  1. To be honest, I was just gobsmacked that he didn't move Rothwell to the middle and bring on Gallagher 🤣
  2. Half-blocked a clearance, that's about it. Not strong enough to play in midfield. No idea how he gets in the squad.
  3. As soon as Tavernier felt Douglas' hands on his back he threw himself on the floor a minute ago. Then he got up and told the ref it was the third time Douglas has fouled him so far. To be fair, if the ref isn't going to make decisions then somebody has to do it for him.
  4. More terrible refereeing in the Championship! Since not much else has happened, let me just say nice and early - I really hate Sam Morsy.
  5. I actually thought Birmingham should have had a pen the other week as well. But we went up the other end and went 1-0 up instead.
  6. There's obviously a comedian choosing the music for halftime...Hard To Beat?
  7. Did we really just allow a 6'6" centre-half to walk the ball to the edge of our area?
  8. 🤣 Personally I was never convinced by Brad Friedel. I mean, all he ever did was make great saves. One goal in all those appearances? How did he last so long?
  9. Honestly though, looking at the lineup at half 2 I almost didn't bother watching this because I was expecting a disaster. Two left-backs, one centre-half, three centre-mids, a winger in midfield and a target man on the wing (again!). What kind of performance do you expect when the team is football's answer to Frankenstein's monster?
  10. Consistently shafts Rovers. Is that the sort of thing we're looking for? I remember watching the Luton game and thinking this ref had some personal grudge against Brereton. Nothing so far today has made me feel any different.
  11. Buckley for Nyambe? And with Lenihan playing right side of the defence on a yellow? It's, erm, brave...?
  12. If not Johnson, I'd sooner see Holtby back off. At least Rothwell is capable of coming up with something to change a game.
  13. We have to dominate possession because as we see week after week, if we lose the ball we will concede. That's probably why most of the players are so conservative on the ball, looking for safe options that retain possession but never actually lead to a chance. Elliott's the only one who looks willing to take a chance to make something happen.
  14. It's a sad state when I'm actually reasonably happy with this ref compared to some of the others we've seen this season.
  15. That's how they've started. Funny stat on Sky Sports News this morning, Armstrong has had 30 more shots than anyone else in the Championship.
  16. Ay, play him through the middle so he can use his physicality to get bullied off the ball everytime he gets it. 🤣
  17. I'm just glad there's no fans in the ground to hear them playing Little Mix at half-time.
  18. For all the possession we have, far too much of it is with players who aren't looking to do anything with it. Not just today, but almost every game I've seen this season. Trybull is having his best game I've seen him play, but between him, Johnson, the centre-halves, Kaminski, Douglas and recently Holtby, there's just no threat. Most of them look way more anxious about possibly losing the ball than getting an attack going, so we go side to side over and over. We need to get the ball to our more direct players a lot quicker. It's not like we don't have them. Armstrong, Elliott, Rothwell and even Nyambe can all run with the ball and exploit space and move the opposition around. But instead we go left-back to centre-half to keeper to centre-half to right-back and let them get back into a formation where we struggle to break them down. EDIT - Genuinely not a criticism of Trybull this time, he's doing his job very well, but when we play through him going forward the move is probably doomed.
  19. Actually just came on to say the same thing. I made a few comments about how poor Trybull was a few weeks back (Luton game?) but credit where it's due, most of Stoke's attacks seem to have ended with him making an interception today. I will retract my previous comparisons to Keith Andrews and apologise. 🤣
