players for a role like Plunkett's when players you would be looking to bring in don't play 50 over cricket and the most amount of overs they are bowling in a white ball games is 4. It is almost as though downgrading your domestic 50 Over competition to a 2nd XI competition in order to play a format which no one else in the world plays wasn't a good idea. Who ever would have guessed that.
  16. Very sad news about Bill Kenwright a good man, who was in football for the right reasons. You'd hope that there are some Everton 'fans' taking a look at themselves in the mirror tonight and feeling ashamed.
  17. Striking parallels between this World Cup and the 1936 Olympics in the way that it has been hijacked by the hosting nationalist government for political purposes. But all it has shown so far is that under Modi's Hindu Nationalist government India is not capable of hosting such an event, the organisation has been a shambles.
  18. I'm not sure what Liverpool really can do but it is good to see a club not just accepting the apology and moving on. The PGMOL seem to think they can make cock ups week after week apologise and then everything is ok but given the amount of apologies they have dished out you have to wonder how sincere they are or is it simply PR.
  19. Far too casual. Looks like he is starting to believe his own hype.
  20. We don't have very good defenders either with the exception of Hyam.
  21. Not bringing in a decent striker continues to cost the club and leave JDT managing with one hand tied behind his back. You put a decent forward in our team tonight and we are out of sight after half an hour. I don't criticise JDT one bit, the criticism should be directed at Venky's, Waggott, Broughton and in that order. Also all those who were against Danny Batth we have seen with Carthorse's performances tonight and at Plymouth exactly why we needed him. Instead are options are Scott Wharton who has regressed beyond all recognition and a kid on loan from Bournemouth who played a bit for Hearts last season.
  22. One massive difference of course, the UK government isn't funding the Premier League.
  23. Heckingbottom and I wouldn't be surprised to see Chris Widler end up back there. Also I don't suppose you can ever rule out Chelsea when it comes to sacking managers.
  24. Have I nodded of and woken up in May? Talk about going over the top after winning just the fourth game of the season.
