Rovers fans had a title win in 1995 and league cup in 2001. Newcastle fans have had nothing but are still there. I've had a quick look at past attendances at Ewood Park. Opening home game in 1984-85 v Carlisle had an attendance of 5,121. The 12,000 were nowhere to be seen.

Crowds in the 80s fell everywhere down to hooliganism. Even clubs like Spurs and Arsenal had crowds like that.

If you look at the use of loan players in this division you will see that the likes of West Brom and Leeds actually have a greater reliance on them than we do.
