Summer Transfer Window
simongarnerisgod replied to Stuart's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
eastham, hilton and fisher must be pretty p****d off,not a snowballs chance in hell of them ever playing first team football here, good transfer window but this goalkeeper situation is frankly silly, you don`t need six goalkeepers on the books -

most pleasing we`ve got a pretty decent left back and a great bonus we`ve got the lad from liverpool, though can`t think why we`ve got or going to get another goalkeeper, are they paying ben benson piece work!!!,the pressure is on tony now to get a decent run at the play offs,he now has the tools to do it imo -

filbert street was an extremely strange ground, remember that row of executive boxes which constituted a stand at one end and the away end on the side where if you near the back you could only see half the pitch!!,still better than the totally bland walkers stadium though (or whatever it`s called now) -

my dad said it was a fantastic night,i was to young to go to night matches, especally away ones, promotion, rovers fans everywhere making a right racket, jumping up and down and making one stand nearly collapse!!! -

when he first broke into the 1st team he did ok against wigan despite winning nothing in the air, after that he was badly exposed away against sheff wed,it`s plain to see he can`t head a football and is weak in the tackle,in competetive games there is no point masking over the fact,he`ll be exposed badly again,at least wharton has 3 seasons of football against nasty centre forwards in the lower leagues, there will be no pushing him around,he might be exposed against quicker players,we`ll just have to see -

wharton is a good header of a ball and strong in the tackle,id`e sooner have him in side over magloire, who frankly can`t head a football and can`t tackle, whether wharton is good enough we`ll never know until he gets a run of games, phil jones was thrown in at the deep and he did`nt turn out to badly for us -

i still feel a bit guilty for all the hounding we gave him at the end of mackays reign,he steered us through the 80`s when we were skint and still challenged for promotion a couple of times, while preston, bolton and burnley were languishing in the bottom division -

i fear mowbray`s phase of attacking willl come to a shuddering halt this saturday,a shame as id`e be confident of victory sticking to his previous formation,i hope im`e wrong but it`s so mowbray to start shuffling everyone about -

very long odds but can you imagine the panic if one of the big six did end up in relegation trouble, they`de probably try to change the rules again? -

ayresome park the old middlesboro ground was a pretty miserable place, been twice and it was blowing a gale both times, the ground was falling to bits and the general area looked like it had just come out of ww2,i know blackburn is`nt the most salubrious of places but it made our town look bright and cheery -
Project "Big Picture"
simongarnerisgod replied to 47er's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
the real aim of the project is an end product of a closed premier league, with maybe a franchising model which is reviewed every 5 seasons, they introduced it in rugby league and the game went to the dogs because for everybody bar the top 4 of leeds, wigan,st helens and warrington, there was nothing to play for,you could`nt win the title and could`nt get relegated, most games were meaningless -

it was that fat git rick holden who i did`nt like, looked like a slob, ran like an overweight slob but he used to put absolutely evil crosses in,the ones which draw the keeper out but veer away from him,a strikers nirvana? -

i was at this one, wonderful old ground, had kick about on the beach before the game? great header from speedie, for someone who short he was a fantastic header of a ball,he used to hang in the air for ages, the sunderland fans absolutely hated him, apparently due to some brawl in his coventry days? -

simongarnerisgod replied to philipl's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
forest are in right state and it`ll take hughton months to sort them out,our biggest danger is mowbray messing about with the line up and changing formation,if we keep a settled side im`e confident we`ll win easily -
