  1. Yep, just a case of which back door they finally managed to open to push it through
  2. Comes down to money, The Deloitte Football money league publishes an annual top 30 clubs based on revenue. The most recent of which contained 14 Premier League teams in the top 30 (and 6 in the top 10) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deloitte_Football_Money_League
  3. Yes Assuming that the story is true and Man Utd, Chelsea & Liverpool are all chasing him, and want to sign Tyjon whilst he is still under contract, a bid has to be made and accepted. If Tyjon has made his mind up already & Man Utd are happy to wait a year, then ias long as Rovers offer him a deal, it would then come down to compensation at a tribunal (unless the clubs agree a fee)
  4. Yes, he has signed a scholarship contract which ties him to the club until the summer of 2026. Phillips signed both a scholarship contract (at the time he was still going by Famuyiwa rather than Phillips), & then a pro contract for the maximum time allowed of 3 years given his age. The pro contract was the contract with a release clause included
  5. Starts this weekend for O'Riordan - lost 1-0 - finished 13th - Crewe were 2nd & going for automatic promotion when he signed for them Batty - lost 1-0 - finished 21st Garrett - won 4-1 - scored to make it 1-1 - withdrawn after 77 minutes with the score at 3-1 - finished 20th On the bench Markanday - won 4-1 - result means they finish 6th & qualified for play offs Not involved in matchday squad Saadi - won 2-0 Vale - won 2-1 - currently injured Duru - drew 0-0 - currently injured - finished 16th As an aside, results mean that Chesterfield (with McFadzean & Fleck both playing the full 90 minutes) finish 7th and qualify for the playoffs & Richie Smallwood's Bradford finish 3rd to earn automatic promotion
  6. https://utddistrict.co.uk/manchester-united-have-submitted-bid-for-championship-wonderkid-potential-swap-deal-on-the-cards/01/05/2025/ https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/news/manchester-united-surprise-bid-english-130000604.html https://thepeoplesperson.com/2025/05/01/manchester-united-make-surprise-bid-for-english-forward-igor-tyjon-293505/ It does look to be the same story repeated, so not sure if its genuine, also seems to be on Twitter
  7. Maybe a whole clan of 7th tier standard goalkeepers? They do look quite similar, and they both follow each other on Instagram, so I think they may be related Connor Jordan
  8. Not to my knowledge, but then again, I only found out that Connor existed after reading the match report for Ashtons play off defeat and thinking how rude it was that they had a player on loan for a year and got his name wrong 😉 Edit - it seems Jordan was injured
  9. Discovered today that the Eastham who has been playing for Ashton Utd for the past month or 2 is a different one than ours. Jordan Eastham (ours) played 28 games for them before he was replaced by Connor Eastham for most games since March Seems that Jordan was injured, results seemed to deteriorate without him
  10. He may well get a gig on £40K a week, doing a few days training and getting weekends off for one of the big boys as a 3rd/4th choice keeper. Quadrupling his wage may just about make up for him not being first choice 😉
  11. I am possibly splitting hairs here but from memory, I think he said "forward" rather than "striker", which in this day seems to be inclusive of wide players as well as out and out centre forwards
  12. Out of interest, what did Dolan say in response?
  13. To be clear, I wasn't having a go at you 99, It was just a thought that occurred as I read your post I am just pretty sure that every player in the squad has been described by at least someone on here as being not good enough. Even in the past couple of years, that accusation has been levelled to Tronstad, Dolan, Travis, Hyam, Brittain, Szmodics
  14. The amount of players Rovers have who are not top half players (Ohashi, Pickering, Dolan, Pears, Hedges, (even Tronstad according to one), have been regular starters in squads which keeps finishing in the top half 😉 Or maybe, just maybe, many people completely overestimate exactly what a top half Championship player looks like?
  15. Apparently since at least the summer of 2023, and by all accounts offered very similar terms to what he is already on Why would he commit to being tied down for longer on the same/very similar terms? When he could easily get more than double that elsewhere
  16. Not quite He signed a contract with Rovers the summer of 2020 when Preston released him. - This would have been on well under £1K/week wages as he was a signing for the U21s at the time and another 6 months later after he had made several first team appearances for Rovers - which I would hazard a guess would have probably been in the region of an initial £4K - £5K/week But nothing since that point (February 2021) which is criminal seeing as he has been a regular first team squad member since arriving almost 5 years ago
  17. Looks as though Dickson Etuhus son came off the bench late on for Rovers https://www.premierleague.com/match/120672
  18. Start today for Eastham - lost 2-1 - result sees them knocked out of the play offs at the semi final stage
  19. They are putting all the building blocks in place for the "greedy Dolan &/or his agent" narrative to be trotted out in the summer https://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/25119994.dolan-contract-reality-blackburn-boss-big-money-claim/
  20. and the opinion of 4 consecutive Rovers managers, Edit - I suppose technically only 3 since Ismael hasn't yet had an opportunity yet to pick Dolan ahead of Markanday
  21. We can hopefully sign him to a 3 year pro contract, cant get him to sign for any longer than that until he turns 18. Rules don't allow it
