I have an alternative name for the Season Ticket thread.

I call it (like plenty of others, actually) the Chaddy Show.

Chaddy is one of those posters that rile up people with some of the stuff he posts but he'd be missed if he wasn't here and you can't doubt his dedication to Rovers

On the maddison thing again.  No one would have known how good he could have Been at this tournament because he wasn't given a chance.  Maddison could have been 'outstanding '

One of the best players in the league at Leicester, give him a chance at a City or a Liverpool and he'll show how good he can be.Southgate has got away with no criticism with not playing him because all the journalists are arsekissing him as they don't want the access that he gives to the team taken away if he is replaced. He was fit to play by the end of the group stage so the he wasn't fit enough line doesn't hold up

Bobby Robson's 1990 team would have been worthy finalists - England were unlucky. But that seems to be a theme with England - something always seems to go wrong and failure seems inevitable

With a better GK we might have won that world cup.Shilton was well past his best and got nowhere near their pens.

  5. Didn't watch the semi finals, just couldn't get up for them after England's exit.Should be a good final so will watch that,France have the better team but it'll probably feel like an Argentina home game,i think it'll go to extra time and wouldn't count out a Penalty shootout to decide the winner

We will never have that winning mentality that Argentina Germany Italy France Brazil have.  Its not a particularly good Argentina side yet though are in the final while people are patting England on the back for playing well against France and losing.  I have never bought into this well done England for playing well tripe. Winners and losers

Didn't you say you wanted Southgate to stay on? Isn't it the managers job to install a winning mentality yet he's struggled in the biggest games to get that into the players.

I hope you don’t mean the great footballer but out an out cheat and despicable excuse for a human being with the name M*******a

He handballed a goal,no different from a player diving to win a pen,he had a drug problem not the first and definitely not the last footballer to have but he could still produce magic on the pitch

Oh absolutely. Not even enough points yet to guarantee safety.

That said the 12/1 for us to be champions I got before the season kicked off seems like a shrewd bet right now, can’t get other than odds on at the minute on it.

You have to hope its too early for Kompany to take the Belgium job.Has he said anything about the interest in him taking it if asked?

Currently odds on to win the league with most bookies  - and 1/5 for promotion. Pretty strong odds considering still over half the games to play and a transfer window to come.

In Chaddy's defence, I was really unsure how our season would pan out with all the squad upheaval - though I tend to try to insulate myself from dissapointment and err on the downside as it is the hope that kills you.

He has no defence,it was a stupid statement at the time and looks even more stupid now

  10. I have come to the view that JDT is a dud manager but saying that i would give him the Jan window and the rest of the season to change my mind.

Firstly next time we go 1-0 make me start to believe we can still get back in the game, secondly show that you can see we haven;t got the players to be playing it out from the back.try something different once in a while,

Show you can set teams up to play different ways,if you only play one way you aren't going to get far in the management game.

I agree with your first part.

I don't agree that Terry Venables or Sir Bobby Robson failed miserably either. Others yes I agree

Why would you break up a team including the manager and players who have such a bond and performed very well yesterday? The players trust him.

Why would you seriously look at who's out there if you already believe you have the right person for the job? Apart from Howe or Potter who else is performing well enough to warrant it? are either ready for job? probably not but 4 years time after Southgate has hopefully them to winning a world cup or Euro's.

Yes Saka was having a very good game but his he running on empty you surely take him off?

How do you know the next manager wouldn't have a bond too, they're big men i'm sure they can handle a new guy in place,i wouldn't trust the FA to pick a new man though, they only chose Southgate because he was a safe bet after Allardyce.

The manager doesnt have to be English imo were trying to win cups not be patriotic.

If Saka really has to be subbed it wouldn't have been Mount who  isn't good enough to be in the squad imo or Sterling whos just had a traumatic week and who cant have been 100% ready to play,You need a goal get the inform player on Rashford or one of the best performers in the Prem this season Maddison on.

    Wasn’t much to beat?

Have you seen the list of managers we’ve had over 20/30yrs? The real cream of the crop from across Europe?

I respect your opinion of course but we must keep Southgate at all costs for me, no reason to replace him.

By saying not much to beat I was meaning the results in the tournaments not the Managers.I would love to be wrong and see him lifting a trophy if he stays.
