  1. Looks like he was on the books at Leicester for 11 years from the age of 9, so would assume he holds British citizenship/passport/something similar
  2. I have no idea of the credentials of the person who posted this, but a translation of his post seems to indicate (I think... auto translations can be funny things) that the €2M (Euros not Β£) would be if/when all clauses are met * obviously assuming that the guy knows what he is talking about and that it has translated properly/I have read the translation correctly (the bold part in the translation below is less than clear) Original post & translation below should anyone else want to hazard a guess Sidnei Tavares at Blackburn Rovers… the clock is ticking imminently! Negotiations in the final stages to reach a full agreement between clubs, in a transfer that will be around 2M € with objectives included (exclusive values). The midfielder leaves Moreirense and is expected to travel to England by Sunday to undergo medical examinations and sign a contract.
  3. exactly the bold part
  4. The point would be, to get some money back on him, which I will concede is a moot point as income does not affect the budget at this club
  5. Rovers are still paying his existing contract, and will be doing so until the end of the month, when his contract expires and he moves to Chesterfield completes
  6. Markanday signed for Chesterfield last night I still maintain that Rovers should have triggered his year option. Not that I think he was a huge asset to the paying squad, but even if they had still allowed him to move on a free transfer this summer they could have inserted a fairly high sell on fee. It was always obvious that he would end up at Chesterfield (or similar) this summer, so Rovers may as well have potentially made something in the future on the deal. If he has a full season like his initial loan at Chesterfield then his transfer fee in a years time would be useful to any normal club (where income affects expenditure) in Rovers position Another miscalculation by those in charge of the purse strings
  7. Sounds like 3 very strange appointments
  8. I thought he took one up too. Maybe he doesn't count towards esc because of age, or that he was not registered as a first team player? (although I thought neither of those factors mattered) Or maybe they are counting on moving him on in the summer (if it wasn't just a case of out of sight, out of mind?)
  9. Last summers question of if Sigurdsson's registration was converted from ESC to GBE (or if the club were aware that this could be done) has finally been answered "There have also been other players brought in on an ESC slot and converted. Arne Sigurdsson initially for his loan transfer again we were able to successfully convert him because he played enough first team minutes I assume that we can therefore presume that Ohashi's registration will also be switched over this summer ""Yuki works because he was a regular player in the first team he played over 50% of minutes during his first season which meant that Blackburn were able to say to the FA well he's played this percentage of minutes, therefore, we can convert him to a full GBE."
  10. He is on the bench for Hungary tonight against JDTs Sweden (Ayari starting for Sweden) Hopefully since it is just a friendly he gets his first cap in the 2nd half. Seeing as their other 2 keepers are both 34, they surely have to think about giving him a go at some point?
  11. He has been a Japan International for about 6 months now
  12. Japan had already qualified and picked an experimental squad to give fringe players a chance
  13. Carrick potted by Boro Quite rightly in my opinion, should have done much better with what he had available to him
  14. More of a recap than a story, but confirmation that its all about increasing value (selling players) rather than any sort of building exercise Rudy Gestede, wants to offer even more minutes to those Under-23 in the Academy. "What we have seen in the last year, the minutes played by our Academy players has dropped drastically," he told The Lancashire Telegraph in April. "We used to be over 2,000 minutes for Under-23 Academy players. Last 12 months, 142 minutes. "That affects the value of the asset and we want to go back to that model. That was part of the discussions with Valerien. They have to be part of your squad planning and we will also go in the market for young players."
  15. Technically 1st June, (for 9 days) but seeing as it is effectively a registration window, not a transfer window, and we do not have any games to register players for, does it matter? Its not like teams cannot sign players anyway or announce signings
  16. I do not see us spending anywhere near Β£3M on any individual player, I am assuming we are interested because there is a low release clause which has become active due to their relegation (purely a guess re the clause, but it would make some sense)
  17. I am assuming from his post yesterday, that Eddie has seen him play
  18. I've amended your quote I think that is more accurate. Rovers might get lucky, but the penny pinching will eventually catch up
  19. Stritch getting some undue "flack" (possibly not the right word) in my opinion. He has found the step up from U18s to U21 difficult so far (I suspect because he possibly had an overreliance on his strength at U18 level and needs to adjust), but he did only turn 19 six months ago. He is not exactly past it, and triggering an option to see if he manages to step up over the next year seems logical to me Wood makes a little less sense. Has looked good at U21 level, but given he will be 21 during the summer, and he hasn't made any real impression in numerous loans in men's teams, seems like we are maybe keeping hold of him for the sake of it. I would imagine that his option has been triggered to give one last chance/loan to see if he can step up
  20. I was being as nice as my I could possibly be. Believe me, I held back
