  1. As a few have pointed out in the past there are grounds for believing that under the present owners the manager - whoever it is - faces some constraints as to what positions transfer fees can be applied to so it is not a great surprise if we need reinforcements in the same positions.
  2. The overall situation is that steady improvement is being made - as evidenced by our league position.
  3. Excellent analysis that is based on the facts.
  4. How do you get more speeding fines off more gridlock ?
  5. Stating the facts - and MattyBlue was a big enough man to acknowledge that. Ince was a failure but we have to get the facts right.
  6. I don't think for one moment that this was Ince trying to show who was boss. Friedel was allowed the move in recognition of his contribution to our club. Ince had only just arrived and I suspect that it was John Williams who effectively took this decision.
  7. That's harsh on Ince. Friedel wanted to leave because he had lost a lot of money on an investment in the US and wanted a move to a club paying bigger wages.
  8. I asked for evidence of what were claimed to be the views of some supporters and was provided with none.
  9. It was your choice to take the thread off topic by making unsubstantiated claims about other supporters regarding the club as tinpot.
  10. Perhaps you could copy us in on a post arguing that "we are a tinpot League One outfit who are lucky to be in the Championship" because I can't ever remember reading one. If you look at the population sizes of the cities with the other clubs you refer to you will see that Blackburn Rovers cannot be described as similar sized.
  11. Would be nice but Bell is a few years older now than Nyambe was.
  12. He has played at a much higher level.
  13. A great afternoon for the players and the manager and of course the travelling supporters. This messageboard should be a nicer place to be for the next 10 days or so.
  14. Unlike Mowbray, Furphy could not get us promoted.
  15. Yeah - forgot about him. Think he was here before Mowbray ? which gets him off the hook per the poster above.
  16. But he is doing the coaching - so why does he get away with it ?
  17. Mark Venus and Damien Johnson coach the players - do they start walking as well ?
  18. As I mentioned earlier on this thread last week 5 unnamed Championship clubs visited the EFL to register their dissatisfaction with the failure to set a date for the hearing on the Sheffield Wednesday situation and over Wednesday continuing to sign players. Clubs are now prepared to use lawyers to force the EFL to apply the FFP rules and a legal minefield also awaits if the EFL do not do so.
  19. Yes, this issue is not going to go away.
  20. The manager seemed to know last season - Mulgrew was the highest scoring defender in English football.
  21. Looks promising but has returned to Brentford because he is injured and per Wikipedia looks to be contracted through to June 2021.
  22. We don't look like reaching 70 points - with 37 points from 27 games we are on course for 63-64 points but with Dack no longer available we could well come in below that level at which point a 9 points deduction might take us very close to going over the edge. Huddersfield and Stoke both have parachute payments from the Premier League to help them now, Reading apparently sold some land, Barnsley have sold a lot of players, and looking at Millwall's most recently available accounts they made total losses of just under £11m for the 2 years to June 2018 so I would not expect them to be anywhere near the £39m threshold for losses.
  23. Yes - unfortunately a good manager like Pearson would not be interested in what we currently have to offer.
  24. Apart from Birmingham presumably not up against FFP issues - there have been reports that Birmingham are facing a further points deduction for FFP
  25. Being a member of the Flat Earth Society is a remarkable act of faith - but the members are still potty.
